Why not run the cables out the top and bottom in some oval tube . That way it’s in the zone and you can always pull new cables in . Or pull some slack in if ever needed

Random recommendation on YT. Not bad, see some comments about zoning, okay. So the downward chase from the switch is going to a socket?, maybe not. Still outside the zone? not if within 150mm from a corner - I see that door trim hiding there. Only issue is if someone wants to pull a new cable in at any point.

Yeah it's a common thing that they do, should there be any codes on a newly installed addition or circuit. Maybe in Scotland the zones don't apply. And if they are showing this on video, what else are they doing when the cameras are not filming.
