When I found out Paul was a shyster and I'd been lied to all my life I was livid!! First I was mad at the church then I was mad at myself the scriptures were right there in the New testament for me to read that show what kind of a person this man was! I chose to ignore it for almost 30 years I chose to ignore it. Thank Hashem for having Mercy on me and allowing me to see the truth!

We're all SO glad that you came to the point in your life where you ALLOWED God to open your eyes to His Truth! I think it's the same with all of us who were trapped in false, pagan, man-made, blasphemous Christianity for decades, and were led to listen to what Rabbi Singer, Rabbi Skobac, and other Orthodox Rabbis had to say about the words that Hashem gave to Moses at Mt. Sinai! I say "allowed", because WE have to choose to want to know God's Truth - because He forces Himself on nobody, and will leave us right where we are, if we're not TRULY interested to learn His Truth. May Hashem continue to bless and guide you on your new spiritual path, Susan!! 😊

@@mtalk828Rabbi Singer completely misrepresents 1 Corinthians 9:20. Paul is trying to say to a Jewish audience he affirms to that audience his understanding and his prior identity as a Jew like a kind of solidarity with them and with their belief even though it's a belief he no longer embraces. I see nothing wrong with with demonstrating shared history and showing solidarity while at the same time Paul shares a richer understanding of faith.

*Deuteronomy 4:32-40* 32. For ask now regarding the early days that were before you, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and from one end of the heavens to the other end of the heavens, whether there was anything like this great thing, or was the likes of it heard? 33. Did ever a people hear God's voice speaking out of the midst of the fire as you have heard, and live? 34. Or has any god performed miracles to come and take him a nation from the midst of a[nother] nation, with trials, with signs, and with wonders, and with war and with a strong hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great awesome deeds, as all that 'ה your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes? 35. You have been shown, in order to know that 'ה He is God; there is none else besides Him. 36. From the heavens, He let you hear His voice to instruct you, and upon the earth He showed you His great fire, and you heard His words out of the midst of the fire, 37. and because He loved your forefathers and chose their seed after them, and He brought you out of Egypt before Him with His great strength, 38. to drive out from before you nations greater and stronger than you, to bring you and give you their land for an inheritance, as this day. 39. And you shall know this day and consider it in your heart, that 'ה He is God in heaven above, and upon the earth below; there is none else. 40. And you shall observe His statutes and His commandments, which I command you this day, that it may be well with you and your children after you, and that you may prolong your days upon the earth which 'ה your God gives you forever.

Paul separates Faith from the law and James says Faith without works is dead. Christianity can appease anybody, just depends on where you read and which contradictory passage you have chosen to soothe your soul that day. It seems like a monumental task to unravel such a conspiracy. I can't even imagine all the ill-intent that went into creating it. When Paul stated that it had become unprofitable, I think he revealed a lot in that statement.

Josephus and Tactius were born and wrote long after Jesus died. Nothing not one speck mentioned. One must pause...

A] I think you are referring to the Binding of Isaac [Genesis 22:12] where an angel of God calls out to Avraham and says, _”Now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only one, from Me."_ While It’s true that the angel speaks in the first person, this is common pattern in the Tanach, where angels often speak on behalf of God, delivering messages as if they’re directly from God, without implying any plurality [clearly in our Shema: "Hear, O Israel: 'ה our God, 'ה is one" - *[Deuteronomy 6:4]*
@Raizel613
@Raizel613 4 ай бұрын
B] Angels are purely spiritual beings created by God to perform specific tasks. They don’t have free will and are not independent entities with divine attributes. They are extensions of God's will, each with a particular purpose or message to convey. Judaism is strictly monotheism, where God is one, singular, and indivisible, without multiple essences or parts. This is highlighted in our liturgy, daily prayers, our study of Torah and halacha [Jewish law]. The various names found in the Tanach are descriptions/attributes of God and His relationship to the world.

Because, for fear of reprisals after the death of Jesus, the disciples did not break entirely free from the Old Testament, much of the Old Testament thought was carried forward into the Christian religion. Instead of animals, the body and blood of Jesus were substituted to be the supreme blood sacrifice to receive the forgiveness of sins. After many years and the entry of Rome as protector of the Christian religion, like the Jewish priests before them, the Roman priests dressed themselves in costly vestments and used silver and gold appurtenances for religious ceremonies. In the time of Paul, this would have been unthinkable. The simple message of Paul was "salvation by the death of Jesus on the cross" which was NOT the message Jesus brought to the Jews in Jerusalem. Paul perpetuated a pagan tradition of "blood sacrifice to pay for one's own sins." What shameful cowardice! Yet, Paul also performed a great service to humankind, since Paul set in motion a movement which would be the means of blessing all races equally. Paul outlined a mode of thought and daily conduct which would bring harmony into the lives of those who tried to live according to his teachings, NOT according the teachings of Jesus. Either way, Christian traditionalists vociferously reject the words of Jesus. They resent the constant allusion of Jesus to the pagan practice of blood sacrifice to please God and obtain the forgiveness of sins, but no matter what their objections may be, the historical fact remains that the whole complex system of blood sacrifice is dedicated to a myth, a fallacy and a figment of the imaginations of men, a rationalization of what the minds of men cannot spiritually comprehend.

But at the end of the day Paul was more brilliant than any Hebrew Bible writer ever was. Look at the following Paul has today. As for me, I figured out all I need to know about Abrahamic religions. It took me well over 50 years as a Christian to get there but I got there. My peace of mind has never been better. Jesus may have been crazy but he was genius never the less. Jesus was a pay grade ahead of Judaism.

