@Yosef Alshdoke Too many people are not as insightful as yourself and don't realize that a pandemic and the stresses caused by a mining craze could cause supply & demand issues. Thanks to your innumerable books on this phenomena as a community we are blessed, as for the others who expect the prices not to ever fluctuate they will call often and so your staff does not need to answer these repetitive call the folks at VRLA Tech tried to let consumers be aware. In short, we all are not as insightful as you. Too bad we are not. As for me; I'm in no way associated with VRLA Tech...... I'm just an average Joe.

Linus your estimate for pc building for a beginner i would say was spot on. About 3 months ago I built my first pc now I had done a ton of research before hand to know how to put it together before I even ordered the parts but it still took me almost 4 hours to build it and about a week later I realized I had done some stuff wrong therefore my thermals were suffering severely therefore I had to take it rebuild it but the 2nd time around it only took 2.5 hours. However I enjoyed every minute of the build and rebuild so completely worth it and now I'm in the world of PC gaming just gotta build up that steam library.

The time you spent doing all this research and building is worth it. 1) You probably weren't getting paid for the time you spent already. 2) You are now more knowledgeable on system components 3) Building it yourself is invaluable for any potential troubleshooting you might do 4) Future upgrades will be significantly easier as you will have this experience under your belt and know what to look for and how to do it.

I started with a prebuilt and then put together my next build. So satisfying to build yourself, but I don't look down upon those who don't. Plus, I feel confident now to upgrade and problem shoot when needed. I even figured out how to boot Windows from a USB and another computer, after royally screwing up an OC. Even though I lost all my non-essential info, it was worth the experience.

I think a good idea when shipping a whole system like that is to provide like a "cheat sheet" or map of how the connectors are meant to fit in the motherboard. Because, if you then tell the customer to check all connectors when the pc arrives, they'll not only be able to do it without having to get a hold of customer support, they also might learn a little bit about where connectors go in general and able to recognize how it is kinda supposed to look, which can be a generally good knowledge.

I build my own and like building my own. I was very sad I couldn’t get my hands on the 3000 series cards. I have a build sitting in my room right now with no GPU (just going to put an extra 5600xt I have in there temporarily till I can get one) but I went on their site from that link made me wish I didn’t spend money building this system! They have an i7 with a 3070 for like $1500 with watercooled CPU. That’s not much more then I spent on my parts (if I got my hands on the 3070) it would have been totally worth it given how Linus showed how well it was put together! I always get nervous buying prebuilds so I don’t do it

@@rcel3238 Had a phone conversation with their support finally and the only thing they said missing was the 3080.. The sales basically told me they will try to ship the PC out this week if the GPU arrives, which is well passed the 7th week at this point. To add to that, she just told me that they couldn't get the GPUs in stock because Suppliers are putting higher tariffs on the GPUs, so they are not able to get the 3080s at the same lower price they were purchasing originally. I mean it make sense but how is that my problem as a customer's stand point? @@Steven-ix7lu Thanks for the update! I don't even understand why they're selling the product at that point if they didn't have the stock already. Just seems like a bad business move from all points. Most of the good PSU manufacturers actually have way higher gauge cables than the specification that can handle more the max current of the 2 8pins that can be hooked per connector, and it's drawing from the same 12 volt rail in the PSU if split between PSU ports anyway so it really is fine.

@@igors_lv 8 pin *specification* is 150W, those cables are rated way higher. PSU manufacturers wouldn't make those split cables if they couldn't handle the load. I ordered a prebuilt from them 7 weeks ago to date. They never answer their phones, and their voicemail box is constantly full so you can't leave voicemails. Your only option is to email their sales team, which I've done 3 times now over the course of a month to inquire about when I can expect my PC to be shipped. They can't even be bothered to tell me if my parts got delayed, or even a simple "I don't know" response....they're just ignoring me. I can't say I'd recommend this company to anyone, based off their customer service alone. I've read more reviews than I can count with similar circumstances to mine. They must be twiddling their thumbs in their office waiting on 3000 series cards while IGNORING their customers inquiries.

I recently took delivery of their Helios, Core i9-10900, Castle 360EX, 64GB DDR4-3000. I waited almost a month as I requested the Asus RTX 3080. Nice build quality and a very good looking system. I'm not a big RGB fan (pun intended) so I chose the quiet black fans. The subtle IO, CPU Cooler and GPU RGB's are more my style. I kinda wished it had an unlocked CPU however, but plenty of FPS for what I do.

Full sized ATX case with 8 fans in it, with a now old school manual lever fan adjuster & old school case light color adjusters (came with my used case and figured why not) but having them added even more wires... With 2 HDD's & one SATA SSD. A DVD burner for reasons.... All crammed into the back side panel. At least I got a fully module Corsair RM850 power supply to help! But in the window everything looks very neat and professional!

I would pay a system builder to build AND make overclocked and undervolted profiles for both the CPU and GPU in the bios. Buying a prebuilt computer is not enough if you are a PC enthusiast. If all you want is game, you can get a console that is cheaper, almost no setup, and faster to buy assuming there is stock at your local Walmart or Best Buy
