I bought a large water pitcher & small coffee brewer then a beautiful teakettle. Have enjoyed the coffee brewer & pitcher for a year so far & am very satisfied with the craftsmanship and quality. Just open the teakettle which was delivered. Am looking forward to many years of relaxing teas! I wish I was told I could have had an engraving done. Thoughtful idea. Thank you!

I don't use or drink dairy. Is there anything else I can use to prepare the kettle for use?

You may also boil water inside. Milk is the preferred method but water will do the job,too.

@@ozkur21 why milk? I haven't found anything anywhere that explains this. Is there something fat soluble that the milk picks up or is it because the milk is alkaline?

You can use a copper cleaner or just a homemade salt-lemon mix to clean the copper patina.
