I completely agree, I think his one on one finishing is actually quite good, but his in the box play is poor. His forward positioning is semi at best. And he misses sitters often. And the. You look at his hold up play and dribbling is phenomenal. If he had a strike partner he would be so much better and as a winger? On the right instead of noni? Would cook for sure

For Jackson..don't get me wrong. He should be better in front of the goal but the truth is we do not have premium passers in the midfield..Guys need to pass it to the striker in favorable moments that may make the striker look better..We need that Fabregas touch in that midfield,..or Franky touch from time to time...That goes a long way especially for young striker.

When you see Sanchez had more touches of the ball than our striker, that's a tactical issue. When you KNOW how bad he is in the ball, you should be trying to limit how much you use him, but clearly Maresca is determined to stick to his style which incorporates the keeper in the build up play. It makes no sense. If you had a 5' 8" striker with a 1 foot vertical, you wouldn't keep putting in crosses to him, so why would you keep using Sanchez for his feet when he isn't capable of making comfortable passes consistently?

Imho our bad results and lack od ingame management by Maresca, were Maresca's statement to the board "told you this squad isn't enough. Do you see now? I don't have enough wingers, don't have backup striker etc". That's why he wasn't even testing Palmer as RW and Felix/Nkunku as false 9 behind Jackson. As much as i liked Maresca from start of the season, for being very proactive, now i start to have mixed feelings about him. I get it, he wants players better suited to his game, but instead of going "i'm doing better than expected, plz support me more, bring 2-3 players that i want and we'll be in the race for rest of season" he went for being a diva and trying to prove his point by not doing what's in his power, to get best results that he could get with this squad.

We don't need to buy more players, especially not Garnacho. Estevao is coming in the summer, like we seem to forget. Atleast we have to sell some players before we buy any. Petrovic and Santos back in the summer, and we have a major upgrade in the net, and Santos is going to explode in the PL, I am very excited when we are going to watch him when he comes back. So happy for Trev though, he is the best center back we have right now, no doubt.

I am sorry George but it was never a great win, but a win against one of the worst teams in the PL. The defence generally did very well, apart from the poorest GK in the PL. However, Chelsea were impotent up front and none of the forwards/midfielders looked like scoring. Jackson is on repeat, unable to score in late December and January. Chelsea can never be a serous top 4 team until they find better players for No 1 and No 9 as both are only good enough for a mid table team at the best, for example they would fit in well at Spurs. If the recruitment team cannot see these weaknesses then they are clueless and explains why so much money has been spent on very average players. As regards French defenders who turned out to be awful, we must included the earlier Sarr, Malang Sarr.

Very glad Trevo had a good game. But having a good game doesn’t make him the best CB on earth. He wasn’t even the best CB on Palace. He’s good. He’s solid. None of us know exactly what the club was trying to do by shipping Trev off but it looks like they did so to try to manage finances to enable us to avoid sanctions and/or free us up to get BETTER players. And it’s dumb to think that if Trev was as great as lots of KZbin content providers are acting now, we’d be inundated with offers to buy him. Clearly, we have not been. Smart to bring him back under the circumstances but if we were 100% healthy, who do you start him over in our back line? Wesley? Colwill? James? No. So he’s a high quality substitute for Chelsea. None of this is to take anything away from Trev’s performance vs. Wolves. But before we start saying he’s the second coming of JT, let’s see how he does in a run of games. Finally, if 2 of our starting quality midfielders are out for a while, look for us to recall Leslie from Southampton.
