The QBZ 95 is part of military history. It's the smallest and most lightweight Bullpup out there. The QBZ 95 has distinct curved magazine and top carrying handle. This was a point of pride for the Peoples Liberation Army when they first showed it off in Hong Kong in 1997.
The PLA has been using this as their primary weapon every since. But is it all it's cracked up to be? Why are they moving away from this bullpup in favor of a traditional firearm? Lets find out in this episode of Task & Purpose.

@@somerandommen New versions of the QBZ-95 are still being produced alongside QBZ-191, and it's still available for export in both -95 and -97 versions. The replacement is expected to take around a decade. The Chinese actually have a tendency to replace their primary rifle every 20 years or so. This is kinda obvious if you look at the Type numbers. From 56 to 81 is 25 years. From 81 to 95 is 14 years, and from 95 to 191 is 24 years. Right now only the PLA and (strangely enough) Rocket Force are actually doing the conversion. The PLAAF, PLAN, and PLAMC are still slinging newer production -95s with Pic rails and shortened barrels. Similarly, the PAP don't seem to be in a hurry to switch. I imagine for these services who expect to always fight under armor or in tight spaces the QBZ-95 is still the better option.

Have handled the QBZ-95 at a PLA open day, a few notes from 10 or so minutes I spent messing around with it: - First thing I noticed was its absurdly light weight especially after four years lugging around the 5kg SA80, the QBZ genuinely felt as light as a nerf gun though the polymer was pretty solid, however the rifle's body itself felt strangely hollow. I wouldnt worry about bashing an enemy over the head with one, though it likely wont do any damage. - Second was ergonomics, the QBZ has the worst placed primary safety and fire selector of any assault rifle on earth, being on the rear left side of the rifle next to the buttstock, this means you have to use your left off-hand to reach back and twist a small circular knob to put the rifle on safe, semi or full auto. The newer QBZ-95-1 does fix this somewhat by having a small thumb safety next to the trigger accessible to your right hand without letting go of the grip, but the terribly designed circular knob for semi/auto remains. - The trigger is surprisingly light for a bullpup but still mushy, I never got to shoot it so I cant tell you how it felt to put rounds through. - The carry handle is pretty huge with a significant height over bore, this means you can barely get a cheek weld when using irons and none at all with optics, your entire head and neck will be completely exposed if you fire this rifle from behind cover. - The QBZ-95 uses a proprietary 5.8x42 curved magazine that rocks and locks like an AK but sits slightly deeper in the rifle, however being a bullup the curve of the magazine brings it uncomfortably close to the trigger grip in front which reduces the space you can rock the mag without hitting it. This makes reloading the 95 a bit of a nightmare as instead of easily rocking and locking like an AK you have to carefully seat the front of the mag without tilting it too far forward to hit the grip, THEN rock it back, a very low margin of error that requires far more muscle memory to do quickly than both the AR or AK. Ultimately its a rifle made by a team that was ordered to design, build, test and manufacture an entirely new rifle family and cartridge from scratch in less than two years and it shows in the dreadful ergonomics, if anything I'm impressed that it wasnt worse given the bad hand the design team was left with.

I don't believe it's a combat rifle, but something to controlling civilian populations. Even in the West, the rifle has been responsible for less than 15% of enemies killed since WW1. About 80% were killed from some explosive device.

One thing about their Korean war tactics, they specifically did this strategy is because they lacked artillery and air support. If they wanted any chance of pushing the US army back, they need to get close. I would say it's a genius tactic, as in boxing, the shorter guy would want to minimize the distance and fight inside, effectively neutralizing the taller opponent's advantage. The footage they shown are reserves wearing training gear. Take a look at the recent clash with the Indians in the Himalayas, all of them have body armor but NV mount was missing on their helmets. Presumably due to the agreement between the two countries where they can't use guns in any clashes so they don't really worry.

@@minmean3016 definitely very biased. I don't think he even knows about the "3-3" assault tactic, which many (including crappy chinese movie directors) falsely attribute as "human wave". Such mass casualties would also be completely unacceptable in the modern day and if any general decides to do such stupid things they're likely to not be general anymore. One of the factors that helped the PLA defeat Vietnam in 1979 was the emphasis on modern tactics, Chinese commanders literally did grab all the artillery they could and pull a van fleet as opposed to the more primitive fighting style seen in Korea.

