Hydrogen is no joke and it is typically handled by trained professionals in the industry, similar to medium voltage electricity. The idea of handing over an Hydrogen powered anything to an average consumer is crazy. It will only take one house explosion to shut down this entire program in the USA. Also, bulk hydrogen is traditionally produced from natural gas. Electrolysis is inefficient and expensive. Toyota is wasting money with this and the cost is increasing the hybrid and BEV cars. I know i am not as qualified and expert as the Toyota engineers but they are not making these decisions, their management does.

I think you're right here. However, I can see this in a large scale truck or train "locomotive" system, where you have trained people re-fueling. Forget the consumer car group for this very specialized system.

DO NOT BUY THE MIRAI! You will get only 300 miles at most with a full fill up of hydrogen. It will now cost you about $180 to fill up. the 15k free gas card they give you which should last 3 years will only last you less than half that time. I now have a car sitting in my driveway that I only use if our second car is being used because it’s not affordable to drive. Hydrogen stations are always going down and there aren’t enough so you can’t even rely on driving your car. It’s a nightmare!

Much more complex system if compared to EV cars. Imagine you now have 5 parts/system to make your car work propelly. 1) Fuel Cell generator 2) battery (small capacity) 3) inverter 4) dc motor 5) hydrogen tank Compared it to EV cars 1) battery (large capacity) 2) Inverter 3) DC motor
