Season 3 of demon slayer just finished with the hashira training arc which I can't say I was much of a fan of except the final episode

I feel like it was necessary to have this arc, because if demon slayer lacks one thing, its character development excluding the mc’s. I liked the slow pace, the comedy, and learning more about each hashira, which I thought was very nice to see, as they were very mysterious characters up until this point. I also thought the final episode was insanely cold. The way ubuyashiki’s tone got more serious as the children sang a song so ominously in the background sent chills down my spine. Gyomei’s fight with Muzan was insanely cool and brought back memories of season 2. Overall, I loved this season

honestly the manga does not have enough character development in its later seasons, and its clear it thinks that backstories are enough to make the audience believe in and care about characters (Spoilers it's just not.). I was really hoping the training arc would give some much needed scenes between the main trio, some scenes between kanao and tanjiro, maybe even some scenes with inosuke and kanao because of what happens in the district arc. it feels like the manga is more interested in showing you how visually complex and beautiful the world of demon slayer is, rather than showing you how narratively complex and beautiful the world of demon slayer is, if that makes sense (animation does not equal narrative quality and therefore does not guarantee a good anime, pretty much) I love this show, its still one of my favorite anime, but that doesn't mean I can't see the flaws in it, and it DEFINETLY missed its chance to nullify some of those problems.

1. The reason for the almost dead guy killing his family was to make it look real so that muzan wouldn’t think is was a trap and not dip before the bomb could start bombing. His wife and 2 kids is crazy though. 2. Sanemi tried to harm his brother so that he would stop being a slayer so he wouldn’t die 🫡|🩸in combat. 3. The reason for the hashira not getting development was so they could get fleshed out in the infinity castle arc 4. The reason they think the training will work is because tanjiro being marked means that it can spread to others like it did for mui and mitsuri. They also did the training so the hashira’s could teach the demon slayer and make them extra strong in in general as most had never trained like this before. Over all I think the season was laking purly in development because of the short time they had.

Let's be real here; nobody wants to watch/listen to a long ass background storytelling of every char to know them better. A short pace of every char's background like this is fine, IMO. That way, we don't forget the main plot and fights because 2 or 3 episodes of a char's background are too damn long. The training is great, fine, and it makes sense. It's not like the Hashiras know a "Specific" way to train to get the mark anyway. For everyone else, the strength/normal training is good and logical. The Hashiras don't have time to train them all to master a "Specific" skill, such as helping them master breathing. It would've taken too much time and not enough to master other skills to help them in the final fights. Training to build strength is a great way to help all of the slayers survive the upcoming battle. It is a much better idea, which is probably what the Hashira were thinking during this training ark. Overall, this season is fine; I don't really want to watch 25 episodes of their training just to master a bunch of specific skills to prolong the anime or delay the final battle.

Actually, they do know a spesific way to train to get the mark. If you watch the first episode, they explain exactly how to unlock it, by increasing your heart beat and body temperature. That's why I said that gyomei was the only one who actually tried, because we saw him doing just that for like 5 seconds. They also got direct orders from ubuyashki to use the training time to unlock the marks, so why wouldn't they?

@@KumoBear12 that's not really specific though, bro. They only explained their experience when having the mark. They had no idea how they even achieved it. Like how do you activate the mark? What are the steps, the process in order to activate the mark. And even if they do manage to increase their heartbeat and body temperature to what they're told, would it even appear on them? Not much info to go on and it's not really a specific type of training either. It's just two type of conditions they need to achieve to get the Mark, not activate it. Realistically, the only way people increase their heart rate and body temperature is just exercising, moving their body around like what everyone is doing in the training ark. And yes, I know they did get the order from ubuyashiki to train to get the marks too. Wouldn't be logical or interesting if they get the mark that easily and early in the training, don't you think so? If it was really SPECFIC, they would've gotten the mark already by now.

I'm just saying that if the training to get the mark were "Specific," like how you wanted it in your video, they would've known what to do and trained to get the mark. Just think about the anime you used as an example, like MHA. Deku's strength training is specific to his goal because he has Almight there, who has experience and KNOWS how to use the one for all quirk when he needs it. Unlike the Hashiras, all they know is the experience of having the mark but have yet to learn how to activate or trigger it to appear. Suppose Tokito has the experience and the know how. He may have shown the other Hashira how to get the mark by now, but he only has the experience by chance to tell them and doesn't know how to activate the mark when he needs it right now.

For the training, it's not comparable to other anime, because they're training for something they know nothing about? Naruto is learning to control his chakra, being instructed by a Ninja Teacher who already knows, they have guidance, there is no guidance for a new concept that is a slayer mark they really know nothing about but speculation. While the hashira are specifically training with eachother becoming stronger and learning to fight as a team. Each of them do get stronger and the hashira are specifically explained to be training with eachother via sparring. Absolutely fair for you to state about how fast the arc is through the characters and you not being able to get attatched to the characters etc, although we've been introduced to muchiro and his story, love hashira, and etc even the stone pillar, mainly sanemi not being expanded upon but this is also a season being cut short by not only the manga chapters being short but the anime deciding to make a 3 part trilogy cutting off from the character conclusions, I've never seen Demon Slayer as a in-depth character anime, obanai could use more expanding and Sanemi will be expanded upon later. A lot of this is extra from what the manga actually is to add upon the training arc obviously so they could promote their 3 part movie trilogy, but the training should be understood as they don't know what slayer marks are exactly and are not only training to become stronger, but also find out what's needed for a slayer mark with the best of their abilities, the Hashira are explained to be sparring eachother throughout the entire arc which was shown physically twice, and will also be expanded upon later. I agree that they could have tried to expand more on characters, but then how do they do that but also focus on well made hashira sparring, I think they did the sparring and training fine through explanation and just context clues. The season by itself is fine, finding it lackluster in character arc is a fine point, but that's not the main focus of the season as it's to bring a few plot points to build up and finish into it's climax, i.e: slayer marks, zenitsu's note, himejima's past, genya and sanemi's standing, giyu's reason for the way he acts and character arc, expecting all of these to be completely fleshed out within 8 episodes while also being introduced and wellfully explained is a crazy ask.

@@KumoBear12 and btw with the risen shuriken, he was still given specific instructions on how to get to that point because all he had to do was add the actual wind element to the rasengan, he had specific instructions from teachers and your comparing to other shows with entire different power systems that makes no sense, the slayer mark temperature thing is a theory, and as you can see, if that were all that was needed, the training and method would have 1. Worked and everyone would have it, 2. They wouldn’t need the amount of training that they used.
