Agree 100% with everything Tyler said... This is a tone-setting trade.. toward making the defense have the same sort of "attitude" that the teams of the early days of Pete Carrol's teams had. Not saying LOB... because he's not a DB, but feels like we just got a Cam Chancellor-like piece. Sign him soon (although don't be like Denver signing Russell Wilson before he even played for them). We just couldn't bring in a linebacker coach and not give him a rock solid MIKE to work with. Guy averages around 10T/game and potential HOF player, will be in Seattle for years to come, for the cost of a 4th round pick? Brilliant trade. Now we need to bolster the O-line with a blue or red chip player.

Wait a few games before offering up a multi year extension... we always go head first into things like this, offer multi year deals to new players, only not to have them very long before they are traded away or cut/ released for somebody new... Seattle's defense seems to feature a lot of capable players now in all areas of the field! That's nice to see! They also have the QB, the WRs, RBs and a good TE. Wow! But what about the O-line? How is Geno gonna get enough time to go through his reads in the future? Just imagine they fix the O-line this year by some miracle. That would make Seattle a real contender! But without a play-off worthy O-line, I don't know!

Titans only gave up a 6th rd pick to the rams and now they receive a 4th rd pick and also receive baker. Giving up a 4th rd pick for a player that wants to get paid by the end of this year is huge risk. As of now Titans won this trade but if Ernest plays so good for seattle and ended up getting signed for many years to come then seattle wins the trade. We shall see on how he will do for the remaining 10 games!

How could you possibly give this trade an A? The trade wasn't contingent on a contract extension, which still has yet to be addressed? He also only has half this season left on his deal. A 4th round pick for a half season rental is only good when that player is a game wrecker that will bring either a Superbowl, or a 3rd round comp pick, which this guy certainly won't bring us!

Leonard William wasn't contingent on an extension either but that worked out well for us. McDonald sees this dude as a foundational piece on the defense so its silly to fearmonger over his departure before he even gets here. Much rather have a proven 24 year old with tons of experience than throwing a dart blind at a weak draft class next year.

True, his trade wasn't contingent on an extension, he was brought in to make a Superbowl run. He also would have brought in a 3rd round comp pick if he had left after the season. There was also very little doubt that JS would try to resign him.

Good guards are hard to find in free agency and even harder to draft. We got the #1 ranked guard in last years draft and he's struggling to get reps.
