yes and there seems to be multiple underlying issue with the concrete, something years of chemicals leeching into it, bad pour and poor prep work. some floors simply should never be epoxy coated, demo it and pour a new floor! nobody is perfect as a contractor, it takes many years of experience and all the labor fields are chock full of green wet behind the ears know nothing and don't care folks. but then again the majority of products being installed are all total garbage quality, designed by college folks with ZERO hand on field experience and guided by bean counters(accountants). they'll all figure it out when they cannot afford to live, lose everything and have to downgrade 50 fold or nobody will support their habits of having luxury items. aka multiple things break and it takes them weeks to many months to get it repaired or replaced.

I’m young and I don’t charge a ton but it does take me a while but I’ve literally never had anyone say my work was bad so idk. I think companies have a way of jacking up prices and getting other people to do the work for them and for that I agree cheap work is bad and good work isn’t cheap. But I think it’d be very beneficial to homeowners if there was more people who were just honest like me, but I’m biased.

many of us are lazy and don't drag tools around and often just use our idiot devices (smart-*dumb*-phones or tablets) as the flashlight (yeah lol) or could walk to vehicle and grab one of the multiple "lighting devices" ready to go. but it's mostly to hear the customer talk and suggest nonsensical things or not listen when you tell them the underlying product is very poorly made and the new fang-dangled technology won't adhere to it ;) AKA. now days products are designed by college folks with ZERO hands on/field experience, further boxed in by the perfect lab settings and surroundings. long ago, the colleges were filled with folks which had many hours hands on field experience and looking to improve themselves and that they did, it just doesn't work out so well in reverse and becomes devolution into the mire of a sea of trash and junk. it's all coming to an abrupt sharp ending and far sooner than you think. ;)

(you don't want to know) tear it out, pour a new floor with good concrete mix, allow to fully cure (1+ year) then apply coatings. alternate, cut your loses and stick some waterproof floating composite overtop the epoxy coating as is. that would should last 5 to 15 years, depending on abuse, like junk dropped on it/burnt/chemicals/etc.

No epoxy or sealer will stop moisture from coming up through the concrete. Without a moisture barrier under the slab this will continue to be a problem.

Since you’re doing tile now, you still need to grind down and neutralize the concrete with acid and wash it off. Seal floor completely then apply thinset. Or you’ll have same problem with thinset not bonding because of moisture issues coming from everything that has been soaked in the concrete pores over the last few decades
@grizzly8859

The kitchen floor I did their still looks mint👌!. You dont have to neutralize the concrete with acid and then apply a sealer. Thinset is in adhesive. It will bond to the concrete