@@real_dddf Agreed, although I don't think is correct to say that PLA was defeated in Vietnam. Similar to the 1962 war with India, their goal is to capture strategic points, deliver defeat to their enemies' army and then retreat. It was well known that PLA has massive supply chain and logistics issues. Meaning that they are very effective in capturing targets but cannot hold it for the life of them. They retreated from India during 1962 due to lack of railway to ship supplies to the front lines and similar thing happened in Vietnam. I was surprised that they pushed as deep as they did in Vietnam considering these issues were well known to them from their experience in the two war/clashes with India. However, now with their high speed rail way established in Laos, should a conflict between the Chinese and Vietnamese occur again, supply and logistics won't be an issue. Similarly can be said regarding their Aksai Chin highway and Sichuan Tibetan Railway.

Although I do somewhat agree with the video regarding Chinese military gear, it's probably 0.5 - 1 gen behind the US. By gear I mean troop combat gear rather than military hardware like missiles, war ships/ACs, subs and tanks.

I appreciate that you're encouraging your audience to respect the Chinese military. In the past, we've underestimated Asian countries and paid for it with lives (Japan and Vietnam, specifically). They're smart. Definitely smart enough to realize that they would be unlikely to build something from scratch and expect it to do as well as tested designs, so they copy. Their lack of experience, too, will become less important if a war happens. Do not forget that upon entering WWI and WWII, the US was incredibly green and had equipment and tactics horribly unprepared for what they would face, but within a year, we were doing fine. Same will go for China.

QBZ-03 never went anywhere. The units testing it swapped out for -95s in the mid-2010s. Also, it's a myth that the QBZ-03 was "more familiar" to the troops used to -81s. The gun handles VERY differently from the earlier guns and internally it shares zero commonality with any other Chinese gun in service at the time or before. What people may not realize is that by 2005 when the -03 was at its most widespread distribution, less than 12% of the actual PLA had any familiarity with the older patterns of firearms. Most of these 12% were then moved over to PAP in Hu Jintao's reform era. The troops currently receiving -191s are either special formations or newly raised brigades thanks to Xi Jinping's military reforms. Many of the youngest members of these units were trained on the -191 itself, because the gun was already available in 2018.

I have the civilian variant of this rifle (t97 nsr) chambered in 5.56 and I honestly love it, my rifle has been extremely accurate and I've never had a jam even with light hand loads and steel case ammo. Long spongy trigger but you get used to it and the recoil is almost non existent especially after a day at the range shooting 8mm Mauser lmao

My dad was in the army before WWII started. He was a left hander, and was issued bolt action rifles, and told to shoot right handed. He pretty much ignored that and fired a right handed bolt rifle left handed, reaching to actuate the bolt. Soldiers adapt. Great video!

Living in Canada, it’s still legal to buy and own these rifles. I own a civilianized Norinco T97 Gen 2 in 5.56 without the top rail and like it. I’ve put a lot of rounds down range with both my T97 and my AR15, and I actually enjoy shooting the T97 more. It takes a bit of getting used to the bull pup mag location, but I also own a 12 gauge semiauto Canuck Spectre and you get faster the more you use them. The T97 throws the brass against the side of the shooting stall with incredible force, compared to the AR (the standing joke on Canadian ranges is that they’re trying to return the brass to China) so I never fire it without wearing a hoodie pulled up over my head - getting scalding hot brass down your shirt hurts like hell. I took my son’s girlfriend out one day and taught her to shoot, and when I realized that she shot as a leftie, I watched her like a hawk to make sure that she didn’t blow her lip off - I’ve heard that’s something you only do once. Anyway, nice little semi-auto carbine that’s fun to shoot, the Gen 2 version allows installation of optics so I have a red dot and a magnifier on it, and it’s a lot easier to clean than my AR. The Chinese have shifted from large minimally trained army to a smaller more professional one starting from the 2000s. Also technically the Chinese weren't using human wave attacks in Korea. It would seem like one on the receiving end but there was a bit more nuance to the tactics involved. It was still a tactic that involved a significant disregard for casualties regardless.

That's not something you would think of when you are fighting a war with a country of the same size...

a friend of mine was a PLA soldier. He told me QBZ is built cheap enough to be a consumable item in their daily training. In actual combat scenario, each squad has an armed vechicle with auto-aim machine gun and rockets. He just need to tap on a screen to let the machine do the killing.

