I actually like the 90s reason for it, Like the spider-bite gave him a bit of instinctive knowledge that certain chemicals went together to make the fluid

You can also mix it with the ultimate origin Peter's father made the formula but didn't complete it (like in ultimate) After Peter got bit by the spider, it gave him an instinctive knowledge to complete the formula that his father left unfinished

the most realistic approach in that list to the web fluid is peter inheriting the formula from his father/oscorp. however this is also problematic and a convenient plot device as that is an unusually specific thing they so happen to have. the tobey maguire "organic" webbing is also problematic because its unusually convenient that the spinnerets localized in his wrist to so he can websling. i think the best way to tackle this is to have peter manufacture it using a resource he only has access to. like perhaps the spider bite altered his dna such that his spit has weblike properties, so he add things to it and synthesizes web fluid that way.

I think the premise that a high schooler couldn't synthesise web fluid is false; there's no age limit to invention! My take on what happened is Peter's dad was a Synthesist at Oscorp, so Peter was introduced to synthesising chemicals as a hobby at a young age, which equipped him with baseline Synthesist skills. Then when he got bit by the spider, as the 90s argument goes, it gave him an instinctive sense for what the constituents of a spider silk like material would be (perhaps by something as bizzare as the smell of the reagents as his spider-human brain unconciously recognises what it WOULD Synthesise if it had the physiology to) - then he used his Synthesist skills to trial and error the preparation of the fluid and voila, Web Fluid! That being said, the web fluid is only really useful for swinging if you have the Spidey Strength to deal with the tensile forces in each arm and throughout your body as you swing! (Building the electromechanical webshooter seems like a comparitively simpler thing to do, as shown by the abundance of tutorials on KZbin - the web fluid was the truly impressive feat!)
@andrewyang7385
@andrewyang7385 3 жыл бұрын
TL;DR - his spider instinct helped him sniff out the chemicals involved, and his creativity helped him create the reaction pathway, and his Synthesist skills helped him Figuring out the chemicals involved was the first (research based) hurdle that alot of researches are still trying to get to!

I personally really love the way TASM did it. The reason Raimi did organic webbing for Peter was because he considered it unbelievable that a broke kid living in Queens could a make a super material that could hold up his weight. So the TASM films have a nice compromise where he's technically intelligent enough to put together the web shooter and use his connections with Connors to gain access to the biocable product (web fluid). Because realistically isn't that what any inventive teenager with spider powers would do? If there's a product that already does what you need it to do then all you'd have to do is build the device to shoot it. Later on he says he makes his webbing in a lab which means he must've lost access to it after Connors was thrown in jail, thus leading him to reverse engineer the web fluid

Yeah.. I know Tony said that Peter made it himself, which is technically the writers telling us that in this continuity Peter made them all by himself like in the 616 universe.

Didn’t in the animated series say that the spider passed on a instinct of knowledge for the webbing
@ArachniNotion

Yeah, I think so. What if the web formula is inside of Peter's body and he examined it to determine how to mass produce it into a web shooter, So that way you get organic web shooters with mechanical mixed together for a story line.

Arachni-Notion And when all his web cartridges are empty he can insert a tube in the spinnerets on his wrist and they siphon it out like an IV and carry it to the web shooter But due to this being a tiring thing to do it’s a last resort and the cartridges are preferable Why doesn’t anything do what I just suggested!?! Best of both worlds!

He most likely did lots of research on how to make the mechanisms for the web shooters and the web fluid itself. He must have also have experimented with certain chemicals in order to make a compound that is as strong as spider silk.

Spiderman in Spiderman homecoming there is a scene that shows Spider-Man in science class or chemistry class making web fluid so yeah Peter Parker made his web fluid in the MCU and Tony Stark just made it better.

I've only read Superior Spider-Man, Spider-Verse and Fall of Parker. Out of those I liked the Superior Spider-Man and Spider-Verse story lines and did not like the Fall of Parker. I've heard of the recent news that Dan Slott will be leaving Spider-Man and I'm happy that new energy will be working on the series, since Dan Slott has been doing that series for the past 7 years now.

I’m just trying to find out HOW to make some myself... I’m only in High School, so I’m just staying inventive. I’m not trying to make it to the web slinging part (yet at least) I just want to see if I can find one that’s just strong enough to fire out, maybe make an actual web, not the strongest, but maybe just enough to support parkour moves. You know?

Honestly there’s only one way this can work for me I’ve compiled my own backstory based on various other works and I really think it should be the cannon explanation Produced organically, fired mechanically The organic webbing makes more sense given what his backstory is but appears to be unlimited which makes for a less interesting story than the web fluid just running out and the web shooters are a central part of the character at this point and look so much cooler plus when they run out it adds tension to the whole thing It never made sense that peter couldn’t produce his own webs organically but when he did it never made any sense that it was as unlimited as it was since that was coming out of his body and real life spiders have to eat a certain diet to maintain their supply Real life spider silk is a liquid and doesn’t turn solid until it hits the air which is exactly how peter’s web fluid works Another thing I found was a comic that reveals that peter researched and developed for the web shooters for months and maybe even years before he was bitten by the spider and I personally think that this makes a lot more sense than just coming up with it on the fly maybe it could be a wrist mounted water gun with releasable water cartridges or something Peters dad was an Oscorp scientist in TASM and I think it would add extra weight to the story if the spider that bit the son was created by the father before he died and this wouldn’t be a plot contrivance either since the school going to oscorp for a field trip is plausible as oscorp is a crucial place and peter wanting to look at something his father developed only for it to hitch a ride with him would be very believable I would also love it if after the spider bites him and he gains his powers he realizes he can shoot webs out of his wrist but this is hard to control and even tires him out a bit so he modifies the releasable water gun he created previously and then learns to harvest his web fluid and fill the water cartridges with it thus changing their purpose into web cartridges In homecoming there are straps all over his body that hold web cartridges and I really like this because it’s practical and even has a cool look which is why I kept the cartridges The harvested webbing can also be modified into things like ricochet webs, impact webbing and taser webs or just be put into these cartridges Then maybe during a fight all the web cartridges end up empty but the bad guy still hasn’t been defeated so then he inserts a tube into the spinnerets on his wrist and thus tube siphons the web fluid allowing him to shoot it at people but due to this being a very tiring thing to do the releasable cartridges are still the preferable option Also there’s the issue of clean up the web fluid dissolve after 2 hours but with organic webbing that’s kind of avoided unless peter invents a special solvent and supplies said solvent to the local law enforcement

When I was young I thought that in the comics It was, "produced organically, fired mechanically". I thought that he had the web fluid in his blood stream or somewhere in his wrist and he made a device that would be injected into his arm to obtain the web fluid and he would just shoot them out. It wasn't till I watched The Amazing Spider-Man (2012 Film) That I discovered that there was no organic element at all. It's shot out and stored entirely in the device. Peter just made web shooters because, "a spider needs a web!".
