​@Hans Moleman Botelho is crazy-disruptive in the opponent's backfield, he blocks punts, etc.. but not as consistent setting the edge, etc. as say an Isaiah Foskey. The fact that he'll likely share reps with super-sophomores Josh Burnham and Junior Tuihalamaka, Botehlo should mostly be in there with his ears pinned back.. ☘️🔥

I've been an Irish fan since 1962 and would love nothing more than to see Hartman win the Heisman. Receivers? Jaden Thomas, Tobias Merriwether and moving Chris Tyree to slot receiver. A tight end needs to step up since TE's are a big part of Irish offense. However, the Irish I think will be a running team first and a passing team secondly, but that if Buchner was the starting QB. I agree with you J.D. that Hartman could be the factor the Irish have not had in years that opens up the passing game. It's great to ruminate about this in the off season, but the season will tell. Thomas is also a slot, but could play the X also. You want the best playmakers available on the field. If that means Merriweather, Colzie, Thomas,Tyree, Estime… Whatever/whomever it takes. As for Hartman potentially winning the Heisman?? Well, ask Lloyd Christmas ‘… So you’re saying there’s a chance…’ Of course it’s possible. But two years ago Spencer Rattler was the overwhelming pre season favorite to win it, flopped hard, was replaced by Caleb Williams who was a true Frosh that year, & Bryce Young ended up winning the Heisman. Remember the mid-70’s - mid 80’s when the best RB’s were the prohibitive favorites? Tony Dorsett, Earl Campbell, Billy Simms, Charles White, Marcus Allen, George Rogers, Bo Jackson? So many of those guys went wire to wire as the favorites, & eventual winner, and then the 1st pick in the draft. Yeah, we’ll it’s not like that anymore! Lol. Don’t worry about whether Hartman can win the Heisman or not, I’d much rather he win GAMES!!! Especially OSU/CLEMSON, & USC!

Maybe but I don't believe notre Dame will be a playoff team with 2 maybe 3 losses. A new qb scene, WRS, new starting defense line etc etc . They have good talent but not great or elite except 2 maybe offense linemen

ND fan. Going to say no to the heisman question. They should be able to run for 200ish a game, and they'll be relatively strong on the defensive side of the ball. They're not going to be reliant enough on the passing game to warrant Hartman having heisman caliber stats. For example, Brady Quinn was a heisman runner up because ND NEEDED him to throw for 300+ and 3+ TDs a game to keep them in games. Only way i see it happening for Hartman is if they commit to running up the score for stats.

My thing is if Sam can shine like he did at wake with what he had. Why can’t he do it at notre dame even with the WR from last year. Drew threw for about 2500. With what we had, why wouldn’t sam who didn’t have the best talent at wake not shine at notre dame with better talent? That debate just makes no sense to me. We had 3, 4 star wide outs this class, a high 4 star last year who’s in his 2nd year now. And some returing players. Sam will be fine lol

DONT forget about Jayden Thomas oml he is a exact replica of Claypool. Him and Greathouse will be unstoppable with big Estime and Hartman and the defense is the best I've seen in awhile so I see this team easily 12-0 but close game against Usc easy games against Ohio state and Clemson

Nowhere close to an exact replica of Claypool, Claypool was and is an absolute freak athlete. Jaden Thomas is more refined a route runner, gets open well, etc. especially from the slot.

I’m a lifelong, die-hard ND fan, but I’m a bit skeptical of your “we easily go 12-0” prediction. ND is not at a place where beating 3 top 10 teams will be “easy”. I would love for that to be the case, man I hope your optimism turns out to be spot on! My most optimistic take is 11-1, winning 2/3 of our big game matchups. That’s best case scenario in my humble opinion. 10-2 is the likeliest bet. I still don’t like our matchup with USC, we struggle with mobile QB’s and Caleb Williams is a different cat. So difficult to bring down. Our only chance to beat USC in my opinion, is hope that their defense remains soft and vulnerable against the run, and we run it down their throat. Keeping Williams on the sideline and our defense fresh. I think we beat Clemson. Ohio State is a toss up, but if we are ever going to beat them, this is the year! Regardless, I think it’s going to be a great season! If we go 11-1 with this schedule, we are in the playoff! Wake up the echos!
