Hey everyone! Paris Masters analysis is coming soon, haven't forgotten about you all :)
@Paolofsarno12Ай бұрын
I am surprised you ignored that Alcaraz lost early Cincinnati, US Open, Shanghai and now Paris....in the back half hard court season...why would you ignore that if its all in consecutive months, not over the year. Doesn't it show he needs to be more consistent? I think you ignored how he was great in summer but inconsistent the first and back part of season esp vs Sinner.
@carlitosfan1764Ай бұрын
@@Paolofsarno12 he didn't ignore it, it just could be that he was really exhausted after winning 2 slams and an olympic medal. we all know how terrible scheduling is in this sport, and i think he made the best possible move. as a huge fan of his, i was happy to seem him out of cincinnati early, he needed the break.

Great video. One thing is not in doubt. He has the highest peak level in the modern game. Maybe even ever. Certainly for his age. My feeling is that with an upgraded serve he’s going to take #1 again next year. And, yes, Fils and Draper are coming in hot. Exciting times :)

I feel like alcaraz compared to sinner has a higher peak, but sinner is more consistent. It explains how sinner has reached at least the quarterfinals of every tournament he's played in, but hasn't beaten alcaraz this year, while alcaraz has quite a few random losses.

I don't think that's true anymore, Sinner had a quantum leap since last year and is already achieved numbers on the level of the big 3. Alcaraz is falling behind, and the ranking is a proof of that. Sinner and Zverev are far better players. Alcaraz serve is still terrible and unreliable. On these fast courts, he is easy prey of any aggressive player.

I’m more fond of Alcaraz than Sinner but something Carlitos has to change that Sinner currently has is the ability to mute the opponent. Too often it seems like guys are able to raise their level against Alcaraz (like Humbert in Paris or Machac in Shanghai) meanwhile Sinner just destroys everyone on his way. Idk if it is that Carlos coasts a little or what
@HoangTruong-vk7ekАй бұрын
Alcaraz is younger and more hot-headed. When players notice they are playing well versus Carlos you can tell he's nervous hence boost their confidence even more. On the other hand, Sinner shows 0 nerves so opponents know they can't get into his head. At the highest level, small margins in the mental game become big.
@nicolaswhitehouse3894Ай бұрын
I agree with you. Alcaraz because of his playstyle makes other tennis players « want » to play tennis. He invites too much his opponent to play some high quality tennis. He still lacks the aura that the big 3 and even Sinner had, that aura that demoralises opponents, rather than making them emphatic to play exceptional tennis.

Thanks and congrats for an excellent report. It seems that Carlos is a man of streaks,good and less good. When he is healthy and inspired there is nobody who can beat him fair and square,he has all the shots and his net game is superior to anyone, but after few victories he seemed to lose relatively easy to a more motivated player. He needs that consistency that used to be part of the Big 3 mindset, but all things considered he and Sinner are the beasts of the tour.

Thoughts on Zverev? It’s strange to think that he’s world #2 despite having only won two titles this year, and Alcaraz is #3 having won four titles including two grand slams. Do you see Sasha as a threat to Sinner/Alcaraz in 2025? His ranking alone would suggest that he is, but he doesn’t seem to have the results to back up his current position.

It's pretty weird that at 6:47 in the video, the diagram rated Zverev's loose forehand at the same level as Rublev's, and somehow even higher than Fritz's. Like, come on - both Rublev and Fritz basically built their whole game around their forehands and huge serves! Plus, we literally just saw Fritz completely outplay Zverev at the 2024 US Open by crushing forehands left and right! I've watched tons of Zverev matches, and honestly, his forehand just doesn't stack up to his backhand unless he's hitting it with really good angles and at very good positions. He plays it way too safe with his forehand - like, so many shots that could've been winners, he just kind of pushes back into play. His great run this year is mostly thanks to his improved net game, which works really well with his serve. Man, if he had a forehand like Sinner's, he'd probably be winning at least one Slam every year.

The laver cup too is an exhibition btw the fact that it counts in the h2h doesn’t change the fact that there is no 3rd set in the laver cup so it makes no sense to count alcaraz 12 match win streak after the laver cup.A competition were you choose arbitrarily the players who will participate makes it an exhibition.
@emmanuelokosun7624Ай бұрын
But do you realize the Laver Cup is an ATP sanctioned event?
@segusoАй бұрын
I think Alcaraz's game is overly dependent on having his legs at 100%. I have doubts about how long this can last. If his legs start to drop (say to 95%) in 2-3 years, he can improve technically in some aspects, but there's not much room for growth.
@Rory626Ай бұрын
Overly dependent on his legs? Have you not seen his forehand?
@黃日恆-l1nАй бұрын
I can’t believe I say this but it certainly feels a bit disappointing for Carlos if he doesn’t take the year end #2 against Zverev even when he won two grand slams. That’s kinda unheard of. The inconsistency on hard court this year is definitely a let down. I think that is something he needs to work on in the future to cope better with those fast hard court. I definitely hope he will surpass Zverev again and end the year in second place- I want a potential Sinner- Alcaraz final a lot more than a semifinal in Melbourne next year.

Sinner is by far the best in 2024 bottom line. His fans keep saying Sinner is a hard court player while Carlos is clay and grass but 2025 all this will change Sinner will show he’s best on all surface but you will have to wait and see. The 2024 season has just completed with Sinner as the overwhelming winner. I predict that he’s the guy to beat on all surfaces 2025. Sinner has all that a true tennis champion needs, everybody speaks about techniques and skills and they’re very important but this’s what Sinner has, skills, techniques, consistency, calmness, steal mind, and he has no defensive shots only attacking.
