120 years of copyright is absolutely ridiculous. It basically means no one living can take advantage of anything created within their lifetime. It's off the horizon of ever being influenced by something new you've seen.

Actually the authers copyright law is longer than corporations. Life of the author + 95 years. VS Corporation's 120 years. If you live 70 years? Your work get protected for 165 years. :-)
@gamanyme4 жыл бұрын
so what? are the authors going to create theirs works at the age of 0?
@ArabKatib4 жыл бұрын
@gamanyme , interesting point!! :^)0- But, lets say you created a work by 15? Then 165 - 15 = 150!! 150 years of protection!! :^)0- Not bad!! :-)0- Or think if you created something before that age!! :o) Some people are creative at age 9 or 7. But this if you live 70 years. If you create work at 10, and live a 110? Your work will be protected for your family and children, and children's children for 195 years. :o)

@@ArabKatib it actually depends on the jurisdiction though. All these countries have different copyright laws

I created BAFF at 14. 14 + 75 = 89 years of safety
@ArabKatib3 жыл бұрын
@@skylorbullard3430, no no Jonathan, it is much longer! :-) You created it at 14, but it will be protected as long as you live, once you pass away, additional 75 of protection will be added for your family and childeren to enjoy your copyright!! See, "Life of the author" means (as long as you live after creating your stuff, your work will be protected! While you are alive!). So say you create something, and live 105 years? Then you pass away? They'll add 75 years of protection extra!! So 105 - 14 = 91, + 75? = 166 years! :-) That means your work got protected throught your life, then 75 after passing away. Unlike corporations, it is a 120 years automatically.
