W take, Master Roshi is the best sensei type character out of all the Shonen anime. And it's something you'll only understand through the OG. I think another "issue" (not for me) but just overall speaking, Dragon ball Z has been remade with DB KAI and graphically updated and for some OG DB might feel/look dated which puts them off.

One good thing about DAIMA is that it unretconns potara fusion to be permanent again. They explain it was due to Buu that the fusion ended.

They both don't hold a candle to DragonBall Evolution. You see, the Americans understand what makes a good hero. That's why Goku in the movie has a crush and goes to school. Akira Toriyama even realized the Americans succeeded where he had failed; making Goku relatable to an American audience. So Akira Toriyama had to come out of retirement to desperately try to prove he could write Goku almost as well as the Americans. Unfortunately, he was sadly mistaken.

The first time I came across Dragon Ball was in 1988 when I stumbled upon an episode on French television, and I was instantly hooked. What stood out to me about Dragon Ball was how everything had a rounded look-the eyes, the head shapes, everything was round-unlike DBZ, where the designs became more angular and sharp. Dragonball had that distinct Dr. Slump art style. I have to say, I love what they’re doing with Dragon Ball Daima. This is the first Dragon Ball series I’ve truly enjoyed since Z. I was never a fan of GT or Super, especially with the red and blue hair transformations-they just didn’t appeal to me. Daima brings back that classic Dragon Ball feel. The animation and artwork are fantastic, and in my opinion, far superior to Super! But of course, everyone has their own tastes.

The JJK cast is interesting, and that's all they are. They aren't fleshed out beyond that, and when they die, you're just like, "Okay, I guess they died." You don’t care. Also, the Kyoto school students-what was the point of Gege introducing them when they don’t do anything?

4:44 The good thing about Dragon Ball GT is that it brought some characters from the classics into this story like Lunch. She appears in the final episode of the anime when she is older, raising her hands to help Goku make the Genki Dama.

Goku GT is about 42 years old, already a middle-aged man but in a child's body and I actually like this concept of Goku being so strong in the story that Toei decided to nerf the character so they could work The story is better, unfortunately they made mistakes in some things but got other things right and in the end, they got the ending of DB GT right.

Goku is battle-smart not book-smart. So in some ways a 'dumb' character sure, but not really dumb. He's incredibly tactical in battle and can figure out things.

I watched Z when younger cause OG DB wasn't on TV in UK as far as im aware. Wasn't until i could sail the seas i watched DB about 15 and i actually think it made me enjoy OG DB a lot more. I agree as well with DB > Z

While I don’t recommend skipping og db, it’s not the same as skipping part 1 Naruto or pre timeskip op bc those 2 ended in a cliffhanger. Dragon ball has a more complete ending with Goku winning the 23rd budokai by beating piccolo and then marrying chichi.

It felt weird constantly hearing, "the writers". Because Akira Toriyama wrkte the script and all the dialogue of the super hero movie, the superhero movie isn't exactly a contiuation of the anime, it's a continuation of the anime and the manga. It's canon the both, taking that into account you have the events in the manga that happen in between the anime and the super hero movie wich have and impact on the novie but aren't needed information to enjoy and understand the movie.

On the rare chance you respond to comments, something that's always kept me away from original dragon ball is the dated humor (specifically regarding master roshi being a pervert, staff officer black, general blue, the treatment of bulma, and the first wish on the dragon balls) and I've always been under the impression that og dragon ball is rife with stuff like this, which I already find hard to watch in the small amounts its in DBZ. Do you think it's negligible enough to stomach the bad parts for the good parts? Given your love of the series, I'm wondering if I have a skewed view of it due to other people just making a big deal out of the worst moments rather than it being representative of the whole.

That type of stuff is very prevalent in anime in the first place, so when it happens I just ignore it because I’m so used to it. It doesn’t make me cringe or mad, it’s just something that happens. Outside of that, the rest of the humor I think is genuinely really funny like I said in the video. And tbh the type of stuff you mentioned isn’t inherently a bad thing. A lot of times it can be, like some stuff with bulma and master roshi, but it’s a lot of time done in a very lighthearted and innocent way, like the first wish on the dragon balls. Depends on how bothered you are by that type of stuff

Whatever the heck happened to anime nowadays, they all seem lazy and Degraded in both vision and values. I always thought i might be crazy yhii find these new designs and storyline a bunch of bs, but man u made a masterpiece of a video pointing out everything that i wanted to say but couldn't, hatts off. Best Dragon ball video ever created after what toriyama intially did. Thanks for this, i thoroughly enjoyed every bit

GT stands for Goku time. Literally every other character in GT is worse in some way. Hell, the 'next generation', the whole selling point of the series, got abandoned like near-instantly, and Goku literally had a transformation pulled OUT OF HIS ASS!

