Thank you for showing the Eames' house in the Pacific Palisades, CA. It nearly burned down 2 weeks ago. There has been so much devastation in the area and it survived.

‘Bucky”-Buckminster Fuller was a professor at Southern Illinois University (Carbondake, Illinois) when I was a student there. He took to giving his lectures out on the lawns of the campus. He had a multitude of visiting guest students to his lectures. His Dome Home remains in Carbondale, has been cared for & can be still visited. We loved Bucky. ‼️

David Adler and Dankmar Adler are two different architects who practiced in different centuries: Dankmar Adler was associated with Louis Sullivan & is associated with the 19th century Chicago School of Architecture. David Adler did not begin his architectural practice until the early 20th century, approximately a decade after Dankmar Adler’s death, and David Adler’s clients were primarily wealthy Protestants desiring mansions located in the Chicagoland region.

Landscaping really makes or breaks a homes overall appearance. Flowers, trees etc. bring a home to life. Nature is beautiful in its own right.

Thanks for this video-very interesting and well done! I like your synopsis at the end. Another architect designed home for his own use is the Gropius House in Lincoln, MA. It is also outside Boston and open to the public. Gropius was one of the founders/leaders of the Bauhaus.

I love Taliesin I. I stayed in a hotel across the valley from it and had a wonderful view from my window. I have been the Banff Pavilion. Stunning. I would love to see Falling water up close. I love the simplicity of his designs. 🙂🇨🇦

In regards to the glass house: is it beautiful? Yes, definitely is. Would I live in it? Not a chance. It would be like living in a fish bowl. To each their own.

Wonderful content. I wonder what these architects would think of solar panels.

It's funny that we can poo poo a person who updates an old Victorian to suit their tastes, but cherish it when Frank Lloyd Wright does it.

How many Victorian remodels are done by world class architects? Modernism wasn't a thing when FLW worked on his 1st house. There was no influence by popular hack remodelers like Chip and Joanna Gaines to muddy the waters.

FLW built this house in 1889, during the Victorian era. It was not an existing house that he modified. I probably would like any Victorian that was modified by an architect as capable as Wright, anyway.

@@SusyJacuzzi The video clearly states that FLW "...ACQUIRED the house in 1889...", not built it.

@oltedders I checked a few sources, including Brenhan Gill's biography of FLW. They clearly state he bought a plot of land and built the house. Please tell me if you have other information.

Mankind not humankind. Man has always been plural and meant both male and female. Just like the word "dude" was always gender neutral