I've got the Gen 3 and I love it. They've addressed many of the big issues from the Gen 1. Was even able to make a buckshee casing deflector, out of Kydex, to allow my buddy to use it left handed.

The type-88 sniper rifle, which is a 5.8 machinegun cartridge DMR shot less accurate than standard m16a2 according to their tests... So ordinary 5.8 rifle cartridge must be even worse. Might be in m193 level. As I have heard, many Chinese soldiers served 2 years but still have no clue about adjusting 95-1 iron sight. Only the story teller's squad leader could help them.

​@@dickiewongtk Correct. Only armorers and squad leaders were trained and allowed to adjust sights. Or at least that was the case until recently. All the QBZ-191s in service have been issued with optics, so presumably they've trained the users to maintain and calibrate them.

I kinda dig this rifle. More modernized versions are pretty damn nice, even if they feel a little "cheap." Sometimes the upper and lower aren't perfectly mated with each other, but all the important stuff is very well built -- the body is really just there to give you something to hold and it does that well enough. Also the aftermarket support is surprisingly well developed from the civilian perspective with plentiful access to nice features like flattop kits and molded brass deflectors. Even the triggers can be improved enough that they're quite crisp. Overall I like the platform. It's a good fit for China's small arms needs but it also offers a lot of flexibility for civilian users.

I'm not going to comment on anything political as everyone is entitled their own opinion. Just from a pure military tactic side I would like to try to provide a point of view that is the general consensus among Chinese civilians who is interested in military tech, i.e. the people who would subscribe to the Chinese version of this kind of channel: U.S. side: Imagine you are a U.S. army infantry man in combat. What's your biggest fear? Is it that enemy planes bomb the hell out of you? Is it that enemy ships blocking your supply line that you will starve to death? I have met a lot of U.S. veterans and I can tell the above concerns doesn't even come up in their mind. The real fear is that the enemy infantry hiding in a dark corner getting you before the friendly planes/helicopters/drones etc. can support you. So it is natural for U.S. army to invest heavily on infantry equipment to milk out every last ounce of tactical advantage. Chinese side: Now imagine you are a PLA infantry man in combat. What is your biggest fear? It will be the enemy planes/ships/drones/helicopters that massacre you in mass before you even see them. So if you have some money in your military budget, do you think it is a better idea to spend it in better planes/ships/AA missiles so there is a less chance the solider get massacred or on better small arms/optics/NV equipment so you can have an advantage in the unlikely event of facing the enemy infantry? Which is going to save more life? So China's defense budget has been heavily tilted toward Air Force and Navy for the past 30 years, which is generally considered a correct move. I usually don't comment on social media because I don't think one could ever change another's opinion. But this time I hope I'm wrong. I'm just tired of seeing this repeated comment on Chinese soldiers don't care about lives because they have so many people. Well for one China will not be the largest population in the world for long, that title goes to India pretty soon. And more importantly, Chinese people are also people, they cherish the beauty of life and fear the horror of death like any single one of you. And just like U.S., every single soldier, from private to general, are ordinary Chinese. It's just that in the first half of the 20th century they have been fighting desperately to defend their countries, so the choice was either sacrifice one self or run away and let the enemy occupying force slaughter him and his family together. If you look at modern engagements the accuracy of the rifle is largely ignored because 95% of the shots all miss. You'll never get to aim at the enemy and even if you do they're too far away. Even the m4 have trouble hitting their targets and have to rely on marksman rifles. Modern rifles are essentially suppressive tools while your artillery or mortar gets their coordinates ready for firing. Once you get to medium range engagement distances the accuracy doesnt matter as much because even the post inaccurate ak47 can hit their targets at that distance.

Go look up Forgotten Weapons' videos on the Type-97. These guns aren't simple at all inside, and you sure as heck don't want a hastily trained soldier try to disassemble this complex firearm. The QBZ-95 has more parts than any AR variant and must have more parts removed from it to effect proper field-stripping. This is actually one reason why they switched to the QBZ-191, which is basically just a piston AR.

The rifle is the inevitable conclusion of, "good on paper, bad in practice", like most bullpups are. There's a reason why most countries that have adopted bullpups are leaning away from them, and why their more elite units with autonomy in choosing their own gear go with conventional rifle designs. China has obviously seen that this design isn't all that great and it's why they're moving away from it.

