I Use to install metal roofing.there should be foam strips that u put ontop of the fascia/drip edge then the metal roof goes over top of foam also u dont nail/screw in the flats unless using for siding or if roof is 12/12 pitch or steeper.less then 12/12 u should put your screws ontop of the ribs if not youll have to go back up every couple years tighteningg down the screws that popped up

I installed all the metal roofing on logans landing mall in traverse city mi ten years ago and was taught never to screw in the flats unless 12/12pitch or steeper. ive never had a roof i installed leak. My nieghbor had a company install there metal roof about 5 years ago and they screwed in the flats. i told him when i seen them screwing in flats it would leak in less than 2 years i was right now every year or two my neighbor has to replace/ tighten the screws that popped up or his roof leaks

The thing here is that Chris isn't wrong, and it's sad when you have to actually educate the contractor. The front edge of that Fascia needs to be at a 90 (flush with the Fascia) so the top edge needs to follow the angle of the roof.
