Czech guy here. Great to hear from Tim about our guys. It is so funny listening people from US talking about Czech Rep.. They think it is so hardcore dangerous place like Chechny or something, but the reality is exact opposite. In fact average Czech person would see places like US extremely dangerous place full of gun, gang crimes etc.. There is non of that in Czech Republic. For example when the mass murderer Andreas Breivik wanted to buy guns for the killings he went to Czech Rep. thinking the same thing. That is is some crazy ex soviet country where he will find some long guns very easily.. But he really soon realized that it is not the case. He couldn't believe how safe that place was. So he had to buy the guns somewhere else.. Btw that is the case for Poland as well. Extremely safe place. Poland, CZ much safer than US, UK, France, Germany.. There is basically zero migrants in comparison with other countries, basically no gun crimes, zero gangs, no dangerous places, no NO GO zones etc.. Anyways the thing is because Czech Republic is not in war with anyone directly. Czech guys can't and will not experience war like guys from US, UK etc. can. Where you can be 20yo kid with something like 6-12 moths of training and deploy to war zone as infantry soldier or something like that.. The only way for Czech dude to go fighting is to be a member of some kind of special forces unit. So you can be sand on some NATO missions around the world. So I think that is the reason why all the guys in Czech SF units are so motivated to go fight.. It is the same for Poland and other European countries.. Btw 5:28 are you kidding me? They all have perfect english. 🙂You can't be stupid guy who can't even learn english to be in SF unit here.. You have to have high school..

In modern times both Czech and Polish experience with foreign oppression goes back through SOVIET occupation/control to Nazi occupation and in the case of Poland an unholy SOVIET/Nazi split pre Barbarossa from the start of WW2 and in the case of the Czechs pre WW2 Nazi occupation. Understandable that both Poles and Czechs are very keen on protecting their fairly new freedom and democracies. Incidentally, both Polish and Czech units on air, sea and land fought very well under British Commands during WW2.

I get what you mean and i partially agree. Both Czech and Poles have very bad history with Nazis and Soviets, but somewhat different. I think the current determination of Czech army stems from the history of their inability to act due to political leadership. In 1938 when Germany was set to occupy Sudetenland, our army was ordered to stand down by then president, even tho they were fully prepared to fight. The same thing happened in 1968 when Soviets came. The army was once again ordered to not resist the occupation. Due to this, current army sentiment in CZ is to fight and protect at all costs so that we don’t redo the same mistakes we did. The feeling of that kind of helplessness is horrible.

Gotta love these stories of fighting untrained amateurs with zero equipment and rusty old AK's, presented as some sort of a tough fight, or a fair fight. Imagine actually fighting someone who knows what they're doing and who isn't outgunned by you and your equipment like 20 to 1.

Most European countries, especially NATO members do have some English language in school. When I've traveled I help my friends kids with "real English" as the teachers give them a basic, mostly grammatically correct base but it's not really the spoken form. Kind of a mix of Old English and American English from a textbook.

Maybe he meant Celtic blood lol (Bohemia was land of the Boi, homeland of the Celts). Though today they're a large portion Slavic mixed with a third celtic/Germanic and a hodgepodge of other genes. Literally central Europeans
@vermull19
@vermull19 2 ай бұрын
It is just a simile. It has nothing to do with genetics (although thanks to the Vikings being hired by the Czech nobility and then thanks to the Swedes during the 30 years war we have about 12% Nordic blood, but that's beside the point) It's similar to what the Czechs commonly use so it wouldn't surprise me if he heard it directly from them. It is common to say "he has fight in his blood/he has warrior's blood", he has blue blood=nobleman, he has green blood=hunter, he is of our/foreign blood=man from the same club, city or state/foreigner...

One of the most bad asses were lithuanian Aitvaras special forces. Had nickname of hells angels, rolled out only in armor, no tshirts etc. First ones to use motorbikes in afganistan for super quick attacks, and then disappear. I heard stories they were most feared by taliban. Taliban fear them big time, called them ghosts, quick attacks, disappear, and appear from different angles to finish off. Would be great to hear some stories from americans.
