hey DD Markk,I’ve got some request of a rare artist that no one have ever analyzed. and the request is,ryoji hirano,the artist of one shot fire and water demon slayer,and a artist of fate type redline,i have been up to his art-style for so long yet i cannot compromise such a masterful skill as i prefer ryoji hirano art style better than yusuke murata,please ryoji hirano has never been analyzed,it just seems like he have gave everything to his will on making fate type redline,his art style are like a no joke,that people cant even copy him properly,tough a one video,advice and its understanding could be worth a tiny info i can keep.

I cried. You so fucking real and so resonate with me. Having fun first. When i having my first artblock, i honestly didn't know what I going to do with my art, I only was obsessed with draw better. But it's was not only not fun it's was painful. Some another troubles in life with that and I don't draw about 4-5 months... But one day i find one artist who really have his vibe, style, his works was so enjoyable, emotional, stylyzed, i realized : i wanna be like him. I wanna draw like that. After this i start doing daily sketches. This change everything. Little bit more than year I draw everyday, yes i still having really bad days sometimes, but. When i realize what I want to do do, how i want, how it must be. I really know now my path. About csm, re reading it 3 times already) one of the best mangas for me. Manga and anime is endless inspiration for me, how great, artistic, emotional and incredible this stories can be.. It can't be non inspiring. So yeah, if someone who read this comment, believe in yourself, know what you really want and just do for this little bit everyday day. It sounds so boring but it's working) i draw most 1-3 hours in day, sometimes more. In one year i make 4600+ sketches) because this my eyes trained, hand, i draw much more fast, see things in someone's works what i never see before, my shadows finally dark 😂. Warm up before big drawing make big drawing so much better) so guys, keep going and have fun. Money, skills and all this stuff comes only if you have fun and do what you really want to do)

Recently I started studying Fujimoto's artstyle and even implicating some aspects into my own artstyle. I watched some other videos including yours about how to draw like him and since then I've never been so excited to draw art. Seeing how freely he draws, not worrying about accuracy or perfection has really helped me come to love my art. Knowing that someone like Fujimoto can be so successful while still having fun with his art is a huge inspiration. I used to dread having to sit down and draw because initially, I only drew for attention. I would force my art to be perfect and it was so draining. I would over-examine my artwork and get easily frustrated if I failed to draw quickly and perfectly. I held myself to such high expectations as an artist to the point I began to not even finish any of my pieces. It took a huge toll on my mental health because I've been drawing all my life, I used to love picking up a pencil and just scribbling away but now I felt that I had the whole world on my shoulders. I truly believed that I had to be the best and that my art had to exceed my own expectations to mean something. But now, I just draw. I don't worry about what other people think of my art, I don't care if it's messy or unorganized because as long as I'm having fun while drawing it, I can finally be proud of my work. And if I'm being honest, my art has greatly improved since I began to take inspiration from Fujimoto. Having fun comes first.

Crazy how we're going thought the same shit. Except it didn't take me a manga to realize it, it took me a burnout in music production. The best advices I can give after 5 years of experience, is : 1/ As this man, just strive to make what you'd like to watch/listen (or whatever). You're not special, so if you like your shit, a lot of other people will do. 2/Also, don't give too many importance about non technical feedbacks, if mfs start ranting abt their opinion rather than technical points you could improve, just stop listening
@ddmarkk

well freaking said! i especially love your advice number 2. there's so much noise from people flinging their personal opinions at you masquerading it as a technical constructive feedback

It's been 2 years since I first read Chainsaw Man and I was never able to put into words how creative it made me. Your video perfectly encapsulated it for some reason: it's the feeling of letting loose and having fun, which Tatsuki Fujimoto definitely inspires. Ever since I finished reading part 1 of the manga, almost 80% of my creative works since 2022 have been tied to Chainsaw Man. It's like reading it woke up this primal need to create, without the bullshit of fussing over how good the linework is; it's just about having fun with it. Enjoying the feel of it, the whole process from sketch to finish. As someone who was a Fine Arts graduate and gave up on it to switch into the Medical profession, I find myself going back to lazy Chainsaw Man studies to blow off steam so often. This year, I'm actually considering going back to art full-time, and half of that exciting decision wouldn't have been possible without Chainsaw Man. Somehow it's like getting a pullcord yourself, and triggering it ignites that spark that made you fall in love with art in the first place. I can't thank Tatsuki Fujimoto enough for sharing his work with the world, and can't thank you enough for this video by helping me remember and understand why his works make creatives feel this certain way. More power to you.

Thanks Mark, after watching this vid, you helped me be open for what I would like to draw. For example: Sometimes, before even drawing, I would think of what I would draw. But after having an image, I say to myself; "it's too hard or it's gonna take too long". After you said have fun when drawing or do whatever you want, I realized that I should do what I planned and check if It's awesome. I would mostly do the same sort of drawing over and over every day. So I was getting bored with art itself. And so, I started getting worse. Because of you, I have decided to do whatever I want do draw in my mind. Not just do some simple drawing and call it a day. Thank you Mark

I always worry about my art because I often get barked at about my anatomy and have my mindset all messed up worrying about how to get better and just finally be done with it to focus on trying out some manga works. Something similar happened to me with a different manga called project shade. It's made by an Australian, and the only reason he stopped making chapters is because he won a manga award and he is now working with Japanese manga companies, and he started the manga while he was supposed to be studying. The manga is incredible, and the art, it's like nothing i have seen before. If you thought akutami was rough, this guy is five times rougher and it still looks amazing. Also, since you won the award did someone from mediabang or shueisha contact you? I want to know if the award is real or bull.

