I originally wanted this to be a much more in-depth video, but in order to get it done in time for Crash Community Day while juggling more prioritized videos, I had to cut it down to the basics. So think of this as somewhat of a preview.

I'm so glad Crash managed to still have that much power in the industry after the hiatus; not only has it led to fun new games in his series, but SO many platformers and old obscure games have gotten a second chance because of N. Sane and the renewed love for those types of games! Love this vid! x)

The power of the bandicoot is immeasurable! But in all seriousness, its pretty cool how Crash was the jolt the genre needed to get the mainstream blood pumping

I hadn't thought of the N. Sane Trilogy being the spearhead for a lot of platformers returning, but it makes a lot of sense when I think about it. Nintendo never stopped making platformers, but a lot of other major companies still didn't see much demand for it until Yooka-laylee blew up. That was the game I had originally saw as the one who saved it, but it more brought back attention to it rather than save it. N. Sane Trilogy sold extremely well and showed publishers that the genre was still profitable. Like you said, it paved the way for more remasters/remakes. Let's hope we see those remasters lead to new entries!

The 3D platformers are really easy to get into for those who hasn’t played games before. With Mario, it really helped the gaming industry after the video game crash of 1983. Today, we’re getting a couple of new platformer games from indie studios to now the release of Astro Bot. I think that the platformer genre will still stay in the gaming industry whether we see an old IP being brought back to the modern age or a new IP with the same genre. I think that Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy has started the remake trend we see today and I think that Astro Bot will start a trend where game companies will try to make fun games like how Team Asobi handles the Astro Bot IP.

I love seeing a lot of those 3D platforming games getting remade and remastered. Even if I haven’t played the game, like Croc for example, it gives me a bit of nostalgia. Would love to see more of them, like Ape Escape, Rayman (specifically Rayman 2 the Great Escape), Billy Hatcher,Dr. Muto, Tak and the Power of Juju, and Malice. I doubt they’d all get that treatment, but it would be nice.

The NST and especially Reignited are why I've been mainly playing platformers nowadays

After the Crash and Spyro remakes we got a Ty remaster, a Kao reboot, a Bubsy reboot, a Pac-Man World remake and a Klonoa remake with a remaster of Gex and a remake of Croc on the way. Sadly no new Banjo-Kazooie.

At least Banjo and Kazooie got added in Smash Bros. I'd love a remake/remaster of the first and second games.

I love the crash bandicoot n sane trilogy. I replayed it earlier this year and also decided to replay the Spyro reignited trilogy too. Pac-Man World Re-Pac was really good as well! Can’t wait for Croc!

I've always been a fan of platformers since I was a kid. So, seeing all of these remakes and remasters definitely brings back nostalgia, or at least, makes me appreciate what came before since I never played the classic spyro or crash games as a kid. So, my introduction to their original incarnations was through their remastered versions. Prior to N. Sane and Reignited, my first exposure to Crash was on the gameboy and as for Spyro? I played the Legend of Spryo: A New Beginning on DS and The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night on PS2, as well as Skylanders. I literally waited until my late teens to early adulthood to play the classic titles remastered since I never owned them as a kid. Between N. Sane and Reignited though, I do prefer the latter. Despite certain jumps and gliding sections being more irritating, and the occasional unfair orb or egg challenges, I had way more fun collecting them when compared to the relics from N. Sane, and I loved seeing all the dragon designs.

As for Yooka Laylee and A Hat In Time. I've given both of those indie titles a go. I do think that Yooka-Laylee lacks polish in some areas and feels like a ripoff of Banjo Kazooie, and as much as I enjoyed A Hat In Time, I do think that certain missions were either forgettable or went by too quickly. I've heard that Billie Bust Up is coming out soon though, and I'm hoping to try out Banjo Kazooie, Klonoa, Conker, Gex, Kao, Ty and New Super Lucky's Tale at some point.

The reason Crash had to be remade is because Activision needed to make up for the fact that Skylanders had ended. Vicarious Visions who developed the Crash remakes also did Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure so they were a good choice.

I love 3D platformers. They are my best favorite kind of games I grew up with. And Playstation had a lot of them. That's why I grew up with Playstation. They had such great platforming titles like Crash Bandicoot. And who knew my childhood hero Crash would be the one to bring those great titles back again? 3D platformers are awesome and I'm real good at them. Because I'm used to those kind of games I've been playing for a long time.

I have gotten a PS3 and 360 a few years back and it's actually ridiculous how hard it is to find 3D platformers for these consoles. On the 360, there is Rango, Alice Madness Returns, Toy Story 3, Monsters High and perhaps the 2 Crash Titans games which are still platform-ish though more beat em up. The slap on the face is the exclusive Banjo game that has turned into a car game, poking fun at 3d platformers, basically saying in game no one likes those anymore. The PS3 on the other hand only has Ratchet & Clank. LBP doesn't count since it's 2.5D, same for Puppeteer. This is the reason why I prefer the PS4 over those 2. It's actually shocking how truly lacking they are, it was the generation of dudebro shooters and "nostalgia" 2D platformers. The only nice thing I can say about it is that it had some of the best and fun racing games ever made along with the mindless hack and slash titles.

Not to mention with realistic graphics these days we've basically reached an impasse where Graphics can't get much better than what we've already seen, it ain't like the jump to the PS1 to the PS2 anymore, let alone how many of these hyper realistic games being usually AAA and all have had failures and disappointments over the years that made non realistic and stylized games like 3D Platformers being on the rise and created quite a niche for itself, the demand was always there, it was a matter of who was going to take that gamble.
