I live in S'pore. Thanks for sharing your wonderful video & showcasing the truth about China. To me as a S'pore Chinese , Western endless preaching of democracy , human rights & freedom of speech has become a very repulsive word , yes , nauseating. Yes , like my middle finger. Its all about me , me , me , i , i , i. Western values have brought about selfishness of individuals , attention seeking egomaniacs , self serving monsters , disrespect for authority & elders & yes , blatant arrogance. All these in turn will lead to bad judgemental attitude & self righteousness. That's why the west is always quick to criticise , quick to condemn , quick to judge , quick to stereotype non-western countries & their people. Also , western senseless freedom of speech allows them to slander , lie & poison without any consequences. The west can call China any derogative & offensive names they want , but i see a Chinese government that's truly working for the people & improving their lives. And yes , alleviating 800+ million people from adject poverty. Remember , the Chinese are a peace loving race. Remember , the Chinese have never exported war , poverty or her values to other nations. Since the start of the New Village and Beautiful Countryside movement some years ago, there has been drastic changes of the appearance of rural villages in China. I've seen a lot of unbelievably beautiful villages all over China. Clean, modern, and with architecture that reflects local cultures. Xi did put a lot of efforts to renovate rural China. He started his career in a rural village in one of the most impoverished provinces. I guess that explains his policy focus.

Trickle down economic has not worked in the west and won’t work in China. China’s policy is a mixed of capitalism, socialism , individualism in a rules based society. You can’t expect the rich to help lead the poor to get rich. It hasn’t happened in the west. It is not likely to happen in China. The west sustain their wealth to keep its local population contempt and distracted enough by exporting poverty. This is why the rich nations so despair in control of world economy. US debt becomes world debt. US can print money to support their deficit and trade that other countries can’t.

作为一个西部地区农村长大的，表示我们国家近三十年进步真的是太大了。虽然我们老家的农村水平还远没有达到像浙江农村这样的水平。但是各方面都比以前好太多。基本上每个村都通了柏油路，家家户户都是两三层楼的房子，院子里面都有自己的小汽车。村子里面还有一些体育健身设施，有集中回收垃圾的地方，有医务室，等等等等。这些在我小时候是完全不敢想的。那个时候唯一的想法就是好好读书走出农村😂

I hope they won't be left abandoned after a few years and that the next generation of people will make use of them. Helping people to move from cities to rural areas will be very important in the future. Bellissime case, anche l'Italia cresceva tanto negli anni '60, tanti meridionali hanno costruito o iniziato a costruire ville e case bellissime ma poi i loro figli non sono andati ad abitarci e ora è tutto abbandonato. Spero che non succeda nulla di simile anche ai cinesi, ma vedendo l'età media della gente di quel villaggio non sono così ottimista.

虽然这么说现在听起来还有点夸张，但.中国的目标是把全国的村子都建设成江浙农村的样子，干净 漂亮 富足 可持续发展 希望有一天真的可以实现！ 如果我记得顺序没错的话 这项农村发展计划已经持续了近20年了 虽然名字不同 但做的事情是持续的 一开始叫移民村 异地搬迁、 后来叫村村通 、再后来叫新农村 、现在叫美丽乡村建设 从最初的为了改善生存环境 解决温饱 逐渐到现在的改善生活环境 注重经济收入和环保规划 丰富精神文化生活。 改变很大了 希望继续努力发展 任重道远呢。

You said “let’s go see what other foreigners think about Chinese village” ( something along the line) then it jumps to another foreign Chinese KZbinr I assume you want the narrative to be unbiased or convincing. It’s probably better to be upfront that this person being interviewed isn’t some random pedestrian that you just ran into, instead, he’s another KZbinr doing content about China( which I love). 💙💙

i believe the best example is the "cliff villages" in Sichuan province. it is one of the poorest area in china. the govt builds apartments and relocates the "cliff villages" residents to there. i have seen mainland Chinese vloggers videos about the transformation of these villagers' lives. not affluent like what i see here, but from dirt poor condition to very clean and new apartments. not only this, but the govt also has some kind of training programs to help the villagers to better themselves. love from canada.

Sorry, but with your video, if something is too good to be true then it usually is. And that applies anywhere. Most of the world would not class it as a 'Rural Village' by most definitions. Even in Italy. Careful observation of the condition of all the people, in-good repair buildings, the gated communities, the walls, the shops, the essential services, the roads, the bridges, the multi-story factories (Did not realize all those factories, road bridges, and gated communities were part of the 'Rural Village Improvement Program), buildings and other details in the background indicates it has all the trademarks of a neighborhood in a town or city and not some real 'once poor' rural village, unless they razed the village to the ground and rebuilt it, plus added major factories and major road networks to carry all that freight transport seen in the background. And how are all those being financed? The government of the poor rural village people? Pretty major investment for a little old 'poor rural village' of just a few 1000 people. And they must all have nice new non-poor rural village paying jobs, based on the observed vehicles and nice clean clothes. We also really have five poor rural village residents living in a four-story villa paid for by who!!. Clearly, money has been invested in rural China and I am aware of the 'Rural Village Improvement Program', but this video rings hollow and seems to echo propaganda created for the world outside the CCP controlled areas. Amazed to see so many taken in by such videos.

