He has been sharing the stories of his cars on his own channel for years, of course - probably in more detail than is possible here, since each car is an episode onto itself on Jay Leno's Garage. Jay has said numerous times over the years how the story a car carries with it is as valuable to him as the car itself - and as a guy only 10 years behind him in age, I agree whole-heartedly. As *stewards* of our old cars (most of us with one, maybe two - and Jay with 185!) we are also keepers of their stories; it's our responsibility to share both with others as such, for that is the essence of the hobby itself. Of course many things can change that number so what we've heard in this video is considerably higher. Also not taken into account are the 160 motorcycles which add a lot of value. When i think of Jay,, he is a car guy, mechanic n an encyclopedia of knowledge, not a Tonight Show host n i watched the show alot. I agree with you guys,,, hell of a car collection

I love John Ficarra. His taste is amazing. All the old stuff he loves is far more interesting than any modern super car

Jay's car collection is amazing by any comparison and may be the best by many folks. Jays knowledge and passion for these creations are top notch. Simply wow.

Ed; with a voice like yours and your way of storytelling, I (and I think many others) would love to have episodes where you tell us about all cars these people own, no matter how long the episode will be 😋 Another great episode; loved it! 👍🏻

I like Ed's shrewd negotiating and the stories around that, to be honest though I prefer Jay telling his stories himself together with his mechanics and friends; he's such an enthusiast when it comes to his cars and their stories that I'm afraid these stories would lose a good part of their intensity being told "second hand", and we still will have to have the second hand version after Jay went to pit stop heaven some time in the future.

Yes. Mr. Leno’s collection should be highly praised.

I got a private tour a few years back. 🤯👀 Hung out with the mechanics while Jay made hotdogs 🌭 what a fun day. You forgot how many bikes he has as well. Almost as many as cars. Tucked all over the place. Thanks Jay 😎

When the Stanley Steamer was being discussed, and it was said that a Stanley Steamer could reach todays highway speeds which I think is between 75 and 80 mph. A 1909 Stanley Steamer racing on the sand at Daytona Beach in 1909 set a land speed record of I believe 100.9 mph but my memory isnt what it was and it may have been 109.1 mph. but I am positive it was over 100 mph.

Don't forget that his collection would include all the rare and unique artwork, literature and memorabilia that would be necessary to have if you wanted to create a museum. Its total value is easily over $100M if sold as a whole.

The Duesenberg could be an inspiration for the early Batmobiles from the comics. Imagine it with a bat face on the front and wings projecting up from the rear fenders.

Great stuff, and as always, Ficarra comes in with the best picks and background stories. I think we should extend his pick allotment to 20! As for Jay's collection, I love that he doesn't pick cars based on provenance or desirability, he just picks whatever he thinks is cool, whether it's worth 10 thousand or 10 million. Also, it wasn't mentioned here, but I want Jay's Ford Shogun.

That shogun is not the most valuable car Jay owns by far, but it’s one of the coolest! Totally bonkers and I believe it’s the only one

While it's obvious that Jay was well compensated for his time in TV....his collection is WAY bigger and better than most in Hollywood could ever afford, and he was asked how he managed to do this? His response was 'I've been married to the same woman for 48 years'. SO many celebrities go through multiple marriages and divorces with each halving their worth...it's great to see a faithful husband enjoying the fruits of his vows. Well done Jay!!

Very fair consideration. What makes Jay's collection so nice is it is his, it isn't a dollar value interest for him. The cars intrigue him, who wouldn't want to own all the cars that cranked your trigger as a kid.
