Best reason I can think of with the blocked off stairs is that it allows snow shovelers to put the snow somewhere easily. They could however just apply chains or some other method to block them off during winter to keep them open all other times.

6:35 That fan is designed that way on purpose. It's so you can turn it off very quickly in case of a problem, I think.
@Aras14
@Aras14 2 жыл бұрын
It's to prevent stalling. Early Fans only started turning on higher speeds, on low speeds it wouldn't start turning, only heating the motor, which was a potential fire hazard. So they made it, that it always hit the higher speed at least momentarily, kickstarting the fan.

(12:00) The entry level in a building is the ground floor; one flight of stairs up is the first floor, then the second floor, and so on. Below the ground floor would be downstairs, or basement, or parking, or something else. - In some countries, they call the ground floor as the first floor, and the first floor as the second floor.

The fan knob is because those motors tend to stall at low RPMs because they have low torque. Turning them on at max setting gives them the required current to avoid stalling, that's why they use that reverse layout.

Ah yes, my great grandfather was a sergeant at the start of WW11. He saved his squad mates by manning a Gatling laser and fought against thousands of Vikings riding laser raptors attacking his position. He was evacuated when the soldiers from the Bikini Bottom battalion arrived in the city. He would survive to fight the Battle of Los Santos, The Vice City Stand-off, The siege of Wall Maria, invasion of Liberty City and Battle of Hoover Dam. He was killed when the Japanese sent the infamous Yellow Lighting Hamsters “The Pika Unit” when they attacked Ba Sing Se. RIP Major Chad Thundercock Longjohnson Tigerstripe. 2526 - 2669.
