We see the barbed wire on Lucille change and shift positions almost every episode (Sometimes the same episode) That's because unlike Irl replicas of Lucille, the barbed wire isn't nailed down in the show. Therefore, he could be unwrapping the barbed wire to clean it.

@@fredselvaggio1435 That could be it too, because going back, close up shots of Lucille, she does definitely have nails holding the barbed wire in place, but I don't think that was their intention, because in Negan's backstory, he just wraps the barbed wire around the bat, he doesn't use any nails, so I think the barbed wire is meant to be just wrapped around, but this isn't realistic, and it's a very slight inconsistency.

It is nailed down, you can see the nails in close up shots. The reason the barbed wire constantly shifts is because they had multiple different prop bats made, and not all of them turned out the same.

It's simple, first you wash it off with water to remove any leftover chunks of flesh and also remove most of the blood, then unwrap the barbed wire and wash it with anti-rusting agent, which probably could be found in any hardware store or garage considering most people wouldn't hoard anti rusting agent like food or water, then you rub the actual bat itself with rubbing alcohol to remove any grime, then to give the bat a nice finish use linseed oil which will also remove dirt and grime as well as giving it a nice polish, then simply re-wrap the barbed wire around the bat. Now your ready to bust some skulls in style.

Probably soaks it in some sort of cleaning fluid. If you soak it for a bit in hot water with the right cleaning chemicals, the gore will come right off of it. Then you just need to handle anything that is still stuck. Assuming you even care to. Most of that stuff won't be visible unless you look real closely.

I own a Lucille replica that I made myself, totally real. I have a tradition every year after Halloween to smash my jack o' lanterns/pumpkins with it 😂 As far as cleaning it goes, any kind of running water will do the job easily, with still water it's just a lot of swishing the bat around in the water and using a rag to pick and pry the rest off without poking or scratching yourself.

How did he keep a leather jacket clean in the zombie apocalypse lever is something that you need to take care of on a constant daily basis and if you don’t take care of it, it will start to crack and mold and become gross. This is why it’s very unlikely that he could’ve taken care of a leather jacket in the zombie apocalypse because of all the zombie, guts and stuff he probably got on it.
