Growing up in the early 2000s I was collecting and playing Yu-Gi-Oh! as a kid, like many people my age (I just turned 30 a few months ago). I lost interest in it by the time I hit middle school, but by 2006 I started watching and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys, something I inherited from both sides of my family, who are all Cowboys fans. When I returned to this hobby, Yu-Gi-Oh! cards and Dallas Cowboys cards have been my north stars, my frame of reference and guide for how I navigate the trading card hobby as a whole. The Yu-Gi-Oh! side of things feeds my nostalgia and the Cowboys side of things helps me learn more about players and reinforces my love for football.

Love that Interlake card! Such a cool display piece!

Certain players priced out due to how much a card cost for: Mays, Mantle, Clemente, Hank, Koufax.... well, some great League Leader cards by Topps that have these HoF iconic players.. and maybe not psa 10, but nice centered psa 5 with 1, 2, 3 Iconic players.... 35 bucks, 45 bucks, 80 bucks.. as noted, even if key cards are priced too high at any grade , find hidden gems that are great to add to collections and one by one, build a nice portfolio of HoF cards from the 60's.. (just as example)

Grew up in the 80’s and 90’s. Love all things that era. Sports cards, movies, music. Those things just make me feel good. Now kids literally just sit in their room on the phone all day, it’s sad. Go drive by a park, no kids ever playing at a local playground.
@TheSportsCardDadАй бұрын
Great point! Also rarely see kids playing pick up bball/football games in the neighborhood
@ScottSmith-pe8lrАй бұрын
@@TheSportsCardDad yea totally agree, it’s really sad. You ever see kids riding a bike anymore? Nope..

I wish the kids in my neighborhood would stop treating the parking lot, like a local playground.

Saw Pearl Jam in ‘92 in Nola!! They blew smashing pumpkins and chili peppers out of the water! And they were the opening band. One of the best shows I’ve ever been to!

holy crap man blades of steel i used to love that game i havnt thought of that game in years
@chrisolivo6591Ай бұрын
Blades of Steel was the shit in the late 80’s when i was in High School. Then EA NHL series was huge in the early 90’s as NHL ‘94 even rivaled Madden Football back in the day as the most popular sports game on Sega.

No lies told! Agreed
@alltimesportscardsАй бұрын
Yeah I used to play EA NHL 93 when I was in college. The cheat code was to use the Red Wings team, Yzerman and Ysebaert were an unstoppable combo. You could fight on the ice and beat guys to a pulp. Don't know if they still allow that in modern hockey video games 😂

Interlake Jordan "not a mega rare, not a ton, cool early Jordan" actually there are 1065 less combined graded by Bgs/PSA than the Star 101 so the star 101 by this thought is not rare.. also if the star 101 qualifies as "influencer" rc then this also qualifies as it is printed in Jordans 1st season (84-85) in a Chicago Bulls Jersey (licensed)..can't say well it's oversized it doesn't fit the definition b/c the star 101 wasn't widely distributed or in packs but it is now "influencer defined" rc. Interlake MJ PSA Pop 243 Bgs 211 °Total Interlake graded= 454 Star 101 PSA Pop 306 Bgs 1213 °Total Star #101 =1,519 Just my 2 cents as devil advocate, I think Bgs defined them well as xrc. Nevertheless glad we have great cards to collect from Jordans early seasons. Cool shirt, Blades of Steel +Mountain Dew we played till the sun came up.

Interlake is a promo card. Star is a rookie card. Fleer is a third-year card.
@butcheoreo8034Ай бұрын
@@BobBoozle *Star is a limited distribution set. (Per written by Beckett Basketball Magazine how to use section) I have seen that collectors may consider a player's first officially licensed prospect card to be their rookie card. In racing 1972 STP (promotional card) is considered by many to be Richard Petty's rc, Dale Earnhardt's rc is considered by many as a 1983 uno(promotional card). As I see the Jordan star 101 a xrc, the Interlake a promo xrc. The Fleer is the true definition of a rc as it meets all criteria not only based on collectors consideration.
@BobBoozleАй бұрын
@@butcheoreo8034 Fake news propaganda. Michael Jordan was a rookie in 1984-85, so a 1986-87 Fleer card would be his 1st Fleer card, not a rookie card.
@butcheoreo8034Ай бұрын
@@BobBoozle Definitely not propaganda...Since star was limited distribution, hence not a major manufacturer, there is not a true MJ RC that precedes his 1986 Fleer. So there has never been a FFC (First Fleer Card) designation attached to the 1986-87 Fleer Jordan #57, just the appropriate RC.
@BobBoozleАй бұрын
@@butcheoreo8034 This is an instance in which you have to use your common sense over what you have been told to believe. In your original comment, you talk about "influencer rc" ... that's the epitome of your 1986 Fleer. You consider it the RC because Beckett told you it was the RC.