What do you gain by insisting on China must be poor and any report on the true condition of China is CPC (Not CCP as most China haters would use) propaganda? Nothing. China will not become poorer as haters wish nor will it collapse as haters wish. The western countries should focus on building their own countries and improving their own people’s life rather than trying to talk down China. China can never be talked down.

@@josephdewuhan Why do you manipulate the meaning and intent of my post to suit your own agenda. Having to infer that I said things I did not, so you can prove a point is desperation on your part. China is not poor in many ways and some of China's modern accomplishments are world-leading. The point raised was how the CPC seemed to use propaganda to warp or distort the truth about the 'Rural Village' program. Make it out to be better than it typically is. The Chinese concept of “face” (aka 面子 or miànzi) is a common example where the truth can be warped to 'save face' and I am sure you have seen how it can affect the facts or truth of a situation or event. Please, remember, the use of the term 'Chinese Communist Party (CCP)' is not a derogatory term when used instead of mentioning the 'Communist Party of China (CPC)', unless people like you again try to manipulate the use as something derogatory to fit your agenda. And many of us have the capacity to recognize and separate the facts that the actions of the CCP (CPC) do not reflect upon the people of China as they are given little choice as to how China is governed. I mention that because people like you usually tried to infer that we are questioning the Chinese people when it is the CPC (CCP) that we question. It seems that by suggesting that we are automatically attacking the Chinese people when we question the CPC then such as you can use that as propaganda to generate more hate, etc amongst fellow Chinese. On the point of which country has faults, even with my loyalty being shared between two western countries, I publically recognize (and am ashamed at times) their dark history and questionable actions even now. Much of my ability is down to how both less-than-perfect countries have been and are governed in a manner, allowing me to have 'reasonable' freedom of mind, freedom of speech, and freedom of action. That includes 'reasonable' open protest again both governments. Such freedoms that the ordinary person, based on sources from within China, finds quite restricted under the CPC. And what do you exactly mean by the line 'China can never be talked down'?. How does that mindset help the diplomatic attitude of the CPC (China) when it comes to joining the rest of the world's countries. True diplomacy will only work with most of the world's countries, instead of being bribed with handing out massive 'debt-creating loans to poor countries or using the suggested threat of force. That final line of yours only reinforces the potential risk that you have been brain-washed, etc. Just like how the USA and the USSR brain-washed their citizens during the cold war that the people of both countries hated each other and planned to destroy each other's country. All that fear and hate is generated in the ordinary person on both sides by the people in charge. I suspect the CPC is doing the same thing all over again. If anything the majority of the world has issues with certain actions of the CPC and NOT the Chinese people, but the CPC properganda being pushed is that if we question the CPC's actions we are attacking China as a whole and want to destroy it. No wonder you come across as you do. Maybe in a free country, you could really learn about how propaganda has been used by many countries to brainwash and manipulate the minds of the ordinary people to do the politician's bidding, in the name of the country. Then you could reflect upon some of what the CPC does at home and abroad.

我老家也是农村，不是柏油路，是混凝土路，很结实，通了天然气，做饭不用大锅了，冬天也是燃气采暖，家家院子里都有自己的卫生间，都是坐便那种，电热水器可以随时洗澡，自来水感觉打有狗那年就有了，大院子，下完雨的空气很舒服。只是不像浙江，我们不让盖二三层，要是让盖，早就都是别墅了。

It's not relevant to talk about per capital income in China, particularly rural areas, their per capital income may be low by western standards but their houses, the infrastructures, Medicare, education, the quality of life, etc, etc are much like rich people even in the West!

Villages in ZheJiang are quite different. Even in the past, i mean maybe several hundreds years ago, ZheJiang, or let us say JiangNan region are very rich. I am also from one of those village. 20 kilometers away from WestLake. But China is so big, There are still many poor villages in rural areas in the northwest of China. By the way, one of the woman said you are very beautiful in dialect. She said: 你相貌很好的！That is a dialect saying of you are beautiful.

浙江农村是真的很多都挺好的，江苏南部苏南也不错，苏北穷一些，我家就是苏北下面小县城的，外婆家是县城下面的村里的，小时候看那里都是土路土房子，后来大概零几年吧，很多人家就住了2层小楼那种了，不过没有浙江的漂亮，就是没多少装饰的普通小楼，路也都是水泥路了，交通也方便多了。

2016我们村的新农村建设就建设好了，住进去有几年了，和这个房子差不多，但是颜色和格局全是一样的，在湖南岳阳县我们村是第一批，近些年我们村附近已经开始好多批新农村建设了，我们村一共建了80多栋，国家补贴，图纸也是国家出，一条龙照着做就行了。

You need to visit real rural areas, not showing some rich houses with tones of grills in windows. Many rural houses have no floor nor heating. People live as if it were still the middle age.
