I loved the "purity" and discipline within the video. One of the greatest areas coaches make mistakes is they cross over into the consulting/training side. When you do this, you create a position that holds you accountable and you allow the client the room to blame a failure on your suggestions or strategies. Avoid this trap that you create for yourself! Keeping TRUE to coaching means you absolutely ask the tough questions and allow the person to see for themselves, the right path. When they see it, and draw it out, it keeps the framework of the idea or strategy, their own. This helps with clarity of ownership and defines who actually needs to do the changing, in total perspective. Even when the client fell, the coach held out a net, but then scooped the pencil back up and handed it to the client. GREAT video!!

Notice that the coach guided and assisted, he/she didn't do the work. That's the point to successful guidance. Wonderful!

I love the simplicity of the video. It shows the coachees reflective thinking, trial and error, the exploration of creativity, and mistakes will occur. This video is amazing

That is one the best demonstrations of coaching I have ever seen. The physicalization of the dilemma as well as the coaching tools. The coaches role in supplying those tools at the right time but the client putting in the work and the effort. Brilliant!

I think this is great, a cute little story to illustrate the nature of coaching, providing the client with tools, having the client realize that they needed to add rungs to the ladder to make smaller steps. Wow, poignant and entertaining. Congrats!

It perfectly describes the way we should consider coaching and self-improvement in our lives.

Thaks for posting this. I liked it. It explains very simply and clearly how we are in charge of our own destiny. The lifecoach can assist in keeping us motivated. They DONT hand us the gift-wrapped answers. We do everything for ourselves, reach our dreams/goals and with the added bonus of improving ourselves as we make our journeys.

It sounds like a lot of people have a very strange concept of what coaching is. It is the direct opposite of charlatanism simply because it is based on real respect of the other (the client), the different viewpoints and experiences people have nd on permission from the client. This little cartoon is actually creative and lovely. Thanks.

This is a great and fun video. I like how you cleverly show the alliance between the coach and the client, how the client has to do the work but the coach is right there supporting and catching the client, and how creative the client is to solving their own life's situation when they have good support. I would make one change: at the end show the client grows bigger, because they learned and became more of themselves. That's the point of coaching, clients permanently grow more into themselves

This was actually pretty well done. It does cover the coaching process in that the coach wasn't pulling or pushing the coachee towards his goal. Rather, he lets him figure it out for himself & helps him find the best way to get there. Bravo

Well done video, clear representaton of coaching fundamental principle. The coach is bringing you the "tool box", the toolbox represents systems, processes, and knowledge a coach brings to help the clients. The clients defining and reaching their dreams is the measurement of success. Each coach bring its own "toolbox"- Finding the coach who matches the client philosophy is what's critical. Nice, simple and clear!!! Congrats!!! I was looking for video in order to explain in 2 minutes, with images, How coaching works. Great idea!!! I think that the best part of it is that It´s not need to be translated into another language because of a spoken explanation, therefore it works for everyboday which it is a plus in my case. I work internationally so, THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In theory we all know but in practice many times that knowledge isn´t enough nor useful, - "What´s happening? Who am I? What shall I do?" Coaching the way you are living: Look attentively and start to see what never seen before. Contemplate who we truly are. Discover new options, possibilities of expression. Plan objectives and actions to undertake. Sense and direction to effort. Appreciate the process.

@gespilk Having been involved with both in professional and personal circumstances, I actually think that consultants are the charlatans... especially management consultants. More often then not in the business environment it is precisely the obvious practical things we need to be reminded of because these are the things we most easily loose sight of in our busy minds and busy days. A coach can do this in a caring and and empathetic manner....your boss or client will never do the same.