The manhwa was great, but the anime just sucked. There were too many unnecessary changes and excessive fan service. Not to mention, the anime felt rushed, leaving some viewers confused about what was happening. Re-reading the manhwa feels much better than continuing to watch the anime.🤷♂️

As someone who doesn't watch a lot of modern anime, it was really jarring to have Broly's amazingly-animated action undercut with so much out of place CGI. The parts where it switches into a completely different, choppy videogame-ass looking thing really took me out of the high bahahah, it's like when in the older movies you could tell some scenes got way more love than others lmao.

tbh i prefer Super Hero because we finally get focus on someone who isn't Goku or Vegeta the movie has problem like nostalgia baiting and Gohan's having the same arc as in the Super's anime.(tbh I just think Toriyama used to write the movies around his little canon that consists of the Super movies and his drafts for the Super arcs he made for Toei and Toyotaro that's why in the movies Jiren is suddently someone that was only slightly stronger than Goku and Vegeta, No Ultra Instinct mention in Broly and Super Hero at all since it wasn't his idea and Gohan's arc for the movie that in his canon didn't happen during the T.O.P and some other differences from the anime or manga canon).

Ehh. I do agree having other characther take the spotlight is cool. I love Piccolo and Pan role. But Gohan.... nah... I can't. What you said make sense but that basically means that Toriyama + all the people that work on this movie care so little about this franchise that they doesn't even bother to correct Toriyama about the movie name itself, Pan flying plot that had been done on Super. Gohan "learning" his lesson again. Even if you exclude Super Gohan had and should have learn the lesson since Buu Saga. Like I said Piccolo and Pan is fine but Gohan himself is what make me roll my eyes in this movie. Plus the Final Battle with Cell Max. Toriyama make the Dragon able to unlock potential now. So Gohan could keep slacking off for another 10 years but when RR try to make another Cell again they could always just wish the Dragonballs to unlock Gohan Potential back. It kinda break the movie narrative on its own imo

Also you forgot the fights are so much worse Remember when Luffy blocked his own kick to avoid getting into Crocodile's trap. Or when Crocodile utilized Alabasta's sand to pair it up with his df? Kizaru vs Luffy is a complete joke next to this. I remember it was being hyped up like Gojo vs Sukuna in 2023 because this was the first Yonko vs Admiral we would see. Not only did Kizaru not utilize his surroundings, we have seen Kizaru go so fast he can put food next to Luffy without anybody, even Luffy noticing then you see him utilize none of this in his fight. Then we finally get the long awaited Nusjuro vs Zoro which is just a bunch of "cling clang cling clang" clash panels until Nusjuro tp's away??

A lot of characters act really stupid in this movie you already mentioned Gohan but why does Bulma just wish for plastic surgery of all things ? Like really when the earth is in danger and Goku dose not know what meditation is it's almost like this movie flips Goku and Vegeta around also we are told the gammas are as strong as Goku and Vegeta probably ssj blue level but when the gammas fight piccolo and Gohan it does not even seem like they are that much stronger than them piccolo should have not even been able to survive a punch from one of them and this is the fightbefore he gets his power up They could have at least made the strength seem overwhelming in DBZ you knew and felt when there was a huge gap in power

I actually agree about Piccolo first fight thing. It seems to show that Gamma is more "skilled" than Piccolo rather than being stronger than him. They really don't show any sense of "desperation" in their first encounter.

Kid DB and DBZ are both part of the same og manga, it's just that the later sagas Saiyan to Buu were released earlier by the name DBZ otherwise they are the same continuation of the same manga, GT and Super are separate and different, the earlier arcs if DB were released later the later arcs released earlier and only anime refers to it as DBZ by Americans, everything from Goku and Bulma hunting dragonballs to Goku defeating Kid Buu happened in Dragon Ball it's the same later spin off GT and sequel Super were released, go educate yourself gen z child!
