@veganpotterthevegan One car, 4 tyres, 500 miles. 7 bikes + any given day, 2200 miles, X 22 teams. Different tires different days. It's still a lot more than I use in a year. "For the Daytona 500 specifically, race teams are allowed 8 sets of tires for practice and qualifying, and 7 sets of tires for the race itself (per car). This adds up to a total of 60 tires needed per car."

@Seppe De Vos sure, but risking a crash? In my opinion not worth it. What if she comes to a stop safely, then wait for the team car or neutral service, get a spare wheel or a spare bike. Sit in the draft of the team car and get brought back to the peloton?

@Seppe De Vos great insight. I race in America. All we have is mostly criterium. If you have a mechanical, you can go to the pit, get a spare wheel or your spare bike. Rejoin the peloton as they pass through the pit the next lap.

In the moment it might have been easier than it seemed. I have done 360 degree spins on my road bike in wet leaves on accident and was able to not go down thanks to the grass stopping my slide, My keys in my pocket still jabbed me in the leg but I didn't crash.

Happened to me a few times. Worse to do is panic. Always stay focused to stay on the bike. And when you are out of worse for second leave the brakes and find the tires grip. This is the best scenario 😂

No you're right there. A lot of the lads I ride with use Vittoria Corsa tan walls because they're fast, supple and look great. They get lots more flats than I do though. I use Continental GP 5000's because I hate changing flats with cold hands, and that is likely where I live. They aren't as pretty or as fast as the Vittorias, but they are much less likely to flat. Just with Jumbo getting so many flats at Paris Roubaix on Sunday past, I thought it would be a bad look for whoever their supplier is.
