After the actors' contracts were signed, there were HEAVY re-writes to the script. Murphy was supposed to be a crazed drunk lunatic, and it would have had much more psychological terror involved. From what I've read, it would have been more like the Shining, but at sea (not my words, BTW). Juliana M. was so put off by the re-writes, she didn't want to do it any more when they showed up on location but she couldn't quit because of her contract. Apparently we weren’t the only ones. Half of the theatre was filled by little children with their mothers. Half were gone after the first scene, the other half left somewhere in the middle of the movie. I just loved horror movies although was scared to death and my father didn’t care about my psyche and was asleep for more than half a movie. Loved the music at the end. Until now I thought “Ghost Ship” was a fever dream I had as a kid or something. Have not heard or seen it since then, holy shit

my dad got me to watch ghost ship on the holidays, it sucked however, he also got me to watch Triangle (2007) which was amazing and crazy and you should make a video on it

This movie always holds a special place in my heart because my dad legit took me and my older sister to watch this when it came out 🤣🤣 We were little kids yet we went to see it in theaters I sure wish that I kept the movie tickets
