Thank you for your informative video. I am an artist, living in my van and I really want to do more acrylic painting but no room to store a lot of canvases. I’m now excited to have this information because I can paint on paper and know that I have an option to frame my art like I do watercolor. I will still varnish my acrylic, like I would on canvas and have on option to hang it without the glass. I needed to hear this from another artist. Thank you so much. 🙏🏻❤

I’m not sure if you realise that painters tape won’t last and the painting will eventually fall off. Also many backing boards and tapes are not acid free and so can affect the paper down the track. I would recommend you but acid free tape and use backing boards that are archival when selling work. Your work here is beautiful. Also sealing off the back helps keep dust and insects out.

Thank you so much for this demo, Marina. I always enjoy your tutorials. I must add that Amazon, US now tells us that the acrylic-compatible cold wax is not available, and may never be produced! I did manage to get one small jar! Are you finding it available in France?

It is so annoying, the water based cold wax is available at the regular art store here in France but the oil compatible one not at all and is very difficult to find in Europe (and very expensive). I had hoped that the acrylic compatible one would be available everywhere..

Hi Marina! This is such great advice and so economical! I'm giving an acrylic and Powerwax painting to my son and do not want to frame it under glass. Do I need to coat this with something or is the Powerwax enough? Thank you very much. I love your tutorials!!

@@mimis289 thank you! You can leave your painting as it is and frame it without glass. I have read (but have not tried it yet) that you can buff your painting with a soft cloth to close the pores and protect it even more, apparently this makes it even waterproof!

Thank you! I wouldn’t put your painting under glass if it is fairy new. Although the outside seems dry, the inside can still be humid. With traditional oil paint, it can take months to fully cure, when you mix in cold wax medium it dries a bit faster. Did you try mixing cold wax into your oil paint ? Happy painting !
