I have no idea who owns the Spurs but they have 5 rings because they let Pop handle the team. You only hear about Robert Kraft when he gets happy endings at massage parlors but he has 6 rings because he let Bill run the Pats. Back in the day, nobody knew that Clint Murchison owned the Dallas Cowboys because he sat back and let the triumvirate of Tex Schramm, Tom Landry and Gil Brandt run the team and sat back while the Cowboys were contenders for the better part of 2 decades.

I think it is a disaster for these hedge fund sociopaths to buy your team. They didn't build anything to make their money, just moved debt and cash around to to take advantage of evonomic conditions. They are obviously smart, but work virtually alone to achieve success. Buiding a football franchise, on the other hand, is a delicate balletnof GM and coach and scouts and accountants working together to build a winning franchise. Big ego owners inevitably screw up the team building process with their impatience and extravagance.

A banker who started in the 70’s talked about how he used to work the weekends as a train engineer. Home in Scarsdale and private school for the kids is expensive. By the 90’s and early aughts bankers were making real money. He didn’t become any smarter or worked any harder but at the end he was getting a $10m bonus. It’s hard to not think you’re special and you deserve all that money. Money changes everything. It warps the mind.

The list of reasons of why he is a shitty owner is numerous and varied. His success in hedge fund management has led to an over inflated sense of his abilities and his ego won't let him see his own shortcomings. He is surrounded by yes men and with no one to disagree with him. His ineptitude and incompetence is on another level. Running a NFL is a completely different skill set. His meddling is so bad that he tries to intervene with the play on the field. He once saw a play in a game. He liked the play so much he called the OC and told him to put it in the playbook. All owners will "meddle" to an extent, but Tepper takes it to another level. He's the Walmart version of Jerry Jones.

As much as the team is in shambles, I appreciate tepper. He’s brought revenue and opportunities to Charlotte. My nephew plays for Charlotte FC’s junior team. He’s being exposed to so much at a young age. He played in the MLS next fest where there were over 300 college scouts. That’s better than any HS soccer event. I believe Tepper will get it right in terms of football. It will just take time. At the end of the day, the players are getting paid and are all millionaires. Coaches are paid. Everyone is eating. In the grand scheme of things, that’s all that matters.

This is your typical hack-job that happens when team' fortunes don't improve under a new owner. The Panthers were a team in serious decline and needed a complete rebuild. Unfortunately, it hasn't gone well as long-time GM Marty Hurney failed to secure a replacement for Newton and otherwise acquire sufficient talent to keep the Panthers in contention. As soon as the Panthers start winning, it'll be the Eddie DeBartolo (and every other despised owner who went from rags to riches) story all over again. Eddie sucked, then Walsh built a dynasty, and suddenly fans loved Eddie even though in reality he was a crap owner.

The NFL is rigged, from the get-go. The NFL cannot afford to lose a billionaire of his caliber. They don't grow on trees. The NFL will get their Sh,,it together on this one.
