HOW DID THIS HAPPEN? | Camping in Heavy Rain | Hammock camping gone wrong | Qeezer down sleeping bag

Wild camping in bad weather is always fun, however this time I awoke in a puddle in my hammock.
Martin and myself had a great night despite camping in Heavy rain under a Tarp.
Food was cooked on the xboil.
the onewind hammock once again worked a treat.
Watched a tree fall in the morning with was an experience.

Dear viewers in the year 2555, this video shows how your ancient ancestors survived. Civilisation had collapsed due to climate change and people were left living in the woods. No they aren't mutant gnomes, people actually looked like that back then. The thing called a "tarp" was the one device they had to protect themselves from the rain. It rained constantly for 4 years and 54 days. They called it "pissing it down". The bright flames come from a substance known as "fossil fuels". In the hammock, snoring and farting were believed to ward off evil spirits such as tree demons known as "widow makers". They believed in a process called "leave no trace" but archaelogical investigations have discovered the remnants of these camps such as tiny leaves which are believed to have been used in an occult ceremony known as "making a brew". You'll notice that shaving equipment had yet to be invented when this footage was taken. Some of the clothing and equipment used here, such as a "flat cap", can now be seen in the British history section of the Multi Cultural LGBTQ+++ Diversity Museum.

I have just deployed my 4.5 x 3 tarp for winter hammock camping after getting wet with my 3 x 3 as a diamond too - it keeps you dry but looks like a feckin marquee! Can you show us the camera setup you use when filming at night - I struggle to get anything in low light with a gopro.

Yeah thinking of upgrading my tarp to a 3.5 X 3.5. Lighting wise I just have a generic light with a shoe sitting on top of the GoPro. They are pants in low light

Poorly set up tarp in diamond configuration, pooled with water and emptied itself next too/over underquilt. That's my best guess as when I woke from the butt soaking there was still a pool on the tarp right next to the hammock. No entry from tree huggers and hammock ends were dry

Approach them/write to them. Avoid meeting them in camo and be a presentable. Inform them you'll keep an eye on the place, LNT and let them know when you are going. Prepare for a lot of no's
