How Columbus Weaponized an Eclipse:
Was Columbus a good guy? Well, here's a story for you: After discovering the New World by accident in 1492, Columbus had undertaken three more voyages back to the Americas, mostly in search gold and silver to recover the cost of the previous voyages.
Hearing Panama was rich with gold, probably by some natives who wanted him to go there instead, Columbus traveled to Central America. Between his ships being attacked by pirates and eaten away by shipworms, he was forced to land in Jamaica.
Columbus got into some trouble with the natives, and after a while they refused to keep helping him. So Columbus did what any normal person would do, use his knowledge of an impending eclipse to scare the sh!t out of some Native Americans. Long story short, he used the eclipse to convince the natives God was angry at them and he wanted them to keep giving Columbus free stuff. Clearly, Columbus didn't treat the Native Americans well. My question about these things is surely the natives had witnessed an eclipse before (and apparently sans wrath of god type stuff following), so the particulars of why they were so gullible is questionable. Or is this Columbus hoodwinking historians with a fanciful story.

It hilarious that people think Columbus actually predicted an eclipse. He couldn’t figure out what continent he was actually on and was in a mostly uncharted part of the world but somehow managed to predict an eclipse 200 years before the first confirmed prediction of an eclipse. You just have to love the things that you learn on the internet, lol.

The first CONFIRMED prediction. Halley, right? There's endless evidence that eclipse predictions were happening long before. The Antikythera mechanism? The Chinese were thought to be predicting solar eclipses during the Han dynasty.

but definitely that makes no sense that he went west to find out if the earth was flat or round was the supposed story, but somehow he knew there was going to be a blood moon? which is why i am in this video, im making a project trying to debunk all of this because the story of columbus is basically all stories now but there’s plenty of books i can show you that speak of this
