Aksum back days was called abbysinia. Aksum empire did not extended to east Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, southern somalia uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and northern Mozambique, eastern congo. These countries are used to be called AZANIA. Big tortoise shells, ivory , gold are used to be available at somalia, Kenya , Tanzania and Mozambique. There is ancient town in Tanzania called Kilwa kisiwani , is the place or center for business between sofala (great Zimbabwe) and India, china, and Egypt. This town ruins still there. The "habesha" people are a fairly new group that emerged out of this kingdom. Each one absorbed many cushtic tribes as they migrated south which is why you see the deviation in the languages.

The name ethiopia has nothing to do with Axumites but Agaezi tigray r the direct descendants of the former Axumite Aegazian . Axumite King Ezana him self wrote stated that the invaded ethiopia (Nubia) and became the 8th colony of his empire.
