I saw how dog evolution made sense because dogs started hanging out with us. But we have these cats who also have a desire to hang out with us too, They probably weren't captured or enslaved either. We dont eat cats. They live as companions in our home. A cat will bug you just to pet them. These guys want to curl up next to us in bed. Or doggy has a duty to sleep at top of the stairs. Damn raccoons (actually I think they're cute-not pets) a to protect us. There is something about cats and dogs where we have become companions. Its different from other domesticated animals. They came to be with us....at least that makes more sense. Sure it probably took many years and we met them half way without eating them :)

Yo. Mommy cat makes baby cats in field of wheat where she hunts for mice. Little children find kittens. "Can we keep them?! Please!!!" BAM. Domestication of the cat.

+Joshua Whitfield From my reckoning from that moment we became their servants aka they domesticated us by, for example, their level of cuteness ; our weakspot. Besides , I tried to play fetch over and over again with different cats, but I failed miserably at it. Those purring furrballs however, kept their cool all the time and on the most unexpected and inconvenient moments they brought me "gifts" (different kind of prey) as well climbing on my lap. Guess what ? A "shoo go away" - command does not work. As in, their deeply entrenched hooked claws at least took care of that. Ouch.... But the purring and little headbutts are somehow enchanting enough to forgive them for that. Ravaged my curtains? Scratch marks on my furniture ? For some reason I cannot keep angry at them..... :-/

Joshua Whitfield It was the other way around. Cats started hanging out with humans because it was easy food because the food storage attracted mice. So cats trained humans to honor the presence of the cats. They allowed humans to pet them so they became as any wild animal can be tamed.

I think this happened. Man begins to live in collective places, eg villages etc. Man starts to cook. Wild cat comes in to villages and steals food. Man chases cat. Kills it, and gets his food back. Cats kittens, discovered. Man brings ( cute ) kitten back to children. The children feed and play with the kitten. The kitten becomes a cat. The cat wanders off and mates. Comes back pregnant. The cat has kittens ( born in the village )... The Cats now become domesticated!!! Hey Presto...No science required😎😎😎👍👍👍😜😜😜

+Shawnise Bennett see what i find funny is atheists don't tell anyone what to believe but every religious person no matter what religion insists that it is the ONLY thing that you should believe in but then can't provide any proof other than an old outdated book. You can believe what you want to believe but religion is going to reduce to nothing in the next century or so because the new generation are being showed the truth and evidence of science and most people my age now believe in science and evolution and not a mythical man in the sky.