I just recently talked to my girlfriend about this realization I had as well. Looking at a lot of indie Japanese and Chinese artists you see this refreshing approach to art where they just have fun and ignore what people want to see. Being in Houston Texas, this makes me feel similar to drawing like my clients (i cut hair) who are kids. Everyone is so hard into grinding out art for attention they lose that artistic freedom and I’m trying to keep it in my work as much as I can 🎉

DD Markk, your words cut deep. Deeper than any double edge sword :) - Slight joke aside, like everyone else in the comments, your videos have changed my life back to being my old self. Being an artist who has a goal of being a mangaka and enjoys drawing and making stories that help others. I found your art podcast with Third and that rivaliry and just having fun together with someone got me out of a long, long artblock where I was aimlessly drawing or putting it to the side longer than I wanted... So what I really want to say to everyone is - LET"S HAVE FUN MAKING MANGA TOGETHER AND LETS SHOW MARKK HOW MANY PEOPLE HE HAS HELPED BY MAKING STORIES WITH HIM

Thank you once again, DD Douchebag, for blessing us with another vid. I wanna give 2 suggestions: 1. How to draw like DD Markk. I love your style as it's just so... refreshing. Seriously, I'm tired of seeing the same boring art. Good job man, keep it up and 2. What are the art fundamentals and how to practice them. Everywhere I see "oh practice the fundamentals". Well what are they and how exactly do I go about practicing them? Anyyyyway, I also wanna add that Ruthless Render chapter 1 was awesome. Kinda took me a while to get used to reading left to right after reading so much traditional manga, but I mean that in a good way. Once again, it's refreshing. Keep it up!

I relate to this so much like i can't even explain how much. Around this time last year i made the decision to combine my love for art and writing into making comics. Not because i wanted the fame or whatever but because i had and still have stories to tell. Since i was so new to the comic/manga industry i just took my time to learn the ropes, understand how to even go about it. Right from then, my one priority was to have fun. I'd go online and see people on my timeline talking about imposter syndrome and burn outs and i would wonder why this never happened to me. It was because art/storytelling for me is an escape, my coping mechanism, i am not doing it to make money, I am doing it because when the world sucks and gets too loud and sad i can always trust my art to lift me up. I am doing my best to meet the standards i have set for me. I joined twitter around may this year and at first i was all about the numbers, the likes, engagements. But then i realised it was not adding anything to me. I don't need some random internet stranger to validate my art. I stopped caring about that. I turned my twitter into a digital diary of sorts. recording my plans and stuff. And i will start a youtube channel as soon as I'm able, to document my art journey so i can look back and see where I've been. This video just confirms something I already know will be my philosophy till I die. Thank you for making it and i hope others with no such enlightenment can watch this and learn from it.

I've read Chainsaw man a total of six times, the first time being in 2020. it is one of few Shonen that I can say with confidence is my favorite. From the cinematic paneling, to the bizarre world and characters, everything about it is like a movie slapped into manga. It's a work that really spoke to me, and gave me more confidence in my strange sense of style and taste in the comics medium and always supported my rhetoric when making comics and art to begin with, that being: make sure your having fun. Great vid.

Just read Ruthless Render, i love the characters and the direction and focus of the story, it instantly captured me with the 1st 3 panels. In comparison to your other works iron might and Ruthless render 2021 on webtoon, this is a home run. Is it in the top 3 of the best things Ive ever read and hits different ,of course not, that honor goes to 1. The Boxer, 2. Alice in Borderlands, and 3. Chainsawman. But...Ruthless Render is in the top of 3 of best things ive Read in 2022, and Ive read 100s of stories. 1.Ghostwriter Time Paradox, 2. Ayashimon, 3. Ruthless Render. Your story has heart and grit. Mission accomplished you got readers to care about your characters, I think, thats always been the point. Thanks for creating, I look forward to reading whatever you release next, and man that was one hell of a cliffhanger in Ruthless Render. Keep having fun Champ.

I was a manga addict since elementary school til I graduate from university but at one point I kinda feel bored to read manga and never touch any of it again for almost 5yrs. It's so easy to be blinded by the numbers and insane goals I've set for myself, and ofc you forget to have fun in the first place it makes sense what doesn't make sense is why keep torturing yourself to keep doing things you hate doing as if struggling more would take you to your goals faster Imma change my bio now thanks for the idea.

With the stress of working my job I just don't have the energy or will to draw. All my energy goes into my job and after work I just wind down doing youtube videos while dreading the next day of work. The most fun I had in the last 7 years was taking 3 weeks off to make a manga for a contest. I can't I afford to take time off now, but that one is purely my fault for not making sure I had substantial savings. OTL Kinda forgotten what the fun of drawing is like. Maybe I can find a better job or way to make money without having to do a typical job. I don't know if it could be by drawing something, though, because of my lack of confidence.

For me its hard to have fun doing art. I still got 2 years of school to go (for some reason in my country you have to do an extra year depending on what you're studying) So im to tired to draw at home. I am currently doing graphic design (making websites and stuff) Wich is far from what I actually want to do. That being Animation. Do/Did some of you have the same problem, or is it just me.
