I started by watching Cas then Dawn and Dana. I have never been one to have much clutter but six years ago our son was killed in a fall. He was 33 years old. I could not bear to look at all the family photos and they sat in two big totes for 6 years. After watching your videos, I was finally able to go through the pictures and declutter them as well. My husband, my daughter who is Down Syndrome and I cried, laughed and remembered fun times as we looked through the photos. Your videos helped give me the courage to tackle this very emotional task. I did not want to leave it for my daughter or any other family members to have to deal with. The amount of photos is now manageable and brings us joy instead of dread. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I’m typing & deleting & typing & deleting my comment because I literally can’t put in words how decluttering our home and establishing daily routines for myself and my family changed our lives. Essentially, our home has never been so tidy and clean as it is now….and I’ve never cleaned as little as I do now. Our weekends are ours to do whatever we want ( can’t do much as we’re in lockdown atm), if someone calls and says “hey, I’m in the area, can I pop over? “…I can say, “sure, come on over”and not have to do a thing to do… The decluttering was the catalyst to this though… Thank you for your on going motivation xxx

I have been getting rid of a lot of stuff, and even reducing my decorating. The house looks less cluttered, and lighter. Then I came down with a bad cold. Even tho I did little housework, the house was pretty easy to keep up with, and I was amazed. It really does make a difference.

Cass your comment about feeling like you can't have fun on the weekend when you have all the clutter hanging over you sure hit home with me. I dread every Saturday and Sunday because I know I have so much that I want to go through and donate.. but I also know I hate to let go. It's a vicious circle but I'm hoping by joining the group and having you all to hold my hand and push me at the same time...I'll finally get this done!

You 3 should be proud of this course. The way you have taken the best parts of each other's systems and put them together for a complete learning experience is marvelous. I love Dawn's minimalism, but I can't go quite that far, and I love Dana's decluttering process, although I don't need to go through all her questions most of the time, and I love Cas for her organizing styles. Now that I know what I am, part Ladybug, a lot Cricket, I know how to do each of these processes. My house is mostly tidy and clean, but I have those spaces, garage and office, that often go off the rails.

I love how Dana said she would clean like crazy for someone to come and then say sorry I haven't had a chance to clean. Omg, I do this too,. I feel so guilty that it still looks terrible even though I may have spend weeks working in my house, I still feel the need to say I haven't cleaned. Ugh, the battle is real. I am glad to hear I am not the only one, I certainly am in my circle if friends and it makes me feel very inadequate. It's nice to see other women struggle along with me! I seriously thought it was only me. Also, does anyone have that one day where they really have their shit together and the house is making you proud, and ..... No one comes over?! The second the world wind comes through again, everyone shows up!! No one ever sees the clean day lol

Love you ladies.....thinking of your house as a container was a game changer for me. I grew up in the era when you saved things "just incase". I still save things "just incase". It can get out of hand in a hot hurry. It gives me anxiety/adjada to consider it clutter.....so the container concept solves the issue. I limit what I keep to one container. The rest is recycled. Works incredibly well and I still have a "just incase" stash. Brilliant concept. 💜

Yeah. When we both worked and my boys were growing up, my Saturdays were filled with laundry, dusting, vacuuming, bathrooms, changing sheets, etc. and my house was clean and tidy, but we only had Sundays to do the important things with family. Now, when they're in their 40's I feel a little guilty about that. Sooooo, listen to these ladies. They have wonderful ways of making it easier.

Ladies, you are amazing! March 2021 one of Dawn's videos popped up on my feed and I watched it, then watched a few more, then she mentioned Dana, and I watched her videos (and listened to her audio book), then I heard about Cas and started watching her videos. I was so motivated that I not only watched ya'lls videos but began decluttering my house also! March and April I was on a role, I decluttered my linen closet, my pantry, my bathroom, and my kitchen and I got rid of quite a lot stuff! But as life has a way of doing, I slowly went back to old habits, and stopped my decluttering journey. But thankfully, I'm baaaack! You ladies are all so encouraging! I'm so thankful for you sharing your journey! It helps us on our journey too! Your ideas, your helpful tips, your encouraging words, are all helping me along my journey! Dana, I relate to you the most! I have so much STUFF! I struggle with letting go! I feel like I'm emotionally attached to every little thing! I also used to HATE to do the dishes, BUT after TRYING your method of "DO THE DISHES" my sink has been free of dishes every night since I started in March! THANK YOU! I'm still on this journey and even though I missed your deadline for this class, it's definitely on my "to do list" to jump into the next one. AND I just did a 50 minute declutter tonight! AND I uploaded 2 videos of my 50 minute declutter session. (I don't have a fancy editor like you do Dana, so it's all RAW FOOTAGE!! LOL ) I tried to use Dana's method and started with just trying to throw out the TRASH and making the "duh" & quick non-emotional decisions! I'm definitely on "layer ONE" of going through my piles Dana! LOL #5minutesbetter God Bless Ya'll

