Exactly! That's why the Taliban is on their payroll. The C.C.P. is using them as a proxy to illegally obtain Afghanistan's vast Lithium supplies. The Taliban will be "hiring" local Afghans to mine it for them which in turn will be put on train cars and sent to China to be used in Electric Vehicles and other Renewable technologies. The C.C.P. and the Taliban will never admit it though. Biden embarrassingly gave China control of Afghanistan as collateral for all the debt we owe them. Sum ting wong here.

The Chinese are looking for an alternative to shipping through the Malacca straights. Overland through Afghanistan is one of those options. They’re already trying the same thing through Pakistan and were looking to do it through Myanmar but the latter isn’t currently feasible. Good interview!
