How Diana helped change the world's attitude to HIV

When Princess Diana held hands with an AIDS sufferer at the height of the crisis in the 1980s, it shocked many. But that simple gesture turned out to be a turning point, in breaking down the stigma surrounding the illness.
Now, more than 30 years later, her friend, popstar, and prominent AIDS campaigner, Elton John, has delivered a landmark lecture in her memory, celebrating the seismic progress made in treatment and attitudes towards the disease.