That "QBZ-95-1" in your video at 10:26 is not a QBZ-95-1, but a T97 G2, a 5.56 commercial model available in Canada. The PLA has a number of nice looking pic rail adapters but they have always required that the carry handle sights be retained. To my knowledge, there are no QBZ-95s with flat tops. It has a FAMAS style recoil dampener, but I don't see how that would affect accuracy. The rifle itself is fairly accurate, but the linear hammer has a REALLY long distance to travel and so if not lubricated properly, it actually has a perceptible lock time, like a musket would. This makes it difficult to actually shoot the rifle accurately.

QBZ95 is a very old design. The lastest is called QBZ191, which resembles AR15 or AR18. China focuses on large weapon system, such as Aircraft carriors and missiles, satelites, won't put too much effort on soldier's rifles. (They don't care about individual soldier's life, LOL)

I don't have a background in military science, but I feel like this video excessively relies on the archetype of the PLAGF as a mass army, even though they've been downsizing, professionalizing, rapidly modernizing, and being quite introspective with their doctrine over the past decades since the Gulf War. Their active personnel number is barely twice that of the US Army's, and there hasn't been a functioning conscription or reserve force system in quite a while - high schoolers and college cadre doing rifle drills and marching sessions don't really count. Would have liked to see some statistical background for your explanation of PLAGF doctrine.

That's not really the same. It was precluded by artillery and air superiority, covered by paratroops and a deception campaign, and done specifically as a beach landing. The korean human wave tactics lacked the vast majority of these, and were unthinkable to western thought by then.

Chosin Reservoir is an example how they use their infiltration techniques to commence surprise attacks against the American. During battle they tend to divide themselves into fireteams which were around 100ft apart from each other, so technically the attacks weren't even human waves. However, the sheer number of the PVA and the commitment of its field commanders (who tended to send additional forces if an offensive was not completed before the forces were depleted) gave the impression of "human waves." The PLA/PVA in the 50s and early 60s had no firepower or air superiority so they had to solely rely on deception and shock, and was one of the best armies in history regarding deception and camouflage.

Lol human wave tactics was used by the Iranians in Iran Iraq war, in Korea the Chinese had very good light infantry tactics that gave the UN combined armed armies with air superiority and complete naval supremacy a run for their money. Their mobility, night infiltration, flanking and squad tactics were excellent. Despite lacking any support larger than mortars and light artillery they routed UN forces several times, if they had the same air, arty and armor support from USSR like the UN forces enjoyed they would have done much better.

Like from the perspective of the person being attacked yes it looks like a human wave, but there's a lot of setup and it did reduce the casualties suffered by the attacker because the artillery kills more.

But I have to add something(my opinion of course): Their human wave strategies that you stated is absolutely sound, but If you dig into the history of the CCP and how Mao Zhe Dongs forces wiped out Chang Kai Sheks, it wasn't even the human shield tactics that made them the ruthless entity that they are. It was their ability to use strategies based on attrition. In 1940s during the chinese Civil War there was a famous General that blockaded a city rather then fight directly with the military forces that resided there. They did not allow any supply lines to enter or leave the city. Inhabitants were forced to eat dirt and bugs.... They starved the inhabitants into surrender over the course of 4ish months. That's how they fight. They often fight without fighting....

I’m reminded of WWII. The Germans had the best training, an excellent officer corp, and the most advanced weapons at the time. America was the manufacturing monster at the time. For every Panzer tank the Germans could get off the assembly line, America could produce 10 tanks. The Chinese weapons systems don’t have to be good, just good enough. Especially with their numerical superiority. Their numbers make up for their shortfalls in experience, technology (which is quickly catching up) and quality. @electric conductor So I know about the Vietnam skirmish. The reason the Chinese pulled back was because the Soviets had a mutual defense pact with Vietnam. They rolled up military to the Chinese border. My father was in the US Army at the time and they went on alert over this in Okinawa. Those were skirmishes. It wasn’t a full blown war. The Chinese are extremely patient. They also want Taiwan I believe more than we want to defend it. My family came from a communist country. I’ll never forget my cousin telling me that, “In the eyes of our government, our lives are like ants.” The Chinese are willing to take horrific losses over Taiwan. They will build a bridge of broken Chinese corpses from mainland China to Taiwan to retake it. If every single American man, woman, and child took out a counterpart in China, they would STILL have about a Billion people. Their numbers make up for their lack of quality and experience. Numbers isn’t a hoax. It’s a very very real advantage that can of course be overcome of course but with the US divided as it is now? Coming off the heels of a full Afghanistan retreat against a bunch of dudes with old AKs and pajamas? The Chinese have no such issue. If they lost 100 million people taking Taiwan they would still have about 1.2 BILLION people left. Not a problem for a communist country that places no value on individual human lives and controls ALL media in their country while blocking out information from the rest of the world. Over a billion people makes up for a lack of resources and experience.

