In the Hebrew and the context of the time, the writer of Genesis was not referring to an actual serpent. Rather it is a description of a character or rather entity and its nature. A nice teaching to receive more context on this, would be Michael Heiser's presentation on the subject. It gives a nice understanding of how the Hebrew writers originally wanted to convey the meaning of the text.

Greetings. Jesus Christ is Lord. The Bible tells us in the epistles that no prophecy (scripture) came by man's private interpretation rather Holy men spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. And the Spirit of God/Christ inspired directly all scripture. Believing that certain words or parts of scripture were arranged or put in because ancient Hebrew scholars were trying to convey a certain meaning is blatant unbelief wrapped up in puffed up academic pride. I pray in truth, love and sincerity that we the church Believe the The Word of God for what it is - The WORD OF GOD.

The Bibles we read today are translated from the original languages, Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek. Hence, it will be wise to understand what the original languages mean when the authors wrote the scriptures.

If Moses (the writer of the book of Genesis) was not referring to an actual snake (serpent), then explain verse 14 of chapter three of Genesis. (upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life, KJV).

@@boogieman3165 doesn't refer to an actual snake (snakes don't eat dust). It is in reference to how far the deceiver will fall. In other words from a being who had great majesty, authority and power in his first estate, to one that will eventually be below all. It is a prophetic word of where satan's end will be. From great to the lowest of the low.

For me it does not seem that Adam and Eve sinned within 24 Hours. They both were created on the 6th day. Adam gave names to all the animals on the sixth day. After that, God created Eve out of Adam's rib. On the seventh day God rested from his work. To me this could mean, that Adam and Eve were still in the Garden. But I don't think that the time frame is really that important.

I believe that God was referring to satan as a serpent because of his forked tongue. His words are poison. He is the father of lies. Eve was actually speaking to God's most beautiful fallen angel in the midst of the garden.

Just putting a question out there...How can Eve display "Irritation", a characteristic of evil, or the knowlege of it, when she had not yet eaten of the fruit of the tree of "the knowledge of good and evil "? The way I understand things, God only wanted man to know good, but man was given a free will, just like God has (Remember, "Let Us make man in Our image, in Our likeness "?), and what good is a free will, if that will cannot choose evil? Hence, God placing the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil (TotKoGaE) in the center of the garden. Remember, after God finished creating, He stop and looked at it and called it, "Very Good!" That means man already possessed the knowledge of good only. So if man and woman only knew good, how can the woman possess the ability to be "irratated", by being disallowed to eat of the TotKoGaE? In fact, how can Eve even "exaggerate", which is lying, if she only knows good? No disrespect to Pastor Allan. Just trying to get a clear understanding of this vital passage of Scripture, that laid the foundation to the chaos and destruction we endure to this day, which is the sin nature of all mankind.

Odd that Pastor Nolan said that Eve was gonna die if she ate from the tree but the snake told her she wouldn’t but his theology teaches that you don’t die your soul is eternal.

Jesus defeated death when he died on the cross. Anyone that puts their faith in Jesus and what he did on the cross will live for eternity with the Father in Heaven. Those who choose not to believe in what Jesus did on the cross experience death, which is an eternity with Satan

The animals did speak in the Garden. This feature was removed due to man's fall. We know this because scripture tells us man will be vegetarian in the Millennial Rule of Christ and that curse regarding animal communication will be removed. Man will be able to speak to the animals and they to man In the Millennial Rule. Scripture does say this in the book of Revelation. We see a brief instance of the curse lifted when Balaam was able to understand and speak to his donkey. All praise to the Most High in the mighty name of Jesus the Christ. God bess.

The Serpent, as the whole story of the Fall is based on an Egyptian Serpent god Apep, who chased the Sun god Ra across the sky. Thereby Apep is considered by those Jews at that time to be evil. This was a story that Moses would have heard since his youth. What better way to ingrain into the mind by a story.

