How Did Intelligent Humans Survive in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes

How did humans manage to exist as a highly intelligent species until the era depicted in the film "Planet of the Apes"? Indeed, there existed groups of untamed human populations that have seen a decline in intellectual capacity due to the simian virus for several centuries. However, Mae and her human cohort have managed to endure the apocalypse with their mental sharpness mostly unaffected. In this video, we will thoroughly examine the non-feral nature of these human survivors, their operational headquarters, their potential centuries-long existence, and the plausibility of such a scenario. Essentially, they resemble the inhabitants of the Vault in the Fallout game series. However, let's go to the main point.

I strongly believe that, just like the show and game Fallout, these humans that were able to hold on to their intellect were in bunkers; it's the most likely chance. I don't think isolation from other human colonies/communities would have made a difference. In the war of the planet of the apes, the Alpha and Omega Battalion was isolated, but they still got sick with the mutated virus. Also yes, it has been 300 years since the official fall of human civilization, but I think the main reason why these bunkers, mainly the one Mae went to, stayed intact for so many years is because it's a military bunker or a bunker for past politicians. Which would be sturdy for years for people like that. We also have to remember there are still bunkers from the Cold War in multiple states of the USA; these were steel and concrete-tight bunkers that were to keep people alive for years if there was a nuclear war. Now, you are right about technology being degradable as well as metal, but I think the reason why these people were able to keep their technology functional is by luck and that they sent scavengers for years in hazmat suits to nearby abandoned human buildings and maybe as far as to the city and took generators, batteries of all kinds, sheets of metal from unfinished infrastructure, etc. Lastly with bunkers like what I mentioned before these would carry hundreds or maybe thousands of people and because of the risk of overcrowding they are most likely vegans or vegetarians instead of having domesticated animals.
@Eluzian86
@Eluzian86 2 ай бұрын
For long-term health they couldn't be vegans. If they lived as vegetarians, then they'd be breeding fish in large tanks. The easiest and cheapest things to raise for protein that takes the least amount of space would be rats and mice, and various types of insects. I'd personally think rats as the most likely because then you could do with less of a water source and have a decent bit of meat per animal. Basically it'd be a much greater nuisance dealing with separating meat from the far smaller bones of mice. Also, as far as the isolation and claustrophobic nature of living underground, all you have to do is get the population to survive until the raising of the next generation. Those born underground wouldn't know any different than living underground. Above ground would be the strange and scary place. It could be almost as much of a struggle to get the later generations to go back to living above ground as it would be getting the first generation to start living underground. To make it easier and to have the population as a whole willingly working towards living above ground again, the cultural traditions and celebrations would all be geared toward a focus on that goal, giving it reverence.

To prevent overcrowding there'd have to be strict reproduction control like in the TV show Silo, in order to ensure the population doesn't go above the food production levels.

@@Eluzian86 I can agree with you on that, I really didn't think about that. It isca possibility on them having small insect and fish farms. But on the matter of the humans being in the bunkers, you can't overestimate the fear of people, also like Mae children were likely educated on thecold world of humanity and hatred of the apes for so long. The people from past generations probably told the next generation that it's the apes fault why they can't live better and feel the rays of the sun. Mae seems to be that example she keeps talking to the apes about what does and what does not belong to them even including the world. Hate and ambition can go along way.

@@Eluzian86 Also your theory on strict population control, that might be true. But you also have to consider other reasons why over population wouldn't be a issue. Even though there is no post apocalypse statistics, how many people in that bunker percentage wise can't have kids, or are not interested in the opposite sex, or don't want any because the adults feel like the bunker is a prison.

Neanderthals used fire, made tools, and created art. This is just a movie, but the narrator doesn’t know what he’s talking about when he said that humans devolved into beings possessing the intellect of Neanderthals. Humans in the movie were a lot dumber.

not quite sure about the art... they painted pictures of hunting etc. we call it art to them it was survival . neanderthals did not speak either, they probably made gestures much like apes to each other but, were not apes. intelligent i believe but no deliberate art.

I think it would of been better if these humans were revealed to be the mutant humans from Beneath The Planet Of The Apes the original sequel to Planet of The Apes. This would have connected that film so much better and would of given a good reason how these humans have survived because these are the start to the mutated humans

Humans were doomed at the start like, bro in war they should have gave up their intelligence and go back to stone age. And they literally have the most plot armour like if the new ruler of the apes in the 6th film goes to war with intelligence humans the humans will win THEY ARE LITERALLY gonna keep existing til the judgement day in planet of the apes.

Draco Malfoy could have let Caesar go as soon as Caesar was sent to that Ape Sanctuary, and prevented, all of this chaos, he would have probably been sent to federal prison, for animal cruelty, but at least he would not be electricuted to death, but he would have been rewarded, by breaking the law eventually, and prevented all that chaos.

My theory is there might be peace between the apes and humans by the end of this new trilogy, but there won’t be enough humans to repopulate in a world with a large population of intelligent apes. The humans will go their separate ways and go underground where they evolve and then the next trilogy could lead to towards a retelling of the original movies. But I would love a POTA movie with no intelligent humans, one day.

they must be, in order to rebuild civilization they need a lot of workforce and the primitive human can offer that, they also need constant protection from the intelligent apes who try to eliminate them and the intelligent humans can provide that, the intelligent humans also have the moral burden to invite the primitive humans into their new civilization, together they can form a solid civilization that can withstand apes invasion efficiently

@@_martian101 Well if that happens, there are 2 scenarios that can happen that I could think of. 1. If the 9th movie comes out and its focus is this group of humans, they could create a civilization, and become equals with apes and co exist and the original movies aren't completely canon, or 2. they will attempt to form a civilization but a new strain of simian flu can wipe out these humans, and become lethal again. I could be completely wrong, but maybe im on the right track. I wonder if human civilization returns fully, will humans co exist for the first time ever.

@@StormEngineer2 I don't think the flu is still exist though, maybe the virus is still exist but the mutation for 3 centuries has changed it's capability to infect or harm humans, so the remaining threat is from intelligent apes, chimpanzees as the leader of apes are mostly brutal and they're most likely would never coexist with humans resulting in endless war despite some of ape group would try to cooperate with humans, build strong military is necessity to survive in this new world
@StormEngineer2
@StormEngineer2 2 ай бұрын
@@_martian101 Keep in mind, in one way or another it still exists in humans. For example, in war, the virus lived inside of humans and mutated leading to a more primitive state. Also, it could of mutated again between war and kingdom because the apes seem to be able to control their voices better. Its either a mutation which caused that or natural selection. If the virus didn't exist, why was the woman with the suit walking up to mae to collect the sat com tape if the virus was in fact gone.