The rest of the world can adapt to constant cyberhacks and more expensive gadgets, but skyrocketing food prices and collapse of quality would create an explosion of internal unrest that will further distract China's forces. A PRC seizure of Táiwān impresses few others outside the Mainland, and would more likely raise alarms with the rest of the world to divest and disengage from China as fast as practicable -- ultimately China will be stuck too old and unloved to prosper like the unchallenged Party pitched.

In more prosperous times I had a Gen 1 T-97 bullpup in 5.56x45 and at the same time a TAR-21 Tavor. The trigger on the Tavor was horrible, with at least a 12 lb. pull. The Chinese bullpup had aabout a 5 lb. long, spongy trigger pull and shot more accurately with its iron sights than the Tavor with Magpul flip up sights. Later a Canadian soldier who shot competitively told me that the Chinese T-97 actually has a better quality barrel. I ended up having to sell both of them.

Part of the reason I love my SKS, its a Norinco, from before the ban. And of course now, in 2021, I have to contend with the new Russian ammo ban, which effects the 7.62x39mm I need to feed the SKS. Either way, its a gorgeous, well built firearm that I love to shoot.

I know PLA has already switched to QBZ191 but I want to say that 95-1 actually solved most issues that 95 had, like bad ergonomics. 95-1 also has a enhanced rail system named "Chang Gong/ Long Bow". So I would consider it as a pretty decent rifle.

The lack of bullet proof vest is actually an interesting take on modern warfare. Vests are effective up to a distance. When you're in medium-close range, the vest's effectiveness is slowly fading the closer you are and the more it hinders the soldiers actually. There were alot of combat footages of soldiers getting killed by small arms fire at medium range because this is the range where you can unload several ballets into a person-size target. The vests hover around the concept of stopping 1-2 bullets effectively while the follow-up hits will likely to penetrate it, unless you're wearing full-level protection with steel plates. But even then steel plates only protect a small area. One popular footage displaying the ineffectiveness of vests was recorded by insurgency fighters while fighting the modern Turkish army. They were engaging eachother at short to medium range and the Turkish squad got decimated because all the insurgents had to do was shoot at the target 2-3 times(which is like 1 second burst fire) and the vests give up. No doubt the vest offered some level of survivability but the heavy equipments is what allowed those Turkish soldiers to be outmaneuvered and tired out. Since the China army seems to focus on rapid shock-awe tactics, if in theory they were to close in on their enemies, then their lack of bullet-proof vests might eventually turn into an advantage.

Honestly vests also act as a morale booster that tends to make the wearing act more agressive and more likely to push and flank, but yeah China having no vests makes sense since they'd basically be able to cut the costs of having to issue vests and body armor and outfit more men.

The PLA have had enough bulletproof vests to equip all their troops since the mid 2010s. They just never ISSUED those vests to soldiers until very recently. It was never a question of not having enough because NORINCO is literally the world's biggest arms company and the world's biggest manufacturer of ballistic vests. The real problem was the PLA leadership not recognizing that bulletproof vests are not flotation vests. For years they thought that bulletproof vests could just be issued to troops in the event of a shooting war and said troops could just put them on and proceed into battle, like civilians jumping to sea in flotation vests. There was an article in PLA Daily in 2018 about PLA troops participating in the World Military Games (formerly Tank Biathlon) in Russia who reported in shock that they kept screwing up and losing stamina very quickly when forced to maneuver in full body armor. Hearing this from literally the elite of elites in the PLA spurred the generals to actually commission a study about body armor, which resulted in basically every CCTV7 video released today in KZbin showing PLA infantry wearing body armor all the time. The biggest irony in this whole debacle is that the People's Armed Police (PAP) have been using body armor all the time and quite effectively for at least two decades. Every single PAP squad deployed for security during the 2008 Olympic Games wore full body armor. It wasn't like nobody in China understood proper body armor usage. Apparently the army just never talked to the cops.