Well, again not to argue the rightness or wrongness of the theology, but Catholics and Orthodox, which are probably 80% of Christians use the Hebrew meaning for faith and don't hold that faith replaced the need to follow the law. Faith for them means "faithfulness" and "steadfastness" to the law, but see Paul not as saying that Faith replaces the law, but that it is your faithfulness to the law rather that your "Pharisaic 'focus on the details' " that matters. While Tovia raises many interesting questions for me, he also continues to misrepresent the bulk of historical Christian's beliefs.

Hear the list of churches that don’t make the cut. corinthians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, Thessalonians, but Galatians becomes one of the churches of Revelation 1:11. A] In Genesis 17:1-14, God establishes the covenant with Abraham, commanding him to circumcise himself and all male members of his household as a everlasting sign of the covenant between God and the descendants of Abraham. While circumcision [Brit milah] was practiced in ancient cultures such as Egypt, in Jewish practice it’s entirely based on the divine commandment given to Abraham; mark of the bond between God and the Jewish people. Brit milah [circumcision] represents more than a physical act; it’s a deeply spiritual ritual….
@Raizel613
@Raizel613 4 ай бұрын
B] Without going into detail…according to Jewish tradition, Abraham was circumcised at the age of 99 because Hashem [God] commanded him to do so. The act of circumcision at such an age served as a test of Abraham's faith, showing his dedication and commitment to fulfilling the will of Hashem. It also symbolized the eternal and spiritual covenant between Hashem and Abraham, a covenant that would be continued by his descendants as a sign of their relationship with Hashem. Also, the circumcision of Abraham, late in his life, before the birth of his son, Yitzchak [Isaac], marked the miraculous beginning of the Jewish people and Abraham's lineage with the establishment of a nation bound to Hashem by this special commandment.

Assuming that Paul existed and that he was a descendant of a Jew(s), there’s no doubt in my mind that he had reached the pinnacle of Hellenization. [Apollonius -> a-PAUL-lonius]. The modern day equivalent would be a non-Jew sending his saliva to 23&Me, finding he had a great great grandfather who was Jewish, calling himself an Orthodox Jew, reading once through the Jewish Bible, claiming he alone had some vision based around some dead guy whose existence is also questioned, and, finally, proclaiming he was the only one endowed with the knowledge to expound on issues relating to both Judaism and the dead guy.

The existence of Jesus is not in question - Flavius Josephus - Antiquities of the Jews 18.3.3. We also know a New Covenant was prophesied to be given (Jeremiah 31:31-34), it would have provided atonement for Israel’s sins (Ezekiel 16:59-63, Luke 22:20) and it would have been given at some point after Judah returned from Babylon (Jeremiah 50:1-5).

Talk about embarrassing history the tenach is full of embarrassing history, but it is very sadly realistic in a world that God destroyed once by a flood and will again by fire. Nowhere in Scripture does it say that Gd will destroy the Earth with fire, just as nowhere in Scripture is there a Sacrificial Resurrecting Virgin born Messiah who dies for People too lazy to atone for their own sins, just as there is no Fallen Angels, no Devil, no Lucifer, no Hell of eternal torment, no lake of fire, those are the false teachings of the LAST BEAST, Enemy of Gd and His Chosen.

Tovia and James misunderstand Paul in Philippians 3:5-6 --- Paul describes his mindset there when he was persecuting the Jewish followers of Yeshua: He was then a Jew, respecting the Law, damning the supposed renegade messiah---IF Yeshua ever so characterized himself, we do not know---then adopting and adapting that renegade quality to his creation called Iezou---the legendary Son of Zeus who Greeks, it was predicted, knew would someday come to eclipse his father, Zeus to the Greeks (and for extra personal measure, Ywhw to Jews, who may have eventually wanted to follow Paul's lead). Paul at first would appeal, he planned, ONLY to Gentiles, OUTSIDE the Law, the NEW God primarily for non-Jews only, who, he said to himself, REPLACED the Hebrew covenant with a New one, and shot out to Galatia to start gathering flocks of gentiles and pagans only, divorcing himself from the Law and Judaism in favor of its replacement religion HE BIRTHED. That's what Philippians 3:5-6 refers to. He achieved his intended goal but only long after his death. The Greek Gods, and Zeus himself, eventually turned to myth, and his other intended target began its current 1900-yr long persecution as the innocent culprits of Iezou's crucifixion, killed not by the Roman authorities who were actually responsible, but the Jews who Paul turned into his enemies of his new God merely because they would not accept belief in him. One of Paul's successors, Hitler, was a man after Paul's evil heart, his Roman Church notably silent throughout that genocide, supporting it, as we found out after the obvious fact of their silence; which equals complicity.

Or, Peter warning about the scoffers and the destruction which 'will come like a flood on that age' (the last days). Paul didn't write that, all written before 70AD. Yeshua is the Messiah, the stumbling stone.

The key factor to me is that people need to read it, acknowledge, and understand what they just read. The things that will keep us seperated after Christians realize the Hebrew Scripture doesn't support the NT are the traditions and customs and the thought that somebody has to convert to Judaism or be a Noahide or wear a hat or do a lot of things they don't understand. We need to set labels aside. Fact is, There aren't enough sparrows, pigeons, bulls or sheep to atone for all our problems and a lot of laws were merely man made for the time at hand. So, apparently, there is discretion and plenty of grey area. This is where I start wading with Tovia Singer because ultimately, God and his will needs revealed. How, when and what that will look like it up to God! The bottom line is acknowledging God as your creator, provider, sustainer, and walking humbly with him and helping others when you can. Your title is not important! Being simple, caring and decent to one another is always a good start. God Bless!
