How do I Find Mathematical Limits?

Writing out tables are an effective, but not the most convenient way to finding the limit of a function as x approaches its specified value. The most basic method to finding a limit is to plug in or substitute the value that x is approaching into f(x), however this often will not be sufficient. A little bit of creativity and lateral thinking is required to find mathematical limits depending on the nature of the variable x.
