@susansmith6737 not all pensioners saved and in hope relied on the governments pension yet 40 years ago we all knew the pension would not support us. We had a duty to build savings. Some of the lowest paid would never have been able to save and I hope the government is giving them a little extra. The £300 was introduced as a temporary measure by a labour government and no government has had the nouse to merge it into the OAP. The tax free threshold could have been used to tax the richer in society and claw some back. With the farmers it is a way of life and a major source of food for us all. Their prices are kept low by the supermarkets who pay them just enough to keep them in the farming not business but a way of life and we all benefit from the hours they put in because it is not a 9 till 5 job. They don,t starve but they just manage. A fancy tractor does not imply you are rich.

I personally think he shouldn’t have been helped out at all, because the house is part of the Crown Estate and doesn’t personally belong to the monarchy. It’s disgraceful that only he and Sarah live in such a huge house, while the Prince & Princess of Wales live in house not big enough to have staff. The Wales family have Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace, Sandringham, Kensington Palace, Balmoral, and other residences to choose from. Why are they shoehorned into a small house? Perhaps POW could spend some of his millions from wind farms, Dartmoor Prison, NHS or the RNLI to pay for an extension.

@ no they don’t. Those are the residences of the monarch, not the heir. The only suitable residence for the Wales’s would be where Prince Andrew is. All properties, except Balmoral, which is in Scotland, and Highgrove house are personal properties of the King. The rest are Crown Estate properties, used by the RF by the Monarch’s agreement. Prince Andrew is not a working Royal anymore, and is not the heir to the throne. As such it’s disgraceful that he lives in a property far bigger than the Wales’s. The Prince William and Princess of Wales also need to reside in the Windsor Estate, so that would mean only Frogmore cottage or Andrew’s place are suitable. Andrew’s is much bigger and therefore should be where they live and Andrew is no longer high on the list of important Royals.
