maybe they should use the LIV model and use a shotgun start.

Scheffler definitely caught the better tee times. I hope Aberg can learn from his mistakes on the 15th hole. Scheffler gained 5 shots on Aberg at the 15th hole, meaning Aberg outplayed Scheffler on the other 17 holes around the course. Obviously the 11th hole on Sunday hurt Aberg as well. Gotta stay out of that water! Hopefully the kid learned some valuable lessons. He has massive potential IMHO.

I was expecting to see Cam Smith go on a serious run on Saturday and/or Sunday, particularly Sunday. He was burning the edges with so many putts on Saturday it was unreal, then on Sunday he gets that eagle on 2 and I'm like here we go it's on now......then he proceeds to par basically every hole and burn more edges just like Saturday.....couldn't believe it. He should have got to 7 or 8 under.

I was frustrated with Bryson as my pick this year. In many aspects he was on the money but seemed to hit a mental block at some points. Maybe he needs a new 60 though as you mentioned he has mostly likely tested some in the off-season. I would propose he needs a new caddy. Maybe a canny Scotsman ( or a Kiwi if you know any) watching his YT channel it seems he has the full repertoire and in abundance. But he needs a caddy to pick him the right shot at the right time. And if all else fails then he needs to team up with Dan Grieve. It would be great for both of their channels.

Guessing mebbe them A-voda ir-ons needed to be a little bit more broke in. Next year Bryson should have it worked out.

They are simply using a tennis system draw for a higher seated player. I agree that the t times do help tremendously with recovery and greens conditions etc…

No one makes a bigger deal about tee times than the thinking man show. I do believe in the name of fairness tee times should be random and transparent for big championships. Not hand selected for tv or any other reasons. That being said if any tournament should play god with the tee times, maybe it’s this one. I love Livs shotgun starts and I do think other tours should try it but I do not think the masters should. It was a solid masters. Imo. Sheffler is great but him running away with it over a bunch of guys we would like to see win a jacket -Bryson, max, Collin, even Aberg and others was a letdown. The problem for golf is a lot of top players are boring compared to Tiger. Tiger loooked pretty solid himself. Needless to say the lack of competitive reps as he would call it did not help. Btw as for the Bryson talk dj keeps his trackman work very simple. Mostly Carry numbers with different length partial shots he hits. Bryson does stuff like that. But I totally agree not having a short shaft in his highest lofted wedge is a problem. He says he gets advantages from the longer shaft on that club, but it’s just not adding. It is very arguable that Bryson could have won with a regular wedge.

Here we are….at the crossroads of life……that LIV. Those guys have shotgun starts…..that’s just not a real tournament….. we here at the PGA have tee times, because that’s the real way to play….🥵. Cmon. Give me a break. Shotgun start for all!!!! No favorites, all those poor saps sitting on the 16th hole. Waiting for hours till someone shows up….

@@matthewperry2767 I’m saying the shotgun starts are ridiculous. This is pro golf. Shotgun starts are typically played in amateur tournaments. 54 holes is ridiculous. That’s what the seniors play. LIV too tired to play 72? And what EXACTLY are they playing for. Spoiled private jet millionaires trying to become richer? How is that exciting

@@Macattack11639 But besides the fact that they’re used at your company scrabble, what about a shotgun start invalidates a tournament? Why is everyone playing the same course under the same weather conditions a ridiculous thought process? Imagine if you one baseball team got to bat in perfect conditions and the other had to bat in the cold with rain and wind. How would that determine who really is the best team?

This is such a ridiculous take. I did some actual math and found the following: The top 14 players (according to pre-tournament betting odds) with early/late tee times (including Scheffler, McIlroy, Rahm, Clark, Schauffele, Zalatoris, Matsuyama, Hovland, Niemann, Cam Smith, Thomas, Cantlay, Finau, and DeChambeau) had a scoring average on the first two days of 146.7. The top 14 players (again according to betting odds) with late/early tee times (including Keopka, Spieth, Aberg, Morikawa, Johnson, Harman, Lowry, Homa, Young, Burns, Theegala, Fleetwood, Hatton and Kim) had a scoring average of 147. That is a difference of 0.3 strokes, which I'd hardly call an advantage at all, especially when you look at the strength of the E/L group over the L/E group.

Bryson playes the left dash prov1x which is the low spin model so that he can maximize his driver distance
@SiLoMixMaster
@SiLoMixMaster 2 ай бұрын
I haven't used the left dash, but for me the pro v1x is not great around the greens and on them putting compared to the normal pro v1. But then the pro v1x off the tee goes 10ft higher and 10 yards further for me so it's hard to get the best of both worlds. My 460cc driver isn't low spin though and it's 20 years old lol so maybe a newer lower spinning driver is the answer 😋

@@SiLoMixMaster I am a low ball hitter and for that reason alone I play the prov1x it has been shown to spin more than people think. Also I feel that the left dash might just be an avx in disguise

Another boring Sunday finish at Augusta. There’s just no real trouble to get into on the back nine. Wide (enough) fairways, low rough, nice pin placements. Now bring on the U.S. Open.

No real trouble on the Augusta back 9? You can't be serious haha, did you see Max Homa get stuck in that bush on 12? Did you see 4 guys in contention in 2019 dunk it in the water on 12 on Sunday?

@@billmoyer3254 How’s this for delusion? With a Sunday lead, a golfer can play pretty safe on the back nine. Twenty eight of the last 33 Masters winners came from the final pairing. It’s been 65 years since a winner came from outside the top 10 entering the final round. Apology accepted.

The PGA needs a winner. It was more important than golf. Scottie Scheffler was a great choice. He is liked, a great golfer, and the kind of hero the PGA needed at this time. Coverage of the masters was subpar. I hope the Masters does a revamp to make it a true masters again. Televised golf is at a crossroads. Regular PGA tournaments are terrible to watch. I think this carried over to the masters. They need to figure this out this summer or other venues will figure it out.

Homa won me over at The Ryder Cup, which is why I put an EW bet on him and Cantlay along with Bryson for the Masters there.....Cantlay failed to deliver so he's back to square one in my book. The problem with Aberg is he has zero personality. Bryson using the 3D printer clubs was a blessing and a curse, around the greens definitely a curse, he should have just used the Ping irons he shot 58 with.

Like I had said previously. They are stuck in 1986, 1998. Ratings down 20% Ha Ha!. Time has passed Jim "Hallmark Moment" Nance. No one wants this crap. Tiger Woods is a ratings killer. He takes views away from other golfers who no one will get to know with all the worship on him. They will never admit it and never have future living in the past. They can't see it. CBS was horrendous from the start. It is unwatchable with every electric car commercial that no one wants to the rigged tee times. They are so out of touch. Can't wait until the next LIV.
