As we love Medieval History there are a lot of chapters including the Ottomans or the Arabs. We tried to work on a few series. So we would have more topics like this one. Prophet Mohammed (SAW) actually declared war first, but it was an intelectual and spiritual type of war, and was certainly the most devastating and harmful to the interests of the arabian tribes, which did force them to respond militarily to his actions.

The Sassanian Empire and Byzantine Empire. He dispatched messengers and told both leaders that they must accept the new religion of Islam. The messenger sent to Sassania Empire was ridiculed and the one sent to the Byzantine Empire was slain. Muhammed than ordered to launch a raid on the Ghassanid region that belonged to Byzantine. This raid was a failure and they were defeated by Byzantine. At one point the legendary commander Khaleed Ibn Al Waleed converted to Islam and joined Muhammed in the war. So basically Muhammed declared war on neighbouring nations, ordering them to accept Islam, or pay the Jyzyia tax, or death in battle. This conquest latest for years, and was lead by the successors of Muhammed, Umar al Khatab, and the next caliphate. Please dont spread nonense.. we have historical records that we can use to verify a few things. "Intellectual and spiritual type of war" lol, what utter nonsense... @@Ealdorman_of_Mercia Hi, I'm not here to argue that Islam is a pacifist religion, it was not and it was not meaned to be one, islam allow military actions in regulated contexts. the military actions at the start were necessary to spread the monotheistic message and preserve this new born religion, that will certainly not be seen with an eye of satisfication by the two neighboring empires with their own very established religions. What is essential to understand here is that the message of islam was meant to be spread to all humanity, whether people accept it or not is their choice(jews and christians in egypt and the levant continued to practice their religions),but it was meant to be spread, which sooner or later would have put them in conflict with the two empires, war in any case was not something evitable.

to be accurate, Mohammed reaction after his 1st encounter with Gabriel wasn't exactly as you mentioned, he told his wife out of fear (he came frightening saying cover me! cover me!) not preaching, and she sent for her brother, and there's a whole verse of the Quran named after his state of fear (al-muddathir), plus Mohammed always was monotheistic and wasn't the only one, many people were, a mentor figure of his and his wife's brother Waraqah Bin Nawfal Al-Asadi (the sources aren't decisive whether he was a jew or Cristian, but most of the sources claim he was a Christian) was the one who assured him that this was a call from God and he holds the honor of being the first man to believe in Mohammed, he died early before the new religion had become clear though.

Great work to cover so much in such short time, here are some important events which I would like to add, when the Beloved prophet reached Madina he did three very crucial works, 1) Construction of Prophet's mosque which served as the capital, court, headquarters, intelligence and of course spiritual center. 2) establishing kinship between the muhajir (immigrant Muslims of Makkah) and Ansar (helper Muslims of Madina) through marriages etc. 3)signing of joint defense pact with the three Jewish tribes residing in Madina (banu Nadhir, banu Quraiza and banu Qaynuqa) all the three tribes signed the treaty and all the three tribes broke the treaty at battle of Badr, Uhud and khandaq (trench) and were expelled and executed. This is a very crucial point of the life of Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him) as it would become the roots of Islamic policy on world stage too. If one studies the 'seera' (biography) of Beloved Prophet he/she would come to know that he was not just a prophet like Jesus(who could not establish the law) or Moses (whose successor could not sustain the law) or Buddha (who had nothing to do outside spirituality) and he was not merely introducing a religion rather he was a complete Socio-Economic-Spiritual leader who was establishing a revolution the like of which has never been seen in the past or future.

When Mecca was conquered, Mohammad (PBUH) proclaimed “This is the day of mercy!” He divided his troops into four divisions to enter the city from four different directions. Before entering Makkah, while still seated on his camel, the Prophet bent low, prostrating in humility and gratefulness to Allah. When he heard of the skirmish between Khalid bin Walid’s troops and Ikrimah’s men, he was angry and said, “Did I not forbid fighting?”. He said there would be no looting, no plunder, no mistreatment of women, and anyone that doesnt raise arms will not be harmed. “Go your way for you are the freed ones!” Only four persons were given the death penalty, which had nothing to do with this conquest. He followed the words of the Quran that said "retaliation is valid, but foriveness is better and worthy of reward". Assalam Alaikum

You made many mistakes 1) His family was not involved in any politics earlier. 2) Before the battle of badr the strategy was to block the trade route but makkans got the speculations of raid. 3) you forgot to mention important middle battles, like Battle of Khayabar, Battle of Mu'tah and Battle of Tabuk. Just to shed more light on the first battle of Islam (Badr), it was the battle for rights. When Muslims were forced left Mecca, they left what they couldn’t take, which there was many things was left behind. Abu Suffuyan said “We will take what they left behind and sell it in the Levant.” He had no right to do and the Prophet, peace be upon him, tried to stop the caravan, but it slipped away and the 1000 army soldiers and Abu Suffuyan made a great wealth from what he took and sold. Another point is when Muslims took Mecca, there wasn’t any on others. It was a win by hearts, that’s what Abu Suffuyan said as he was a witness among all.

There is a historic mistake in the video 4:55 when you mention that Abu Sufyan was leading the battle against the Prophet! That's not accurate, Abu sufyan was leading a caravan but when he heard that the Muslims were out looking for him he diverted his route and eventually escaped to reach his home of Mecca. The Quraish tribe had already been notified by a messenger that the Muslims were out looking for Abu sufyan's caravan, so they prepared an army and went out to look for the Muslims and thats when they met at Badr. The leaders of the Quraish tribe were Abu Jahl and Utba Ibn Rabia and Umaya Ibn Khalaf. Update: I saw the update provided by the video creators and I'm glad they had already mentioned the historic mistake. That shows great attention to detail, great work guys.
