Thanks for this video! I didn't want to take the shots until I understood how they work, and the allergist did not make any effort to explain things scientifically.The idea of building a tolerance and overcoming the allergy seemed to be far too simplified to actually explain anything at all- so this breakdown of what's actually going on was so helpful!

Thanks so much. I have horrible oral allergy syndrome and environmental allergies. I worked at an ENT clinic that did allergy shots and the docs didn’t quite get it to this level. They gave me meta-analysis papers to read and all I took from it is that you want to build up IgG to outcompete IgE. I didn’t realize all the other parts, and I’m sure there’s still more. Thank you for these great videos I really learn so much

I kept smiling the entire video! You sound so happy explaining this from your heart! I’ve always loved medicine and immunology, and unfortunately I have chronic allergic rhinitis. Did the surgery, and it still came back, went back to abusing Otrivin, but now I am finally taking the SCIT allergy shot Thanks for the video! It really helped me understand!

Thank you so much for your amazing video. I have a few questions but 1. how does the macrophage pick up the sesame molecule? Does it imply leaky gut? 2. What is the difference in low level immune system between allergy as in this case and intolerance? Thank you again for your wonderful videos.

@@asfiajabeen9366 I'm actually still in the process of taking them, it's supposed to be done over the course of 5 years, with a reduction is injection frequency over the course of 5 years. I did notice a huge difference to how my body reacts to dust and dust mites. Less mucus buildup and sneezing. Hopefully that answers your questions.

Can you make a video about eosinophils in the nasal tissues and their interaction with goblet cells and their role in allergic rhinitis? Also, the idea for a video about t cells talking to b cells and isotype switching sounds super interesting. Also, have you heard of intralymphatic i immunotherapy and could you make a video about that?

Thanks for the great explanation. For someone starting allergy shots, are there any practices that we can take to compliment or improve their effectiveness? You mentioned reducing inflammation- are there practical things we can do to accomplish this? Also is it a bad idea to start allergy shots during allergy season when one is already experiencing allergic responses and heightened inflammation?

Thanks for this great explanation. Would allergy immunotherapy work for someone who has lupus, or chronic fatigue syndrome? I guess I'm looking for more detail around what happens if the person has some chronic inflammation
@carlosromancastaneda1138

I developed a chronic inflammatory disease called Polychondritis with renal involvement after receiving these vaccines for 1 year, allergen immunotherapy activates the Th1 and TGF-β , which is responsible for the pathogenesis of many inflammatory diseases, there are cases of lupus development in people who have used allergy vaccines In my experience, the best thing you can do is ask both your rheumatologist and allergist to work together. My health was destroyed by these allergy shots.

Can allergic shots (for cat allergies) activate an autoimmune diseases?
@carlosromancastaneda1138
@carlosromancastaneda1138 2 жыл бұрын
I suffer from Relapsing Polychondritis, an immune-mediated inflammatory disease, I developed the disease at the age of 13 in the distant 2002 during the application of allergen-specific immunotherapy (SIT). Because allergen-specific immunotherapy causes changes in the immune system, it is possible that it may influence the induction of diseases mediated by the immune system, such as autoimmune diseases, even some doctors point to the induction of autoimmunity as one of the possible consequences of long term of the SIT. It appears that increased concentrations of IL-10 and TGF-B, as well as changes in the Th2/Th1 balance, could lead to autoimmune problems in people undergoing SIT. Relapsing Polychondritis is a Th1-mediated condition. In the medical literature there are several cases published over several years such as that of Dr. Ghorschi et al, “Manifestation of rheumatoid arthritis during subcutaneous allergen-specific immunotherapy”, “Scleroderma related to specific immunotherapy. Maciel BM Clinical Case, Morphine BM.” “Turkcapar N, M. Sjogren’s syndrome induced by specific immunotherapy.”, Pemphigoid-like reaction by allergen-specific immunotherapy: an unusual adverse reaction Margarita Tomás-Pérez, among others. The MDs, PhDs. Allan Linneberg and Andrzej Bozek carried out investigations where the cases of autoimmune disease that have occurred during or after the application of Specific Immunotherapy published in the medical literature are pointed out, their conclusion is that the development of autoimmune diseases in patients with allergic diseases undergoing SIT it is rare, but as a precautionary principle it is extremely important to evaluate people in terms of the risk of autoimmunity before the application of allergen-specific immunotherapy. There are several cases of people who have developed autoimmune diseases during this treatment, many of these cases have not been published, and as Dr. Linneberg mentions, it is a sensitive issue that important measures must be taken. In the main guidelines for the use of specific immunotherapy, such as the EAACI and the DGAKI, this delicate topic is mentioned. Research and published cases acknowledge the great ignorance and uncertainty that prevails in this area and calls for a strong precautionary principle in relation to allergen-specific immunotherapy and the risk of autoimmune diseases. I was treated negligently by an allergist member of the National Council of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (CONICA) in Mexico, my case was not published in the literature.

I live in florida and I have 18 different environmental allergies. I've get allergy shots every 2 weeks and I'm 7 months into the maintenance does and my sinuses swell up and get warm every single day. I'm still taking a crazy amount of antihistamines and one side of my nose has been closed for over 3 months. The only thing that will open my nose is a decongestant pill, which I've also been taking almost every day for about6 months, which I'd like to stop doing but it's literally the only thing that opens my sinuses......Do you think I'm someone who just doesn't respond to the shots? And how can I possibly keep my inflammation down when my sinusitis is so bad?