Rifles are usually zeroed in at 200 m. Soldiers are taught to aim at centre mass (upper torso). At close range (50-150 m) bullets hit higher, resulting in higher chance of headshot than ballistic plate hit. At medium distance (250-350 m) bullets hit lower, resulting in stomach, groin and leg hit. At distances further than 350 m, most soldiers begin to adjust their aim, but only sharpshooters, marksmen and snipers score aimed hits reliably. As such, ballistic plates make most sense at very close distances (up to 50 m), at specific medium distance of 150-250 m or at large distances when encountering snipers, which is usually somewhat rare. Anti-fragmentation vests on the other hand always make sense to wear and reduced casualties to a much greater extent than ballistic plates. Without ballistic plates the vest are lighter resulting in increased soldiers mobility which in turns decreases the time of vulnerability to enemy fire when changing positions and switching from cover to cover.

There is a recent documentary series done by CCTV7 of a PLA female-only light tank platoon and an older one several years ago of an artillery unit in Tibet that was "manned" by Tibetan and Qiang women from Yunnan and Sichuan province. That said, most women in the PLA serve noncombatant roles and could reach very high ranks doing weird civilian jobs. Xi's wife was a brigadier general in the PLA propaganda department. One thing the Chinese did that was very clever was make a carbine, rifle, and LMG variant of the QBZ-95, whereas the M4/M16 had a completely different manual of arms and completely different construction as the M249. Most of the parts and the function of the QBZ and QJB LMG are very similar, making the logistics of fielding and training troops on them much simpler than training troops with running the M4/M16 and M249.

I find the no war experience argument to be very weak. As of today, no military in the world has combat experience fighting a peer high-tech enemy. Before 1991 Gulf War, the US military also haven't had major combat experience since Vietnam. And those 2 wars cannot be more different. Realistic training and doctrine advancement is the ONLY way to prepare for the war of tomorrow, on that front China is no less competent than America, since China can study what America is doing and create countermeasures, the A2/AD strategy is just one of many China has created to counter America in the Western pacific.

In terms of using a mechanized force for an invasion, I agree. However for an individual rifle, recent usage in these small wars is enough to find failure points. We've never seen a QBZ tested in a real firefight, but we've seen thousands of m4s, m16s, aks, etc. The m16 family has been through a bunch of iterations explicitly because of these modern conflicts. Just look at the kit of the gulf War compared to today, they were still mounting optics on m16 carry handles back then. Not to mention the consistent dirt, debris, and abuse the rifles have been through with the near constant usage. I haven't seen any QBZ examples where the finish is worn off and chunks of plastic have been chewed away yet we see dozens of m4s and m16s almost silver from wear and tear. The last time I shot a qual with one, you could rattle it like a maraca. So to say "the US has no war experience" on a video about rifles doesn't make sense to me. Maybe about tanks or aircraft, but even those have been making rounds and teaching us a lot.

Taking a rifle that has not been used, even if they slap pic rail on it doesn't validate the weapon. It may very well be a high quality rifle, but we have no way to determine that. We know from experience that the m16 family can survive some brutal desert environments. The PLA has no such experience. The quality of the rifle is still an unknown.

The army even under a more competent general such as Ridgeway still lost Seoul the South Korean capital with little effort on the Chinese part and it took half a year of defense in depth and rebuilding for it to become a force that could conduct offensives against the now exhausted PVA, even than most attacks weren't successful hence the trench warfare and stalemate. You couldn't win. Even with nukes I doubt it would make a differences and would probably turn Europe communist with Soviet Armies escalating the conflict. Finally it is well know the US exaggerates the casualties their enemies sustained. Official casualty records of the Chinese showed most of the losses were from attrition from weather due to poor equipment rather than American action. Not only that, they are far less than what the South claimed. On the other hands Chinese estimates of American casualties correlates very well with American official records. No amounts of copium would change the fact that the 8th Calvary's color, 31st infantry regiment colors and many more is in a Chinese war museum.

We can get the civilian version of this here in Canada, it's really sort of mediocre. Feels like an airsoft gun and the fit and finish aren't the greatest. Reasonably accurate though. There are aftermarket upper and lower receivers to modernize it and improve it's general ergonomics, handling, and other issues.
