I had no idea about this i'm impressed you found it out and I love the idea of Acina using Malgus to solidify her rule.

Did he take down any of the old Dark Council? I'm pretty sure most of them can make an appearance during the Nathema FP. I still love the idea of Empress Acina putting Malgus into a fridge and firing at Ossus back in 2017.
@SWCentral2 ай бұрын
The codex entry kinda says that she used Malgus for that reason yeah. I know a couple are seen for the Zildrog stuff but not all of them. We should have had 12 council members total which later became 6 I believe on Acinas new council.
@thenethralking60322 ай бұрын
@@SWCentralI can imagine that would be very hard to keep track of. It’s likely many had already were taken out during the war before Zakuul. And Lana did say many fought to the end without any plans to surrender with only Vowrown being the one to negotiate a cease fire. And then we find out via codex that Acina used Malgus reborn to solidify her place in the empire by eliminating her rivals on the Dark Council. And that’s excluding the usual power plays that come naturally to Sith politics. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Ravage and Mortis were the only two surviving council members aside from Vowrown and Acina

I really love Malgus, mainly cause I like his not-so-against-aliens attitude and tenacity. (And his voice of course) It was a shame that every time I worked with him Story said no, you must betray him. And the main thing I really think lacking in this game is the power of choice. To do what you want, and then deal with the reapercussions later, like "Yes, I take the power" yes, I save this guy" no, I won't do this thing" We are suppose to be a fkin third political power! The only thing I wanted in SW to exist, to be perfect. And its just a husk, and the sith Emperor/empress/Idontknowwho on the rep side is like our supreme leader! Your opinion on this?
@SWCentral2 ай бұрын
Yeah making choices matter it’s important for immersion especially across different characters that will make unique choices. I’m unsure if they will give the player any options to side with Malgus any time soon. Right now my Assassin holds the holocron that Malgus needs so I suppose they have an opening here to make an alliance. But considering past patterns, I’d say they won’t let us do that. Would be cool though! They did some of this with Kotfe and Kotet but it didn’t land as well as they planned I think. They’ve lost a lot of staff since then so it seems they are unable to meet the same quality as before. Another reason I think they won’t allow us the choice this time. But yeah, would be very very cool.

Another great video of Malgus. Appreciate the time and effort you put into these videos Central. Its pretty awesome and terrifying how much of an impact Malgus's character has on the story. I honestly wish Broadsword would give us the opportunity to join him. To be honest I think he has had more of an impact on the Empire than Vitiate/Valkorion himself due to him ACTUALLY being a front and center character rather than doing things from behind the scenes. Truly he is one of my favorite SWTOR characters and your thorough breakdowns are always a treat to see. Always keep up the good work. And maybe, just maybe we can join him someday lol.

I wouldn't just write of his return with simple cybernetics. Acina used the Dread Engine to revive Malgus. Stolen during the war with Zakuul. Ever since he has gone Rogue, he has been collecting the devices used to Ascend as a dread master, devices incorporated with the Sith Acadamy of Sigil, notoriously known for force plagues, and the Soul Leeching Super Weapon Revan tried to use on Yavin V. Now we find the Mandalorian Rebels have been collecting people who unknowingly wield the force. This stinks of our past dealings with "Children of the Emperor" except they aren't being activated. . . I believe Malgus intends on leeching the power left in these pawns in a way they sever their own connections to the force, "Causing a wound in the Force" far greater than that of the exile in KotoR 2, Ascending past the power of the previous Dread Masters while leeching the force from a set of planets that will be in heavy conflict, and demand the presence of all Jedi and Sith, where he will spread a force plague that feeds and maintains Malgus without the self -destructive properties Nihilus suffered. If he were to need to share this power, I assume that this will be the time we see Jadus return, either as Malgus' ally, or rival. If Malgus dies, Jadus will plunge the galaxy in a zealous fire. If Malgus lives, we only have a short amount of time to stop him before he is overcome with complete corruption and tries to wipe everything out regardless. Oricon, Nathema, Ziost. These horrors will pale in the devastation Malgus can unleash upon the galaxy. And freakin' Shae Viszla betrays us, after everything. My Imperial Agent is probably going to get betrayed by the Sith and undo all the work I did to strengthen the Empire since our war with Zakuul. 💢😠 I'm usually devoted to keeping companions in the game alive, but she is getting the Malavai Betrayal treatment when we have to fight her and she asks for forgiveness.

The whole Ilum arc and the "death" of Malgus was the breaking point on swtor for me, because at the time it make no sense for the empire to go against Malgus, and that your character had no choice but to support it. From then on the story became mostly the same for all classes, no longer following the unique main story class of each character on either faction.
@rebeljedaii2571Ай бұрын
the catch is...for many of us, there is no grenade in the Ilum flashpoint. They totally removed it around 2016 so he looks dead on the floor. I still wonder why they did that - I know making it soloable was part of it.
@SWCentralАй бұрын
That’s true, I forget the reason they did that. The grenade was still able to be used for a while giving players 2 ways to defeat him, the fall or by HP loss. I miss the Grenade… I like making things go boom.

@@SWCentral I've been looking for a video of it. I joined right after they changed it and it was a HORRIBLE time to play it. I could find no idea how to beat him, everyone said 'use the grenade' which wasn't there. And no one knew the new mechanics! 😣

Great video! I would like to share some personal thoughts that I am still confused about with Malgus. A big mystery to me is how Malgus's body wasn't incinerated when the station blew up, and even if not, then why is it not severely mutilated or burned after the explosion of the station? When and how did Acina salvage his body? Shouldn't he be dead in the vacuum of space? Those parts are the biggest mystery to me.
@SWCentral2 ай бұрын
When I say salvaged his body, I mean more that Acina was probably on board the fortress and took Malgus with her during her own escape. Apologies for not being clear in that! She kept him alive through cybernetic augments and such. When Malgus returns, he says he died but came back lol. Maybe he died in the explosion and Acina revived him somehow. These are the connections :)

Well isnt this reminiscent of Darth Maul's fall into the foundry. He survived too, after a fashion. I still think this is poor storytelling. On both accounts. It is sloppy work. Instead of new threats, there is just old threats. Indeed it took killing Vitiate three times. First a Jedi killed his body, then the commander kills him in his own mind, and then the commander kills him and his two other incarnations in Satele Shan's mind and now he is finally dead and we are dealing with a resurrected Malgus? Come on, this gets tedious. And it is not over yet, if it gets ever resolved at all. I have this fear that SWTOR will be shut down for good before Malgus is done dying!
