it was nerfed after the championship: mana 5->6 this nerf was impactful, not as destructive as the old gods change, taking the combo from 8->9 did drop the impact of the combo dramatically. Even when Rarren said it live to Roffle he didn't really correct him, now that was probably about him agreeing about it being nerfed.

I always thought that the stupidest thing about 14' world champ was that it was revers conquest (lose with a deck you cant use anymore) and firebat just played the druid and got wild growth 2 games and a turn 1 yeti one game

I've had an idea similar to this for years, 'Hearthstone cards from 2014 (or later) if they came out today', or in essence, 'buff ideas for old cards that never saw play and never got buffed'. Could be an interesting re-look at old cards, and potential for a lot of videos worth of content. So many old cards that never got some love (including many we dunk on regularly but we rarely actually offer ideas for what they could have been), they deserve some love I think.

there is a high rank hearthstone youtuber called "Flare" that basically does videos like this, his recent one in the series is called "How To Fix The Witchwood" and he showcases interesting reworks/buffs to old obsolete cards, one of them that i thought was really clever was making duskfallen aviana dormant so that you will always benefit from her first and could set up combos ahead of time

Was it not first to beat all the opponents decks as opposed to first to win with all their decks? Would be curious to see how that would affect the game (though I think the format you guys played is far superior)

I wish I could go back to this time and take HS more serious and stream. Cause I used to get legend every month and all I did for 2 years was play and watch the game. I was too scared to stream. I also was scared if I try to go pro, I will fail so I never pushed for top 100 Legend finishes at end of every month. I've play card games for little over 20 years and the first 4 years of HS is probably my 2nd favorite card game of all time. Maybe the one I had most fun playing.

You can still play Classic HS (competitive) in the ¨'Twist"' mode, but the downside is that it is only avalaible for like a week or two, every 5-6 month. :( Damn I miss HS 2015-2017.

Idk if it's a symptom of my deck building style but I had to take three or four draw spells including the 2 mana weapons that draw when you attack from the current DH deck cause I'm always at like 9 cards in hand from all the discover, mini, etc. I never want to play CiCigi and risk burning cards off the top.
