I remember, there's just never an opportune time to bring it up. Also, you CAN choose who wins. But only the main characters were allowed to win. The rest are overruled by Simon. I'm not sure if this is a DVD limitation or if they just found it funny.

3:17 wait a second, isn't that the way Far Far Away Idol works? I remember choosing Shrek and Fiona in the Shrek 2 DVD of this and actually there were different cutscenes for each option for them winning, and for the villain ones there were too, but the "game" didn´t let any of the villains win. Each one had a cutscene of something happening to them and thus victory was guaranteed for Simon Cowell. Maybe it's a mandela effect? Maybe, but at some point I'll take a look at this DVD again to check it out...oh, and nice video btw!