Love you guys! Today I will finish my kitchen/dining room (after 2 very full weeks of decluttering) by decluttering my fridge and freezer. I started my decluttering journey (before i found your videos) with my closet then my husbands closet, then the windowseat between them and I thought I was done...then I found your videos(thanks to Kathryn and do it on a dime). I was actually doing some things correctly and you guys just put a name to it for me. 😁 But I also learned ALOT from you all. THANK YOU for showing me the "hidden" messes in my home. My home "looked" fairly neat and tidy but every time I opened a cabinet to cook or put away dishes or groceries the "battle of the cabinets" began. I was so tired of living that way! I'm now 4 months into decluttering my house and every time I think I'm getting close to done I watch another video and think, ooo, that drawer really needs organized. At this point I may never be finished. 😳 after today its the basement which I have been putting off for 2 years but hopefully wont be too bad because I've been hitting it with "glancing blows" thanks to Dana's better=success strategy. You guys are awesome! Thanks for all you do, you've definitely changed my life.

I love this! Decluttering has made a big difference in my life with 6 kids, and now that I am pregnant again I am ready to tackle the farm itself! We have sold some equipment we never use, and I want to go through all the office stuff on the farm nobody has looked at in over 10 years, and the trash the guys just pile up in halls in the barn. I need to take before and after shots. We have the large dairy barn, old bull barn that turned into a junk storage shed, 3 vehicle garage with storage above and a machine storage behind it, a workshop, and a machine shed! My husband is not very excited about it since I really need him on board with helping because I don't know what half the stuff is.

And once an area looks better..then the OCD kicks in and I have many more projects I think need to be done because I won't know what I have or where to find it in that space. My dad passed and my mom asked us to move in with her. We went from a cluttered 3 bedroom house...to 3 rooms on our side of the house. My mom is very neat and organized, which has helped me be neat in the common areas of the house. Literally 2 of our rooms don't match the rest of the house!!! And he’s so opposed to letting go of anything. I have to sneak out ratty socks and underwear from the rotation because he would want to keep even them!

I have the same wish...I've worked so hard to get stuff out of the house, and every time I turn around my (otherwise perfect🙂) husband is ordering something new or bringing home something he found somewhere. I know I can't force him to be in on decluttering, but it just feels like I'm banging my head against the wall....

Just keep at it with your own journey. In time he may change. I started my own journey eight years ago and it took 5-6 years for my husband to come along for real but now he’s gone from VERY messy to a person who declutters regularly and cleans and tidies daily. Honestly nagging never works but in our case me just showing the awesomeness of a neat home inspired him to become better.

@@FilippaSkog this is exactly my journey. At first my husband couldn’t cope with my decluttering, even though I didn’t touch his stuff he was sure I had. He would buy stuff to fill the spaces I had cleared. But slowly he’s started to get it! and that’s enormous progress.

I think in the depression era women we less stressed because they didn’t have all this stuff. They just worried about how to make money. But I do believe they were happier

How do you organize and store children art, paper things? I love seeing their toddler first drawings and what they created with their plump little hands, and first attempts at writing.

The container concept works great for these items. You can keep anything but you can't keep everything. Let the container size determine how much you keep. Put in your favorites first.

I love your course. I've been decluttering since June and I'm enjoying continuing to declutter. It's rubbing off on at least one of my kids and my husband. I'm feeling so much more relaxed in my home.

Love you ladies!!! 💗 Thank you so much for all your amazing work (and the "crazypants" results!) 🤭 Cas basically saved me from becoming a hoarder like my mum, back in the Malitose days, and Dawn&Dana have helped adapt/refine my methods to suit me more now that I'm a mum in our own place. I can't thank you all enough 💗

I had to get rid of so many things as I immigrated. I only went with what I could fit in four bags and the clothes on my back. I should feel freedom but it makes me sad to think of all the stuff I had to get rid of and I don't know if it's cause I am so sentimental or if it's because I equate my past stuff with my family I miss so dearly. It's like I couldn't let go properly. I'm blessed to have more then I need and I want to go the minimal way even though I'm so sentimental. I'm battling. But I want to be free from stuff and financial stable.

Oh! I missed the course. I have been taking my house back watching you guys. thank you to all of you. My only problem was I had 15 trash bags of donations, I stared looking inside again. So I had to take everything on trash day and put it out. I felt bad that i didn’t managed to donate but I’m glad is out of my house.

I don't have piles in every corner, but WHO doesn't have clutter beacause I DO!!! SO I can always improve! I would love to feel more dollars in the wallet because I keep bring in when I don't have space. STOP buying into the consumerism. LOL! Such good advice here! I want a JUMP start!

Maybe remind your members a good way to decrease paper clutter is going paperless for bills, it’s a game changer for us, pay your bills online and keep track as you pay them in a small notebook. Definitely a piece of mind

Part of my realization was when I got a free estimate from a cleaning lady. She refused to do it. "You need to call me when you're all moved, so I can clean." That's when I realized I just have too much inventory at the moment. Hope that helps.

And just for accountability purposes, I DID take all of that stuff over to the donation center and I’m not sorry lol. It filled the entire back end of my car, which is better than it filling an entire corner of my house. Such a WIN! 🎊🎊🎊
