Man, new players have it so good now with decent guitars that are affordable! I'm 59, and when I was learning to play in the 70's affordable guitars (for me at least) had to be taken to somebody immediately to recut the nut, unless the guitar was for strictly slide playing. Love your videos!

Same here buddy, I paid 300 for Cortez Les Paul copy in the 70's. It was a nice guitar though. It had a slight arch top and wasn't that heavy but it had great sustain. That was not my first guitar but my first live gig guitar.

I use my Harley Benton Fusion in my garage as a guitar only for non metal purposes but that doesn't stop me from shredding and yanking the hell of the tremolo. Yet it still stays in tune a day later in my hot garage.

I actually bought this guitar after your review of the HB T. I wanted the T, but Thomann didn't offer it in stock at the time, so I bought this one, and it has served me well. I hope I'll be able to make it sing as well as you, but I really doubt it, but the problem here isn't the guitar ^^.

I only subscribe to a few channels on KZbin but recently yours is the one I've been drawn to the most. You project a kindness of spirit and a light from within, so when it became clear to me that you are a brother in Christ, I realized I should not have been surprised. I purchased my Harley Benton silver Sparkle based on your review of it. I received it last Wednesday and I'm very pleased with it,, so much so that I want to try a lower dollar version maybe one based on a PRS or Strat SSS. So anyway, you and your family are now in my prayers. keep up the good work. I will be watching and supporting you as much as I can.

That's some nice playing, glad to see there's still live music going on. Must confess that I don't quite get the "oh but can it handle a gig" questions about HB guitars. I played some abominations of cheap guitars in the 90s and other than having to adjust tuning during the set or duct taping a cord in working position on a glitchy output I can't really recall anything that would make a huge difference between rehearsing for hours and playing a 30 minute gig.

Great to hear thae the Fusion performed well in a live gig and stayed in tune. Hopefully the Vegatrem will give you the "dive bomb" performance of a Floyd without the tears that Floyds are famous for. Please do an update when the Vegatrem is installed Jonathan.

Nice concert, I had no idea what they were singing about but it was all so laid back! Good to hear how the Fusion performed, it’s a very nice guitar. I’m a big fan of the HB guitars, they are such good value for money and if you’re not completely happy with stock they’re great for modding!

That guitar was made for live play (silver sparkle guitars are not meant to be played only in the studio - what a waste that would be!! Good to see, and hear that it performed well Jon. Such a shame that the routing is not sufficient for dive-bombing, since the Wilkinson 2-point trem is very nicely designed and usually (when properly seated) does a great job, but I am sure the vega trem will sort out that. Your musical government ministers are a surprising discovery! Who would have thought? I suspect the Singapore Parliament has our British parliament beat on that score - I can't imagine hearing any such music coming from the environs of Big Ben!!! Hope you and your family are well Jon. And good to see you playing live again, I hope this begins to pick up soon.

Ok, good to know Jon, I have the fusion 2, but in a live gig 2 years ago it was on the edge of stability, so during the gig I had to switch over to my Luke again. Maybe i will try to get rid of the string trees too, see what that will do, thanks👍

Hi Jon - I just got the telecaster version and I love it. The neck feels like chocolate it's so amazing. The FRETBOARD tho - it also feels amazing but it scratchy when I do any vibrato or bends... like - am I scratching off the finish or damaging the fretboard? I don't think I've ever had a fretboard where I worried about how hard I was digging in hard on bends.

Because of you, Jon, I now own a HB sparkle tele AND a sparkle-strat (with EVH pickups... WOW!) Yes, it's me, the guy who likes plain wood with stain or a boring off-white finish...Not anymore! Call me SIlver Sparkles! All the rest of the guitars except the American strat (sss) I've had since the 80's (May just get another Sparkle-caster with HSS and replace that too!) sits unloved in their cases... Might be time to unload some me thinks... mmhmm! Seriously, the neck on both feels perfect! Not too thin, not too thick and as smooth as Carlos Santana! (Or Jon) I'll likely not have to use my refretting tools except to help a buddy out with these Blackstone SS frets! Now, just gotta talk HB into making a 24.75" scale Tele =)

I got this same guitar, did you take a spring out of it? I tried taking a spring out to help make the tremolo better, but I couldn’t get it in tune and the bridge was much higher than what it was. What can I do to fix this? I’m stuck on it and there are no videos on how to do this properly.

Don’t take out the spring then.. The guitar nut needs to be setup properly✌️❤️

Is it worth getting a charvel over one of these fusions? I wanted a charvel in pretty much the same burgundy mist color harley benton is offering. However the appointments seem almost identical out side of the pickup set. Except the charvels run for about 1000 bucks. It seems like i’d just be paying for the name on head stock at that point

I have the fusion 2. It plays great. I have a love-hate relationship with the pickups. Somehow I think these sound way too thin and lack power. I am a lover of medium power humbucker clean sound these too thin. With overdrive these sound okay.

Hey Jonathan, cool video, and love the clips at the end - nice to see how it stacked up against a Tom Anderson! I have one of the silver fusion 2s, and I firmly believe it can hold it's own against pretty much any pro level guitar. I put the wilkinson vs100 in mine, along with some fretboard LEDs (done by martin sims here in the uk), and it really is excellent! Thanks again for all the cool videos :) Simon.