@@roseofjericho7514 Moses is the author of Genesis. Moses was an Egyptian Prince. He would have been schooled in Egyptian Mythology. The Israelites were slaves in Egypt at the same time. Both Moses and the Israelites would have known these stories. Moses used these gods, not as gods that existed, but as a story for the Israelites to understand the history of the world. This would have been how Moses would have taught since most Israelites were uneducated. Acts 7: 22Moses was educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and he was proficient in speaking and action. Notice that this is from Stephen's defense. By saying that the story of Creation, is based on an Egyptian story does not take away from the significance that God created the universe and all that is in it. The prophecy in the Bible is more than a third filled. The only thing that we are waiting on is the return of Christ.

The Serpent which was Satan deceived Eve by first communicating with her, she then starting questioning everything God said, once this happened both her and Adam died spirituality and later physically.

4:36 I don't agree with the argument about the devil using Elohim because even Genesis 1:1 we are introduced to God as Elohim. 🤷🏾‍♂️ Secondly, you say God introduced Himself to the Israelites as Jehovah, then it means this revelation came several years later after the fall. The Bible does not indicate that He introduced Himself to Adam and Eve as Jehovah.

Since man was created the afternoon of the sixth day Adam must have named all the animals late into the evening and Eve was made later that night just in time for bed. Then on the seventh day while God was napping Satan did his dirty work through the snake that had legs until the eighth day when he was cursed onto his belly?

To my understanding it was not the first year. The bible really don't speak on they timlap on when adam and even sin. But before he sin it was called the time of innocence. Christ lived for 33 years or so. And this is the spiritual time of innocence. So in my book they lived 33 years before they sin it would be magical to me if you can understand the spiritual world.

The creation story in the Holy Bible says that after God created HE saw that EVERYTHING was good, The Holy Bible mentions that after day six when God completed creation that Everything WAS GOOD, Then God rested on the seventh day. The fall of Lucifer happened AFTER the creation period. So it is not scriptural to say that Eve could have been tempted 24 hours after she was created when The Holy Bible Scripture says that EVERYTHING remained GOOD during the six Day Creation timeline. Satans fall happened after the creation period because when he fell, he no longer was good nor did he have the position of anointed Cherubim like he had previously and was able to walk previously in the garden of Eden as protector and guardian. Lucifer lost that position when he fell from Gods Grace.Lucifer/satan after sin was found in him was cast down from heaven with a third of the angels that are now demonic fallen angels Eve was tempted by fallen lucifer/ satan who took possession in the serpent to tempt Eve. Sin pride was first found in Lucifer than a third of the angels, than he came to tempt and deceive Eve by making her question Gods Word by the flattery of pride and initializing in her, her own pride/sin.

The Bible says God cursed it into a snake after its meeting with Eve so it didn't start off being a snake but yes the devil is called the serpent and he did talk through it but its called a beast meaning an animal, not a reptile The LORD God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, cursed are you above all livestock and above all beasts of the field; on your belly, you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life. So you see it didn't start on its belly but because its evil nature was like the serpent God changed its form to match its spirit and remember Jesus called the Pharisees a bunch of foxes not because they were actual foxes but he was calling out their nature or the way they behaved.

I disagree...there was no talking snake in the garden of Eden. Lucifer was in the garden with Adam and Eve and if you translate "snake" into Hebrew it is deceiver or sneaky. Another biblical animal that is also a biblical character’s first name is ‘na•chash,’ snake or serpent. Regardless of the name you see in your Bible, Hebrew has only one term for it and it is ‘na•chash,’ snake. In 1833, an anonymous Anglo-Saxon linguist or author was the first to make a connection between the name ‘snake’ and the character of this deceitful creature, as we learn from the famous Biblical story, by coining the term ‘sneaky.’ The Hebrew language uses two different terms with no morphological connection between the two. Arum, which is ‘Sneaky’ in Hebrew, is not related to the name ‘na•chash.’ Why was Lucifer in the garden with Adam and Eve? When you answer that question, you will begin a journey seeking facts and facts will lead you to the truth.

One of my favorite pastors, along with Chuck Missler, Robert Breaker, John Barnett and John MacArthur, but Pastor Nolan is way out of his league here and misleads everyone on the firmament. You are wrong pastor, i suggest you do not preach this anymore, neither the polar shift, they are misleading and contradict the Bible.
