I didn’t know this was a syndrome! I didn’t even know anyone else struggles with these thoughts. Thank you very much for addressing this, Pastor John!

So good and so true God has been so faithful to his people, I did 21 years in the Army and seemed I struggled many times but I was good at soldering it was my calling throughout God the father was with me on three dangerous deployments. But there was Jesus always with me. Trust Jesus Christ to be your divine helper he is and always will be there for you no matter if its a (FOB) Forward Operation Base taking fire from the enemy or a tough job in your hometown. The Lord is your armor put him on daily and walk in the freedom that you are a citizen of heaven. God bless you always dear friends.

As a male who has symptoms of imposter syndrome routinely, I can say that another way this manifests is that I take responsibility for my mistakes but not for success. I am very hard on myself and hold myself to a standard that is nearly impossible to meet. This also makes me very judgmental and critical of the performance of others. Enneagram type 1 anyone?

There is also an ominous waiting for people to find out what I am really like. And a fear that, when they do find out, they will hate me and that I will deserve it. It's a very stressful way to live.

I feel this way about my Christianity. People always think of me as some super Christian. Of a guy who never does mistakes, and never sins. When people tell me that I’m blessed, and that I’m someone they look up to, I just feel like a fraud. I feel like they really don’t know me, and just how much I actually mess up. Does anyone else experience this? And if so, how do you guys deal with it? Thanks in advance for responding.

I was just hired for my dream job, but I feel like a fraud because I knew the interview questions ahead of time, most of my answers would've been the same though. Now I feel like I really have to prove myself competent. But I have prayed about this job for over a month, and other people have been praying as well. I know the only reason I got this job is because of God wanting me to have it, I can see how He set up extraordinary circumstances, it's not luck at all, it's God! But I still feel like a fraud 😢.

Hi sister, I'm sorry you're going through this 😢. As pastor John said, it is something that a lot of us women experience, and it is so debilitating at times because we fail to see ourselves as we should - redeemed, worthy, who sin over and over, but knowing full well of the grace that God provides daily. If the Lord can forgive us, is that not enough? He is faithful and hears the cries of His children, sister I ask that you ask the Lord to help you (if you can fast for a day or two, even better!), ask Him to reveal why your heart feels this way, and that He allows you to come to a new understanding, a perspective that reflects your standing in relation to Him, not man nor anything else! He is loyal and even this suffering allows us to grow closer to Him. I'll be praying for you ❤️

The problem with feeling like a fraud is, what if my lazy tenancies are causing me to intentionally deceive, so that I can keep my job? I suppose that that's only half imposter syndrome, then. I hate doing things I'm not good at, so motivation is at an all time low, since I don't know what to do at my job, or how to even work hard.

Amen it's God's providence not luck (luc=lucifer) even though I've had a lot of bad things happen God's providence has assured me I am blessed, not according to the world's standards but in God I am abundantly overflowing, I have breath, I have... Thank you Jesus.

maybe John can help me...I feel like I am the last Adam...can a few Pastors get together and question me...I really need some scripture educated men to come correct me if they can...myself not believing in a rapture...believing Christ is here in the flesh...coming as a human baby...learning how as a human to be a king and reigning...and reigning a thousand years with a rod of iron...as that thousand years is about Satan's confinement not the length of Christ's reign...I don't want to be mislabeled as an imposter...I just want to be revealed as the "Last Adam"...if John really is desiring God...I am willing to talk to him in person...of course bring company...like Jeff, Voddie, Paul Washer, Johnny Mac., Justin Peters, and whoever else would like to meet me in the flesh...and yes I am ....

You can't really battle imposters, because first you have to determine if you ,yourself are an imposter. If you are unselfishly seeking God and pure truth.heres a hint, the closer you seek righteousness, holiness, truthfullness, obedience self denial, picking up your cross and following after Jesus,as,your example.being purified in christ.Putting off the old man and putting on the born again man.then man who despises sin,and wickedness.

I cannot be certain that her feelings are irrational. If she is filling an earthly roll with heavenly desires than perhaps she just does not understand her feelings. Would it not be wise to believe that the holy spirit has her where she is needed for GOD's purpose and that the "luck" is GOD taking care of what she cannot? Seeking answers to her questions from men might not be the right answer.

TO THE FALSE PROPHETS THAT TEACH OSAS and FAITH ALONE, BEWARE 26 For if we SIN WILLFULLY after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there NO longer remains a SACRIFICE for (such)sins, 27 but a certain fearful expectation of JUDGEMENT and fiery indignation which will devour the ADVERSARIES. 28 Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 Of how much WORSE PUNISHMENT, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy WHO HAS TRAMPLED the SON OF GOD underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and INSULTED THE SPIRIT OF GRACE (Holy Spirit)? Hebrews 10:26-29 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but WHOEVER SPEAKS AGAINST the HOLY SPIRIT, it WILL NOT be FORGIVEN him, either in this age or in the age to come. Matthew 12:32 My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. James 3:1 But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea. Mark 9:42 My people are DESTROYED for lack of knowledge: because thou hast REJECTED knowledge, I will also REJECT thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also FORGET thy children. Hosea 4:6

Oh thanks I’ve never heard those scriptures before I guess I can lose my salvation. 🙄 How very helpful of you you know I guess I will just have to try harder and be as Holy as I can possibly be, Gee I wish there was someone perfect that could Go before me OH WAIT Stop trying to bring God’s beloved under the law of death. We are alive in Him living abundantly with blessed assurance. Congratulations on not sinning any more though, that’s pretty impressive👏🏼🤥
