I met Crazy D and asked if it would be an imposition to look in the shop and say hello to The Wizard if he was around. As luck would have it he was and he was kind enough to stop what he was working on to say hello and chat for a minute with a fan. After that Crazy D was generous enough to give us a tour of the shop and Hoovies' projects. It was an awesome experience and I am happy to report that these guys are every bit as cool as they look on TV.

Mechanics hate that word. “Technician”. It’s a word used to make “mechanic” seem more high tech and palatable to ignorant customers at high volume dealers etc, and to elevate a shop helper to a higher status without customers complaining. They aren’t just a hired hand without a mechanics certification etc, they’re “technicians” see? Anyway, take it fwiw.

Theres another Mechanic that does alot of what the wizard does Rainman ray repairs. Alot of his work is done from a more first person perspective with things like a body cam etc. I honestlly think These people filming their work brings more customers because the transparency it gives, people will trust you more when they can clearly see they wont get ripped off. Also the cameras add an insurance policy to the shop as it can prevent fruad from customers or a insurance company because the work done is clearly documented and nobody can refute if wasnt done right

They called her and invited her to appear with them. Very funny. Martha Stewart sat in with them. They took a call from space once. They even talked with their mother till she passed away. Wizard's hands don't seem to be too dirty and Magic Mike a couple of others seem to be the only people under hoods. I don't know how KZbin pays. Awesome, Car Wizard. Kudos to you, Mrs. Wizard, and all who make your channel possible. I'm an old guy and enjoy watching. Brings me back to the old days when I had a zillion different jalopies and HAD to work on then to keep them going.

We all wish we had a wizard in our town. It's the honesty that has built the brand, and will continue to grow it.

It's really a good proof of Hoovie's character that he "took" the Car Wizard along with him on his ride up. Not to say the Wizard couldn't have made it on his own because he has his unique brand of quality. It just is a nice community, great friends, good people to watch. Love it.

Car Wizard is probably the best automotive channel out there and my personal reason for getting into mechanic(ish) work. I'm not as intimidated by working on my own car anymore. He's straight and to the point, easy to understand, and his wife (or whoever films that day) does excellent camera work showing the areas of the cars very clearly. And he just has fun stories to tell. Love listening to his videos while working or just to kill time and chill.

I had the opportunity to meet David and his wife last year at Amelia Island and I can’t express enough how gracious and kind they were. Really solid people. I’m happy for their success.

Simply amazing how much more relaxed and confident your camera persona is now that your Mettle has been tested in the Fires of Hades. Well done. Your Wizardry is a warm cozy glow. Best wishes.

You caught lightning in a bottle by keeping you mind open to new experiences. You found yourself thinking outside the box without ever thinking that you needed to get out of that box. Let's just see where this goes.

As a person who works in TV here in LA, post-production, you nailed it on the head and where the value add of being on the TUBE!

I really wish I was in range of the wizard to bring him my cars; that or someone like him lived near me. A guy like that in his industry is a gem.

I remember My Friend Pete of South West Rods and Customs talking about his "reality" show called Tough Love Garage. He said there was nothing real about it. Now he just does really great instructional videos about auto body, and life in general. I really like you channel. You are very informative and always make me happy that I rescued a 1989 Dodge Aries and don't own any of that junk you show us.

I have learned so much from ur videos bro. I own a tree and a landscaping business and own more vehicles than I need. I’ve saved tons of money on repairs by fixing as much stuff as I can from watching and listening to u and nit taking it to the mechanic every time. Also by avoiding buying cars I thought were cool but learned they they are mechanical nightmares. U have helped thousands of people like me no doubt.

Personalities like Hoovie and the Car Wizard are few and far between. KZbin and the world are better for them existing. Same sentiment goes for Mr. Ed. Thanks for putting out good, wholesome, interesting content in a steadily growing sea of filth and stupidity.

So glad you’re on KZbin! I wish you were close enough to use as my primary garage. My go to mechanic retired, and the guy who bought him out won’t work on my 1977 Buick Electra. He does want me to bring in my 2017 Chevy Impala though, but I would prefer a place to work on both cars like always. I still do the minor stuff myself, but am getting too old to do it much longer. The old Buick is holding up better than the driver!!

It is so hard to find a trustworthy mechanic that knows what they are doing and wont rip you off that people will put up with almost anything if they know their car will be fixed right. On top of that if they see videos of cars being fixed at the shop with the problem solving that goes on they will want their car fixed in this place even more.

I don’t know about others but coming from working in an auto shop for 8yrs. and working with hand tools for 31yrs. I value a good knowledgeable honest mechanic. That’s why I watch Mr. Wizard’s videos. And sometimes I learn something new. Thanks for all you do Mr. Wizard. 😎 👍 it’s a fantastic channel.

Years ago, I could watch at least when my car was put up on a lift, could get a good idea of what shape my vehicle's underside was in (Important, in the Rust Belt) Last couple of decades, Not Allowed! (lawyers and liability) What better way to see what's up with your car repairs, than to see them on video! Win-win for the customer.

Most outside shops (I work for a highline dealer) make this mistake in thinking that having a YT channel is something they can control, this video is what happens when outsiders (film crews/producers) dictate how a shot or an episode will go that day/week/month. And alot of shops don't like to expose themselves or their clients vehicles in such a way that liabilities are created (accidents do happen) or seeing how things are done that the public really shouldn't see. Any shop that does go the route of opening a channel should step back and think if it's really worth it........
